Chapter 40 A memorable day
---
**At the Abyss**
Linkir stared at the still-open portal, hesitating. She didn't want to enter. Her heart raced with conflicting thoughts, and besides, Void hadn't explicitly told her to follow him.
"Damn, leaving me here all alone," she muttered, frowning as her voice shook. She could already sense demons approaching the area. As a rank 1 demon, her heightened perception made it clear: there would be no escaping. If she tried to run, the demons would most certainly chase her.
"I'm screwed," Linkir said, stepping back slowly. Just as she gritted her teeth and prepared to step through the portal, the demons vanished.
"What... what just happened?" she asked, bewildered. Not just the demons but even the Aeron forces within kilometers had disappeared after looking up. Linkir was mere inches from the portal when her curiosity took over. She wanted to know what had caused the sudden shift.
"We meet again, slave," Junnie's mocking voice rang out as she descended gracefully, her four wings now fully revealed.
"Hello," Linkir replied, sounding bored. She was, after all, a small accomplice to Junnie's schemes.
With a casual wave of her hand, Junnie helped Linkir to her feet. "Shouldn't you be following your master?" Junnie asked with a playful smile.
"I was just about to," Linkir said, turning toward the portal. But as she was about to step through, she felt herself being yanked back and lifted off the ground.
"Don't go if you don't want to. Let me show you something," Junnie said with a mischievous grin as she flew off, holding Linkir by the neck.
**A Few Minutes Later**
They arrived at a massive castle. Compared to the barren place where she and Void stayed, this was paradise. Once inside, Linkir was even more impressed. Maids—both Aeron and demons—bustled about, some returning from other worlds and universes with captured souls. The maids cared for the immense castle, which spanned 15 kilometers in width and stood 5 kilometers tall.
It was like a majestic beast, powerful and enigmatic.
As Junnie passed, both maids and demon warriors bowed respectfully. Junnie merely smiled, and even without using charm, her presence was enough to captivate those around her.
Soon, Junnie led Linkir to a grand chamber. The room had two distinct areas. The first was a large bedroom with ornate seats and maids standing by, ready to assist with anything.
"According to Void, this civilization should be just a year old… since when did warlike demons indulge in such luxuries? I thought demons thrived on chaos," Linkir mused, her mouth agape. She noticed a giant pool filled with some sort of liquid.
"This must be a bath," she thought, frowning. Void had once told her about something like this, though in his description, water filled the pool instead of magma.
The only thing missing from the room was a bed or a wardrobe full of clothes. After all, demon scales were more than enough to cover their bodies—particularly the females, whose scales highlighted their shapes. And since demons were nearly inexhaustible machines, sleep was unnecessary. So why have a bed?
Linkir couldn't help but think that if this rank continued to rise, this demon society could become a true civilization, far removed from the primal beasts they once were.
Void would be astonished if he were here, witnessing the transformation. From the brutal mass murders of the First Abyss, the savage wars of the Second Abyss, to this—peaceful, organized, and luxurious Third Abyss. The demons here had begun to mimic the natives of different multi universes, showing just how quickly a chaotic species could form a functional society.
Linkir wondered what the deeper layers of the Abyss would look like. "Will it resemble my home?" she thought, pain washing over her. She missed her home, but her family had betrayed her. What was home now?
Junnie treated Linkir like an honored guest, showing her around the castle, even introducing her to male demons. At rank 2, demons could mate at will, and their eggs would hatch in the castle, with the offspring likely emerging as rank 1.
"Oh, I forgot," Junnie exclaimed, suddenly dragging Linkir away as she remembered that in this Abyss, rank 1 demons couldn't mate outside of the mating season—a rule that applied to Aerons too.
Linkir grew more suspicious by the minute, her body tense. How could a rank 2 demon not know such basic rules? And after seeing the other castles, she realized this one was the most unique and beautiful of all. "Is she really a demon? Or... what did Void call it?
Is she a spy?" Linkir thought, her heart racing. She didn't have much time to ponder before they were back in the grand room.
"The demons and rules in this Abyss are different," Junnie said thoughtfully. "It took me a long time to change these other demons. I had to use fear to control them. In this Abyss, contracts aren't just spoken; a physical parcel appears to confirm it. This has to be reported to my lord, Asmodeous."
Her expression darkened, but soon a smile spread across her face. She seemed ready to enjoy herself.
Junnie led Linkir to the other side of the room, separated by a thin curtain. From afar, it seemed delicate, but as Linkir drew closer, she could tell it was made from a powerful material—legendary white ore. Even she couldn't destroy it.
"Even this... I'll have to tell him," Junnie thought, a smile playing on her lips. She believed they would conquer this Abyss soon enough.
Linkir gasped as they entered the space behind the curtain. Dozens of figures were tied up, all radiating the aura of rank 2 demons. Each of them was female, bound by rank 2 ropes, their expressions vacant, their bodies trembling as a thick liquid dripped down from between their legs.
"What… what did you do to them?" Linkir asked, horrified, momentarily forgetting to show Junnie the respect she demanded.
"Making them feel good," Junnie said, casually sitting down, a whip now in her hand. She reclined lustfully, her figure accentuated.
"After all, my element is lust," Junnie said as a wave of charm energy spread out. The female demons' bodies shook even more, the liquid flowing freely as their expressions twisted into a mixture of pleasure and agony.

**At Heaven**
The fight between Buddha and the four rank 2 demons was intense. The so-called Heaven had been shattered, destruction reigning daily. Buddha glanced at the ground below. Even if he won this battle, nothing might be left—*if* he won.
"Oh, your attacks are getting weak... Aren't you supposed to be the strongest being in this universe?" A demon with a fox-like expression teased, her voice dripping with charm and enchantment.
"I can't win," Buddha thought. "They're at the same level as me. Their attacks are deadly, their bodies nearly impenetrable, and worst of all, they're toying with me." Buddha used his palm to push them away, creating a small breathing space. Even with his mastery in Taoism, the injuries he suffered couldn't be healed. The difference in power systems was becoming clear.
Desperate, Buddha began chanting a sacred mantra, hoping its purging effects would work on the demons—and it did.
"AAAH!" The four demons screamed in agony, collapsing to their knees, clutching their heads.
"Amitabha… You will be purged today." Buddha stepped toward them, ready to release his Buddha Palm. But just as he was about to strike, he felt a force behind him, pinning his arms.
"Hehehehe..."
"Kikikikik..."
"You thought that would actually work?" A bull-like demon laughed, his four wings fluttering mockingly. Another voice echoed from behind as a humanoid demon restrained Buddha's hands.
"How foolish."
"Let's finish this," the fox demon said, her grin widening as the three peak rank 2 demons launched their final attack.
The end had already been foretold.
**BOOM!** A massive explosion erupted, and the four demons were pushed back, slightly injured. Where Buddha once stood was now a rift—a kilometer-long tear into the second layer of space, a scar that would not close anytime soon.
Buddha, the omnipotent and omniscient being of this universe, had fallen.
All across the world, cultivators felt their powers slipping away. Some were reduced to ordinary people, while others were left with only strong bodies. The Abyss had begun devouring this world. The land was ravaged, spiritual veins severed, and deities stripped of their divinity. The world was on the brink of extinction.
**In the Forest**
Hours of torture had left Void lying motionless on the ground, his body resembling that of a corpse. His breathing was shallow, his life force flickering like a candle about to be extinguished.
"Well... I guess I survived," Void muttered, a faint smile creeping across his face as his body began to regenerate. Soon, he was standing, his body fully restored and more active than before.
"System, show me my stats."

"Wow..." Void's mouth dropped in surprise, his expression resembling that of a delighted child. "I finally got a title... I'll never forget this day."
Grinning, Void turned his attention to the legendary Sun Wukong, the mythic figure known for striking fear with the word "monkey." The stone monkey, born from an ancient stone, was lying dead—or so it seemed.
Void lifted Sun Wukong's body, inspecting it closely. "Sun Wukong... Are you dead?" he asked, half-expecting an answer.
A faint sound—*thump*—reached Void's ears. Sun Wukong's heart, weak at first, started beating faster. Cracks spread across his stone body, revealing glowing magma lines flowing beneath the surface.
"Whoa... Cool," Void said, visibly impressed. The once-mythic figure now looked even more legendary, with his magma-lined body radiating heat.
Void watched as the Monkey King slowly stood up, breathing heavily. "I am the Stone Monkey," Sun Wukong declared, stretching out his hand. The golden staff, Ruyi Jingu Bang, vibrated and flew into his grasp.
Watching the iconic moment unfold before his eyes, Void couldn't help but smile. *What a sight*, he thought. *Too bad I'm the only one seeing this.*
Or am I? Void glanced toward a hidden corner. "Hmph, the camera man never dies," he muttered before letting the thought slip from his mind.
"I'm glad you survived," Void chuckled.
"Hehehe... Same to you. You made it out as well." Sun Wukong grinned back, his body now buzzing with energy. The Stone Monkey had broken through to the Quasi Peak Level Rank 1, his body humming like a giant engine.
"So, where to now?" Sun Wukong asked, clearly having made his choice. The Monkey King had decided to follow his new friend and leave this world behind.
"The Abyss," Void answered with a smile.
Just as they were about to step through the portal, a loud sound echoed in the distance. A bright golden light was shattered, and a soul emerged from the chaos. Both Void and Sun Wukong locked their gazes on it, their hunger for it undeniable.
The soul resembled Buddha, and seeing it made Void grin. "Today truly is a memorable day."
