Chapter 39 How strong is sun wukong?
---
**"Sun Wukong,"** Void murmured with a wide grin as he stepped through the portal. Despite his excitement, a small part of him was worried. The system had mentioned that Sun Wukong might be ranked at Rank 3 or 4, though it had sounded unsure. Void, however, took it as a definite statement.
Still, he couldn't resist the temptation. He had already visited an urban world and a knight-like world—Linkir's world—and now he was about to enter his first-ever cultivation world, a high-level one—or so he thought.
**Meanwhile, in another realm...**
Beneath the clouds lay a vast landscape, and standing amidst it all was a figure draped in armor, holding a golden staff. Sun Wukong, the legendary Monkey King, faced the Heavenly Army with the Jade Emperor at the palace on his seat.
The Heavenly Army was a formidable force, consisting of 100,000 soldiers, the 28 Constellations, Nezha, and the Four Heavenly Kings. Just as the battle was about to erupt, a massive portal tore open, and from it stepped a being cloaked in heavy armor, carrying a giant sword over his shoulder, 21 meters long.
The temperature around them shifted, and an oppressive heat spread out. The aura was similar to the monkey standing before the heavenly forces.
**"System, scan Sun Wukong,"** Void said, his voice calm, though inwardly, he was tense. If the Monkey King was truly a Rank 3 or 4, Void was ready to flee immediately.
**(Ding!)**
{**Host**: Sun Wukong | **Race**: Stone Monkey | **Rank**: 1 - High Level}
{**Strength**: High | **Stamina**: High | **Speed**: High}
{**Blessing**: Son of Destiny (known throughout the multiverse)}
{**Immortality**: Only applicable to those weaker or equally matched in power. He possesses 7 layers of immortality. Invincible at his level. A quasi-level being can only match him due to his immortality.}
**"What the..."** Void was shocked by the results. He had expected Sun Wukong to be much stronger. **"System, are you malfunctioning?"** he asked with a chuckle, though he was genuinely puzzled.
While the conversation between Void and the system sped by at the speed of light, only a second had passed in reality.
**(Host, I am functioning perfectly.)**
**"Then why is he so weak?"** Void asked, his disbelief growing.
**(Host, remember what I told you about how multiverses and universes are formed. They are shaped by the author's original thoughts. Everything follows the original creation, not fan fiction or remakes. Only the original story holds true in the formation of a universe.)**
Void's mind whirled as he processed the information. **"So this is the real Sun Wukong? I thought he was capable of destroying entire multiverses."**
**(Host, did he ever display such power in the original mythology?)**
Void frowned as he thought about it. **"No..."** he admitted.
**(Exactly.)**
Void sighed. Still, despite not living up to his overblown expectations, this Sun Wukong was a force to be reckoned with.
**"That invincibility at his level is quite the bug,"** Void muttered, amused. **"What a hack."**
**(Host, what about your power? You break directly into the quasi-level after each breakthrough.)**
**"Heh, relax, System. But Sun Wukong... he's basically immortal. I pity anyone who fights him."** Void laughed.
**(Only to those weaker or equal to him in power—like you.)**
Void's smile faded as he remembered that he was also at quasi-high Rank 1. Sun Wukong couldn't defeat him, but neither could he kill Sun Wukong. Injuring him might be possible, but Void doubted any wound would even leave a mark on the Monkey King's body.
**"Monkey,"** Void finally spoke. The Heavenly Soldiers, Nezha, and the Constellations held their breath, feeling the overwhelming aura Void had released earlier. Even Erlang Shen, known for being able to match Sun Wukong, was quiet.
**"Heh, move!"** Sun Wukong grinned, smashing his staff into the ground.
Void watched him with interest. Sun Wukong was still angry, eager to wage war against the heavens.
**"I'm not your enemy, Monkey. After all, you're a demon, like me,"** Void said, moving to stand beside him, his massive figure towering over the legendary Monkey King.
**"A demon?"** Sun Wukong eyed Void warily, sizing him up. **"I've never heard of a demon like you before."**
**"That's because I'm not from this world. I come from the Abyss. I am a primordial demon,"** Void replied, a twisted smile creeping onto his face. If Sun Wukong was truly this weak, why not bring him into the Abyss? He could become a mighty king—someone who could strike fear into the entire Omniverse.
**"Interesting..."** Sun Wukong's eyes gleamed with curiosity. **"So, what are you doing here?"**
Void's focus shifted from the Heavenly Army, though the Constellations and Nezha dared not speak under the weight of his oppressive aura.
**"For destruction,"** Void answered with a grin. The portal behind him remained open, as if the Abyss itself had taken a special interest in this universe.
After all, this was an immortal world.
**"Heh, nice. A friend!"** Sun Wukong laughed, leaping onto Void's shoulder. **"I am Sun Wukong."**
**"I am Void."**
**"I am the Great Sage, Equal to Heaven! And today, with my friend, the heavens will bow before me!"** Sun Wukong's voice bellowed as he declared his intent.
Void smirked, the arrogance of the Monkey King resonating with his own pride. **"Equal to Heaven? Sun Wukong, they're far too weak for that!"**
**"You're right. Let's attack!"** Sun Wukong exclaimed, leaping off Void's shoulder. Thanks to Void's arrival, the Butterfly Effect took hold, and Sun Wukong immediately transformed into a 30-meter-tall stone monkey, his golden staff growing in size as well.
Void appeared beside him, and Nezha, along with the Four Heavenly Kings, transformed too. The Heavenly Army was now useless in the face of such power.
**"Inform the Jade Emperor that the Monkey King has found a demon friend from another realm. Buddha must be informed,"** one of the commanders said, as a soldier bolted toward the Heavenly Palace.
**Boom!**n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
A massive clash erupted as Sun Wukong and Void collided with the Heavenly Kings. Nezha was in his full form, the constellations at the rear supporting them. Although Rank 2 beings weren't involved, the battle was intense. Weapons clashed, immortal arts unleashed, and cultivation techniques filled the air.
It was a full-scale brawl, and with Void's power added, the gods were beaten senseless until Erlang Shen appeared. Guanyin and her disciple didn't appear this time—thanks to the butterfly effect. History had changed.
"Dirty monkey… die!" Erlang shouted, slamming his weapon at Sun Wukong. But Sun Wukong didn't back down, swinging his staff with fierce determination.
Void, meanwhile, faced Nezha, the Four Heavenly Kings, and the 28 constellations, grinning widely.
**Boom!**
**Boom!**
**Boom!**
The fight dragged on for hours, but eventually, Void grew bored. He decided to end it. With swift precision, he killed each and every one of them, including the Heavenly Army. For his efforts, he was rewarded greatly—part of the reason he had taken the risk to come here in the first place.
Now, he was ready to break through to the peak of Rank 1.
Void quickly assisted Sun Wukong, and together, they took down Erlang in mere seconds.
"Dirty monkey! And you, otherworldly demon, both of you will be executed!" Erlang yelled, seeing Void's sword descending. He knew that if it struck, he would surely die.
"Buddha… Damn it, I forgot!" Void thought, but it was too late to stop the strike. Just as the sword was about to finish off Erlang, Void heard a voice that sent chills down his spine.
"You've gone too far, monkey... and you, otherworldly demon. Both of you will be sealed," the voice declared.
Void sighed. "The Buddha is still the Buddha, after all," he muttered. He and Sun Wukong were spared—allowed to live. This was a plot set in motion long ago, a story Sun Wukong had to embrace, leading him to the Journey to the West.
Suddenly, both Void and Sun Wukong found themselves in space, staring at five giant pillars descending from above. Void realized they were about to be sealed away. But, just when he braced himself for 500 years of confinement, the pillars vanished.
In an instant, they were back in front of a wounded Erlang. Buddha, however, was now surrounded by four massive beings, each over 100 meters tall. Void had no doubt these were Rank 2 demons, their four wings marking them as such.
"Amitabha," Buddha intoned, his body enlarging. "The world will be purged of its sins today," he declared as the demons laughed amongst themselves, launching their attack.
**Boom!**
The divine plane (heaven) shattered, and Void and the others fell.
"Kill Erlang. I'll go for the Jade Emperor," Void ordered. Sun Wukong nodded and charged at Erlang, while Void appeared in front of the Jade Emperor and swallowed him whole.
*(Host, no!)*
"What?" Void asked, frowning. "Will he survive?"
*(No, host. But that position is crucial. You've just given the world's will a direct path to kill you.)*
"What?" Void was stunned, but then it hit him—a sudden and immense pain that couldn't be described.
**Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!**
Void screamed, his voice echoing for miles as the land shook and forests ignited in flames. The sky darkened as his body began to shine with an unbearable light.
**Aaaarrrg!**
**Aaaarrrg!**
His body cracked, shattered, and then began to repair itself again. Memories of his past flashed through his mind as the pain intensified.
"How about you share a part of this pain," Void said through gritted teeth, his expression twisted like a crazed psychopath. The idea of watching someone else suffer was the only thing keeping him from losing his mind.
"Hehe… why not?" Sun Wukong grinned and appeared before Void. Void shook his head, thinking, *There's something about these sons of destiny—their IQ drops at the worst times.*
Void glanced at Sun Wukong's demon bloodline. It was not as pure as those from the prehistoric mythologies. In those times, beings like Pangu and the chaos demons had bloodlines that could at least match the Primordial Demons. But now, the highest available was a mere supreme-level bloodline, which was weak compared to the ancient beings.
Sun Wukong's bloodline was high-level but still fell short of Void's expectations.
"I hope you survive this... hehehe… I need to focus on surviving too," Void thought, cutting his fingers with his sword and letting his blood drip into Sun Wukong's open mouth.
A few moments passed.
"I feel nothing, Void, what did you—"
Sun Wukong couldn't finish his sentence before he, too, screamed in agony. His entire body was transforming, his bloodline enhancing beyond its former limits.
Two giant creatures stood side by side, screaming in excruciating pain—one a massive monkey, the other a humanoid demon.
Eventually, Void's pain subsided for a moment. His bloodshot eyes opened as he noticed the silence beside him. He turned stiffly to look at Sun Wukong.
The Monkey King had shrunk back to his normal size, his staff lying beside him.
"Sun Wukong... dead," Void murmured, his expression twisted in pain as the cycle of torment resumed.
