Chapter 193 - TELL THE TRUTH!
Chapter 193 – TELL THE TRUTH!
"Enter!" shouted Richard, motioning for the people outside to come into his room.
In just seconds the door was wide open and immediately made the owner of the room very surprised when several people entered the room.
"Mr Lucas, Mr Adley?"
Richard got up and looked seriously at Lucas and Adley in turn while putting on an astonished and questioning expression. Yes, how not? Even today he didn't have an appointment with them, but why did they suddenly come to his office and even barged straight into his room.
Richard's mind immediately focused on Ellena. 'Ah, is it possible that Lucas and Adley came because of that woman?' He thought.
Lucas and the four men who were accompanying him seemed to be walking slowly, but surely, towards Richard, who still looked a little taken aback. Lucas was flanked by Alex and Adley, while behind him were two well-built bodyguards with fierce looks.
They stopped right in front of Richard's desk. Stand up straight in a lined position as if facing an enemy who is ready to fight him.
Lucas glared at Richard, making him even more nervous. However, she still tried not to show those feelings in front of Lucas. Of course, because he didn't want to make Lucas and the other four men suspicious.
In contrast to Adley who looks relaxed and just stares blankly, just wants to show a neutral attitude. After all, Richard was a client of his business. He still tried to be friendly and respectful, because even those allegations weren't necessarily true.
Adley hoped that Lucas just wanted to find out about the photos, not just get into trouble with Richard.
"Hello, Mr Richard! How are you?" Lucas asked with an expression of displeasure. This was evident from the corner of his lips that parted, forming a bitter grin.
Richard furrowed his brows for a moment as if even more surprised by Lucas' attitude.
'How could they get in, without anyone telling me first. No one should have let them come here without my prior orders!' Richard grumbled to himself.
'Ah, could there be chaos out there?' Richard muttered again, still guessing.
"Mr. Lucas, why did you suddenly come here?" Richard asked, still staring in amazement at Lucas' face.
"Why, Sir? Can I not come here?" Lucas turned around asking and still didn't show his friendly attitude.
Meanwhile, Adley was still reluctant to answer their conversation. Moreover, Alex who always does not want to interfere too much, before getting a mandate from his superiors. He would only speak or act, when Lucas ordered him to.
"N-nothing like that, I'm just surprised that no one told me you were coming here." Richard replied a little nervously, but only briefly. He then curled his lips, forming a smile. Although the smile was a little forced, it still didn't reduce the charismatic level he had.
"Okay, I apologize for my impolite attitude. Welcome, Mr. Lucas," added Richard, holding out his hand, inviting Richard to shake hands.
Lucas didn't respond right away. She just glared at Richard's hand, as if reluctant to shake the man's hand. However, Adley briefly elbowed him so that he realized and was forced to welcome the outstretched hand of the man in front of him.
"Thank you, Mr Richard." Lucas replied dryly.
"Okay, let's sit there," said Richard as he turned his body to the left while raising his hand towards the sofa in his room.
"No need, Mr Richard!"
Richard had to undo the intention to leave that place when Lucas held back his steps. He swiftly refocused his gaze on Lucas.
"Why? Wouldn't we be more comfortable talking while sitting down, Sir?" Richard asked, frowning.
Seeing this, Adley immediately acted. He turned to Lucas and immediately made eye contact. Hoping Lucas would just comply with Richard's request. However, nothing. Lucas doesn't seem to care at all.
"I don't want to linger here. I'm not here on business, but there's something else I need to ask you, Sir!"
"What do you mean, Sir?"
Richard couldn't control his heartbeat, which was beating faster and faster. The feeling of nervousness and fear was now mixed and overcame him almost completely. He was increasingly convinced that Lucas' arrival in his office was none other than Ellena.
He then turned his gaze towards Adley who wore an uneasy expression. Demanding an answer when Lucas just stared cynically, without answering and explaining what his question was.
"Um … sorry, Mr. Richard, maybe our arrival is very disturbing your privacy here, but our coming here is also not without reason, but there are important things we need to ask," explained Adley taking over what should be done by Lucas.
It seemed that Adley really didn't want to see a fight between Lucas and Richard just because the matter wasn't clear enough.
"Okay. But would you please explain what the problem was if it wasn't for business?" Richard asked again calmly, after his emotions were almost provoked by Lucas' attitude.
We will see. He would not allow anyone who dared to wreak havoc in his office.
No one answered Richard's question, neither Lucas nor Adley. However, at least this time there was a response from Lucas. He reached into his coat pocket, pulling out an envelope containing pictures of Ellena and Richard.
"Perhaps you can explain this." Lucas said, holding out his hand firmly to Richard.
Of course Richard replied with a confused expression. Makin didn't understand where Lucas was talking. Is it true that his client came just to look for Ellena's whereabouts? He hoped his guess was wrong.
"What is it, Sir?" Richard asked, looking at Lucas questioningly.
"Could you take it first, before asking too much?" Lucas replied still showing a cynical attitude.
Perhaps the contents of the envelope didn't matter to Richard. However, seeing Lucas' enthusiasm for giving the envelope to him, he began to feel curious. In the end, he grabbed it and opened it with less enthusiastic gestures.
In just a split second, Richard's expression changed when he saw the pictures of him with Ellena. It certainly made him dumbfounded while looking at the photos one by one.
Richard didn't know how to explain all that, while he didn't want Lucas to know where Ellena was in his office. Besides, Ellena had also told him not to tell Lucas or Adley about it.
"What does all this mean, Sir?" Richard asked, holding up the photos in his hands in the air, demanding an explanation from Lucas.
However, Richard's attitude made Lucas put on a fierce expression. How could she get such a question from Richard, shouldn't she be the one asking that?
"I should be the one asking. What do the photos mean? Can you explain it to me?" Lucas asked again turning the question around.
"Sorry, Sir, but I still don't get what you mean." Richard replied stupidly.
"I don't think you're a fool, Mr Richard." Lucas replied unwillingly. Once again he lifted the corner of his lips, forming a disapproving grin.
"Let me explain!" Adley said firmly. He couldn't stand being in such a heated situation, his job now was to try to temper Lucas and Adley's emotions before they escalated.
Lucas and Richard's attention immediately turned to Adley. Lucas just stared blankly and didn't have a problem with his friend's attitude, while Richard looked hopeful, even though he could already guess what Adley was going to say.
"So how about it, Mr Adley, can you explain what all this means?" Richard asked again without wanting to give up, even though he was very good at acting like he was hiding an attitude that might make Lucas suspicious.
"Is it true that the person in the photo is you, Sir?"
Adley's question this time managed to make Richard gasp. Ah, looks like he can't dodge anymore. Of course he would only be in big trouble if he dared to dodge the question.
"Yes, Sir." Richard replied without the slightest hesitation.
This made Lucas heave a sigh of relief, hoping that Richard would continue to tell the truth.
"But why? Is there a problem with this photo?" Richard asked again, just to confirm his guess.
"That means you know the woman in the photo?"
Richard was stunned by the question. He didn't know what to say this time. Ah, looks like he should avoid such questions.
"Where is she now?"
Before Richard could respond, Lucas had asked another question which made Richard look even more confused and scared. Seeing his client's attitude, Lucas was increasingly convinced that Richard and Ellena did know each other. How he was very angry when he saw the portrait of Richard holding Ellena's hand.
"No, Sir! I don't know where she is," replied Richard, which made Lucas widen his eyes perfectly.
Lucas took a step forward while giving him a scornful look, showing a grim expression.
"Tell the truth!" Lucas said that he couldn't act normal anymore. Even more so when he saw the lines of lies shining from the pair of hazel eyes in front of him. He really couldn't wait to meet Ellena.
"I really don't know where Patricia is right now." Richard replied, still not acknowledging the truth.
It suddenly made Lucas pound the table with a bang, causing a loud, deafening sound.
No doubt the voice was also caught by Ellena who was busy doing her homework in her room. Hearing the commotion, Ellena immediately got up and peeked into Richard's room from behind the window.
"Lucas?"
Ellena's eyes widened when she found familiar people in the boss's room.. Didn't expect that she could clearly see the figure of the husband she had missed so much to be there.
