Chapter 1164: Drunken Pearl (3)
Ariel trembled when she heard this and she went behind me as if she was trying to hide herself.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
It was just that she was taller than me in the first place, so it wasn't as if this was a good way for her to hide herself.
I just calmly looked at Puffer as if I was already expecting her to say this.
After a moment of silence, I said, "Are you scared?"
Puffer slightly knitted her brows when she heard this and she looked at me with this look on her face as if she wasn't happy with what I said.
I could feel the way that Ariel gripped my clothes from behind, but I didn't say anything as I waited for Puffer's response.
Then all of a sudden, Puffer broke out in laughter.
This laughter wasn't angry laughter, but rather it was the laugh of someone who was genuinely amused.
There was a surprised and confused look that appeared on Ariel's face, but I just had a calm smile on mine.
From the game, I knew what kind of answer would work with her.
She was the kind of person that liked to face someone that had a bit of fight to them, so mild provocations were actually the way to go. It was only through pushing back against her like this that I would be able to raise her affection quickly.
This was the same as in the game.
After laughing for a while, she suddenly stopped and looked at me to say, "Why would I be scared? I wouldn't be scared of the Merman King if he came here, so why would I be afraid of his daughter?"
This time, it was Ariel's turn to slightly knit her brows, but she held herself back since she didn't know what was happening here.
The most important thing was that she didn't know who Puffer really was, so she didn't dare do anything to her.
I just simply gave a nod in response before saying, "As expected of one of the Five Great Witches of the Sea. It seems that the power at the tip of your fingers can't be
underestimated."
A shocked look appeared on Ariel's face the moment that she heard this, though the one that I said this to had a calm look on her face. There was even a faint smile that appeared when she heard this.
Even if Ariel was a tomboy princess who liked to cause trouble, she was still a princess of the Merman Empire.
She still had some knowledge about the things in this underwater world, which included the matters regarding the sea witches.
Though she would be a fool if she didn't know about the Five Great Witches of the Sea. That was just how much weight that name carries when it comes to the underwater sea witch world.
These five were the top five sea witches, the ones that led the rest.
After a moment of silence, Puffer revealed another seductive smile before saying, "It seems like you know quite a bit about us. Does that mean that you also know about our abilities?"
I just calmly looked at her before saying, "If I didn't know, would I be standing in front of you like this?"
"Ha, ha, ha, very good. It seems that at least you have the courage." Puffer said at first before suddenly saying in a cold voice, "But will that courage be enough to achieve what you want to achieve?"
Puffer sat up and said with a serious voice, "Human, what do you hope to accomplish here? You should know what kind of place this is, so why did you come here to see me?"
"I want to find someone." I said in a calm voice.
Puffer raised a brow before asking, "Who did you want to see?"
"The former crown prince." I said once again in a calm voice.
Puffer slightly knitted her brows upon hearing this and she looked at me with this look on her face, almost as if she was trying to see through me. However, I just calmly looked right back at her with the same expression on my face.
The hidden look in her eyes was as if she was trying to figure out why I was looking for the former crown prince.
After all, as far as she could tell, there was no reason for me to do something like this.
I was a human and even if I was related to Ariel, who was the princess of the Merman Empire, there should be no reason for me to be related to the former crown prince.
It didn't seem to make any sense at all.
So slowly, Puffer turned to Ariel as if she was trying to get some information from her.
It was just that she wasn't able to get a single thing.
Ariel had been confused and shocked from the very beginning, so it was clear that she didn't have any clue of what was happening.
The one that was in charge was clearly the human, so none of this made any sense to Puffer at
all.
After a long moment of silence, the expression on Puffer's face finally changed.
The new expression that she showed was...
She no longer seemed to care about any of this. It was as if she had given up on trying to figure out what was happening and would just see where this would go.
That was the difference between the sea witches and the Merman Empire.
They had far less to consider since they were a more scattered group, so they didn't think too
deeply about things and just went along with the punches.
After this long moment of silence, Puffer said, "I'm sure that you should know what kind of things we want in return for any services that we provide."
With a smile, I waved my hand and pulled something out of my Storage Ring.
The moment that Puffer saw this, her eyes lit up.
