Chapter 1965: I Was Wrong About You!
Chapter 1965: I Was Wrong About You!
Tang Wulin's breathing was beginning to accelerate.
Never did he think that Gu Yuena would target him like this. Prior to emerging from the human camp, he had already fully braced himself, even going as far as to put himself in a near-numb state in which he no longer cared whether he lived or died.
However, he still couldn't help but be struck by a sharp pang of pain in his heart as Gu Yuena pitted his closest friends against him.
He wasn't concerned that he wouldn't be able to defeat his friends. Instead, he was deeply hurt by Gu Yuena's actions.
Was she really seeing him as nothing more than an enemy? Otherwise, why would she do something so cruel?
Meanwhile, Di Tian was flying back from the distance with a severely swollen cheek, and a shameful look immediately appeared in his eyes upon hearing what Gu Yuena had just said. Only now did he truly understand the purpose behind these three rounds of challenges.
It was clear that Tang Wulin was the biggest impediment to the soul beast army, and even Gu Yuena wasn't guaranteed to be able to defeat him. Thus, she was using the first two rounds of challenges to wear down Tang Wulin and disrupt his mindset. After that, Gu Yuena would face him in the final round, and the chances of securing victory would be much higher.
What a brilliant plan!
Once she defeated Tang Wulin, she would be able to fuse with him to resurrect the Dragon God, and there was a very good chance that she would be able to establish a new Divine Realm on the basis of the Douluo Continent, one that belonged only to soul beasts. Once that happened, it didn't matter whether the humans kept their soul technology or not.
All of a sudden, Di Tian was feeling very incapable and inadequate.
Everything that was a problem or an obstacle in his eyes had been easily brushed aside by Gu Yuena, and in terms of planning ability, she was surely on Tang San's level!
Setting aside everything else, the timing of the instigation on this occasion was perfect, allowing them to immediately seize the upper hand.
One familiar figure after another emerged before Tang Wulin, and he felt as if a sharp knife were slicing into his heart.
His face was slightly pale as he appraised Gu Yuena. "I was wrong about you!"
Gu Yuena remained expressionless as she declared, "Begin!"
As soon as her voice trailed off, her eyes instantly took on a nine-colored hue, and the eight people standing before Tang Wulin immediately sprang into action.
The first to act was A'Ruheng.
Immensely powerful blood essence fluctuations erupted from his back, propelling him directly toward Tang Wulin like a shooting star. At such close range, it was impossible to evade, and Tang Wulin merely raised his left hand with a cold expression.
A massive burst of energy erupted out of his palm, and A'Ruheng was stopped cold in his tracks.
One had to realize that A'Ruheng's body was already infinitely approaching the godly level, yet his advance had been completely halted by Tang Wulin using a single hand.
At the same time, two figures flew toward Tang Wulin from either side. Dazzling holy light erupted forth as three pairs of pristine white wings appeared on Yue Zhengyu's back, and he gripped onto his holy sword with both hands before slashing it through the air, sending a streak of tremendous holy power surging directly toward him.
On the other side, Yuanen Yehui was expanding drastically, reaching a height of over 10 meters tall during her flight, and a projection of a Titan Giant Ape appeared behind her as she thrust a fist forward, fusing her essence, energy, and spirit as one to unleash the most devastating Divine Titan Fists.
Even though they had been controlled by Gu Yuena, their combat prowess hadn't been affected in the slightest, nor had their teamwork and chemistry.
A Starlight Shackle immediately linked up Shrek's Six Monsters with A'Ruheng and Sima Jinchi, and at the same time, a massive starwheel appeared beneath Tan Wulin's feet.
At this point, Tang Wulin was facing attacks from both left and right, while the absolute control ability that was the starwheel was present beneath him, so it was impossible for him to evade, and he seemed to have fallen into a dire situation.
Even the weakest of Shrek's Six Monsters were currently Hyper Douluos, and they all possessed four-word battle armor that had been forged for them by Tang Wulin.
As such, in full flight, all of them possessed Limit Douluo level power, and their exceptional teamwork meant that their combined powers far exceeded the sum of their constituent parts.
However, just as they were extremely familiar with Tang Wulin, the inverse also applies.
Tang Wulin abruptly stepped forward, taking him out of the scope of the starwheel as soon as it appeared. However, doing so took him even closer to Yuanen Yehui's Divine Titan Fists and Yue Zhengyu's Holy Light Slash.
His arms rapidly thickened as he thrust his left hand toward Yue Zhengyu, and a dull explosion rang out amid a burst of golden light, causing the space on Yue Zhengyu's side to tremor violently, while his Holy Light Slash was completely shattered.
This was Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Vibrational Explosion!
At the same time, his right hand was thrust toward Yuanen Yehui, unleashing five peerlessly sharp claw projections that threatened to tear through this entire world.
The might of the Divine Titan Fists was instantly nullified, while Yuanen Yehui was forced to retreat by the oncoming claw projections, and only after unleashing several more punches was she able to dispel Tang Wulin's attack.
These were Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Dreadclaws!
With his powerful Golden Dragon King abilities, Tang Wulin had forced back both Yuanen Yehui and Yue Zhengyu while also avoiding Xu Xiaoyan's control.
However, he was facing more than just four opponents. Four more figures had already appeared at different points around him, and high up in the sky, a star descended with an aura of peerless sharpness, falling upon Tang Wulin in the blink of an eye.
This was Ye Xinglan's Sword Star Fall!
Down below, a figure emerged out of thin air before lashing out upward with his twin dragon daggers, while the gigantic Dragonslaying Saber that was imbued with devastating power crashed toward Tang Wulin from the front.
At the same time, a massive steamer had opened up behind him and was about to devour him whole.
This was clearly an extremely unfair match, and even Di Tian was stunned at the sight of the formidable display being put on by Tang Wulin's eight opponents.
At the same time, he couldn't help but ask himself whether he would be able to withstand such an assault if he were in Tang Wulin's shoes.
Perhaps it would be possible in the pre-battle-armor era, but four-word battle armor provided far too significant enhancements for Soul Masters.
The human race had developed far too rapidly! If they hadn't hatched this plot to control so many powerful Soul Masters, there was no way that they would be able to contend with the human race; just the Tang Sect and Shrek Academy alone would be enough to defeat the soul beast army.
At this point, Di Tian no longer harbored even the slightest hint of discontent toward Gu Yuena.
There was no doubt that her course of action was the best one, and if it weren't for her, the soul beasts wouldn't have any chances at all.
He could only hope now that a good outcome awaited them on the other side.
He was in full support of the five conditions that Gu Yuena had proposed; only by significantly setting back human society could soul beasts thrive in this world. In fact, in his eyes, the best course of action would be to slaughter more humans and significantly decrease their population. Currently, the number of soul beasts was very limited, and it would take countless years for them to return to their heyday; if the human race were to pull off something such as producing another godslayer missile during this time, then they would pose a major threat once again.
It was clear that the humans wouldn't agree to these conditions, and he was actually happy to see this as that would give them an excuse to wipe out the entire human race.
The most significant roadblock standing in their way was Tang Wulin, and once he was defeated, no one would be able to stop them.
