Chapter 298 Mounts

Chapter 298 Mounts

Jake's eyes glinted as looked at the gigantic face that roared at him from inches away.

Spit flew onto his face but Jake didn't as much as flinch, smiling lightly.

In front of him was a dinosaur, a little larger than him. It looked exactly like its parent did, with two racks of razor sharp teeth shining bright white.

Behind him, another set of roars reminded him that there were two that he brought from the secret realm.

"Good. Good. They have been growing very nicely." Jake chuckled as he leaned forward, stroking the bound dinosaur.

When Jake swept his hand through the scaly face of the dinosaur, it rattled violently, trying its best to break free out of the iron chain binds that covered its face and its body.

"Good boy." Jake said as he looked back at Beast Master Moran.

"When can they get to the Fourth Tier? Or the fifth? If they can…" Jake asked.

"Do not worry, Baron. They are of excellent blood. They will definitely each the fifth tier. If they are raised right, and are put in their element, they might even have the chance to get to the peak of the fifth tier." Beast Master Moran said.

"And how long will that take? These beasts will be extremely important for the expedition to the west. You know how important that is." Jake smiled and asked.

"A few months. That is because I am doing my best diverting resources just for growth. But such accelerated growth will mean that they need to consolidate their position. They need to fight and adapt to their bodies."

"It is like if a baby suddenly became twenty years old. It doesn't know anything. It hasn't learnt anything. These babies are the same." The beast master said as he came closer to the beast.

There was just an iron colored waist height wall that blocked them and the dinosaur.

He opened the door, walking into the stable without any hesitation. But the dinosaur didn't rattle nearly as much as it did when Jake touched it.

"They are still new to the world. They don't understand it. All they have seen is this artificial light and walls around it. To let it grow truly, you need to take it out."

Jake nodded and looked at the second dinosaur absentmindedly.

"A few more months. The next big update will take some time. But when it comes, we should be ready enough to get to the world giant with ease." Jake made a mental note to himself.

"And what of the bigger problem?" Jake asked as he looked at the main stable that was at the center of attention.

It was a much bigger section than the other stables, covered in hay. The stable had only one item inside it: a giant, silver colored egg.

There were some discolorations along it, but there was not so much as a crack on it though.

"The mysterious egg that you brought, Baron? I truly must ask you, how did you chance upon these incredible bloodlines. There will be dukes and kings who will go crazy if they know just what you have here." The Beast Master said.

"I am sure that if you were to ever think about selling any of these three beasts, there would be suitors lining up from the seven stars to the desert Kingdoms. If you consider it, please do tell me."

Jake shook his head and looked at the beast master with raised eyebrows.

"Please do not cross your limits, beast master. Tell me. How much longer before I can see this egg finally hatch?" Jake asked.

"It was a year, last I checked. I hope that that has changed a lot." Jake murmured.

"Of course, Baron. There seems to be a stimulant that works. The hay that we have transported from the Seven Stars is working wonders!" The beast master nodded.

"The estimate has cut down the time to almost five months! But even after we reach five months, I suggest that you have to wait a year before you see its true potential come to light." The old man said with excitement apparent in his eyes.

"A year? That long? What do you want to do? No mount takes that long to grow to fighting shape." Jake asked.

"No mount takes a year, Baron, but what you have here has the potential to be a Kingdom protecting guardian. For something that great, the best possible move is to raise it like it was supposed to be raised.

I would suggest taking it to small raids, making sure it sources its food organically through hunting, and developing a bond through fighting. If you do everything right, then you will be able to raise a true monster." The beast master said.

"And there are also rumors in the beast taming circles that there has been advancement in the quest for the Divine Cradle. If someone does indeed obtain that treasure, then I would very much suggest you try to rally them to help you out."

"Someone is about to obtain a divine item?" Jake asked, shocked at the suddenly revelation.

A divine weapon. Something that not a single player had ever owned. Not in the ten years of Jake's previous life. And definitely not now.

Divine weapons were just a different breed of weapon than legendary weapons, just because of their origin.

If they used a divine weapon, it was only if they had the permission of the god that it belonged to.

Jake was absolutely sure that this person who was about to obtain the Divine Cradle was almost definitely an NPC, because no player was qualified for that.

Not a single player had true devotion toward the gods to obtain a divine weapon even if they were to chance upon it.

Jake just nodded and turned around.

"Well, let's see in five months then. Good work."
