Wisp! Awaken in the Magical World

Chapter 81: Don't you think?

As mentioned before, Alvin and Milia will have to jump above the mist so that Linfel can recast the Water Bubbles and fill their outer shell with Red Magic Energy. The Water Bubbles only covered their heads, so it was quite the task to jump while both Alvin and Milia shared the same one.

*Zin!*

It was then that Alvin felt a hot sensation on the back of his neck. It was Milia's flame sword, Nori. He acted on his own and was ready to cut Alvin's head right there and then. "Boy, you better not have any funny ideas."

Felia instantly complained. "You shit! Can't you just shut up?"

"Like hell I will!" Nori didn't care, though. No one would take Milia from him. "Let's get over with it and jump!"

Alvin agreed with some sweat on his face. Nori definitely wasn't joking. "L-Let's jump... then."

Milia, feeling just as hot, but for another reason, nodded slightly. "Y-Yes, let's do it."

Fortunately, it was a lot easier to jump above the mist with their Magic Energy during the day since the Decayed Magic Energy accumulated much closer to the ground. After jumping just four or five meters, they were already out, allowing Linfel to remake the Water Bubbles around Milia and Alvin's heads separately.

Of course, all of that happened while the wasps that Linfel was controlling followed them around. When they landed on the ground, Linfel quickly spoke. "Alright, I can talk if I have to control only two Water Bubbles. Just run. We need to catch up to everyone."

Alvin and Milia nodded while Nori and Felia followed. Felia passed almost all her Magic Energy to Linfel and then disconnected from Alvin, only sitting on his shoulder this time. After all, the others don't know that Alvin can connect to Linfel and Felia at the same time.

Further ahead, Claus was already feeling tired. He wasn't anywhere near as good as Linfel at controlling the water bubbles. His only salvation was his and his familiar's Level Three magic Energy. Nonetheless, they were moving a lot slower.

"Do you think they are alive?" Julius couldn't help but ask. "Milia suddenly ran away after Alvin. Perhaps she helped them?"

"Forget them!" Vera spoke, although there was a slight tinge of worry on her face. As cold as she was, it was a fact she went through a lot with this group. Not to mention, Alvin volunteered to act as bait. He can't really force herself to hate someone like that. "If we don't make out, then their sacrifice will have been for nothing! Focus on escaping the Decayed Magic Energy range."

Falagita and Warthon looked at each other and sighed. The two felt the most useless at the moment.

*Roar!*

Suddenly, the sound of Magic Beasts came from the right side. Falagita, Vera, and Warthon instantly took the front. Claus was their only level three, but he couldn't do anything else other than control the Water Bubbles. Julius once again stayed behind them, ready to give support since he wasn't good at fighting.

"There is no such thing as Level Two Magic Beasts in a Decayed Magic Energy environment..." Falagita couldn't help but comment as her hands trembled a little.

Vera and Warthon gripped their Familiar Weapons and continued to move with Claus and the others. Finally, four shadows appeared in the mist and ran after them. They looked like giant lizards, although they had six legs and two tails while their skin seemed somewhat dark silver. "Iron Lizards! Careful with their teeth. They are venomous," Claus quickly warned.

The closest Lizard didn't give them time to think and pounced at their group as soon as it got close enough. Its speed was incredible even though its body was quite big. Claus could tell that Level Three Magic Energy circulated inside its body, and he couldn't do anything to help while keeping the water bubbles.

Vera didn't feel as helpless, though. She shot forward, and Sando, her Familiar, changed into his Katar Form. Water Element gathered around Vera before Vera punched forward. A spear of water was generated, going straight for the Lizard's eye while he was in the air due to having pounced.

*Pft!*

The water spear easily pierced the Iron Lizard's eyes, who wasn't used to fighting such opponents. It missed its mark and fell to the ground, rolling quite a few meters while shaking its head in pain. The previous Iron Lizard mess affected the other three behind him, who collided with it.

Julius, Falagita, and Wharton didn't lose that chance. Falagita and Wharton, both having Wind Element Affinity, used the same strategy as Milia did previously. Two spheres of highly concentrated Wing Element were shot at the Iron Lizard. Following that, Julius used his magic Energy to create a Fire Lance and shot it at the sphere.

*Boom, boom!*

"Keep running! Ignore the wasps for now. Aim for somewhere elevated so we can move freely," Vera ordered. She knew that their attacks wouldn't hold the Iron Lizards for long. Their level was just too low to cause any real damage.

Claus gritted his teeth and released even more of his Level Three Magic Energy to try to keep the Water Bubbles running while they moved faster than before. However...

*Zush! Zush! Zush!*

From within the smoke caused by the explosion, three shadows jumped out, all three with burnt marks over their bodies. The explosions earlier only served to enrage them even more. The fourth Lizard was still shaking his head in pain, so it didn't follow.

*Ban, ban, ban, ban...*

The Three Iron Lizards swiftly surrounded Claus and the others. In the end, they didn't have to worry about the Decayed Magic Energy, so it was easy for them to trap everyone.

Claus's group quickly made a circle around Claus. They had to protect Claus above all else, or the Water Bubbles would be gone. They can't absorb Magic Energy from the environment for obvious reasons either, so their reserves in their cores were all they had to use. The Iron Lizard, seeing their prey trapped, finally attacked from all three sides!

*Bzzzzzz!*

However, it was at this moment that a sound capable of scaring all Magic Beasts in this region echoed in the surroundings. The three Iron Lizards, who seemed furious a moment ago, instantly changed. They looked in the direction of the sound hissed. While at that, they all took steps back slowly, unwilling to give up their prey.

*BZZZZZZZZZZ!!!*

However, the sound increased even more, showing that their fear was even closer.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush, zush, zush, zush...*

Finally, hundreds of Purple Wing Horned Wasps flew from the mist, going straight for the meal in the distance.

Seeing that, the Lizards finally gave up and turned around to flee. In this place, nothing can go against the rule of the Purple Wing Horned Wasps! Level matters not!

Claus and the others felt even more helpless. They couldn't run because they were surrounded by the Iron Lizards. By the time the Lizards finally decided to run away, the Wasps were already all over them. All they could do was increase the amount of Magic Energy around their bodies to act as shields.

*Bzzzz!*

Falagita saw the wasps getting to her and closed her eyes. However... the stings she was expecting didn't happen. When she opened her eyes again, she saw the wasps flying through the gaps in her group, flying really close. Yet, not a single one attacked them. Instead, they began to fly around in an orderly manner.

It was as if they were making a protective shell so no other wasps would get close.

*Step, step, step...*

"Oh! Look, I told you I could feel their Magic Energies," Linfel spoke as Alvin and Milia approached. The impressive thing was that they were barely visible. That's because even more wasps flew around their group. Only when Linfel's group returned to Claus's group's side did the wasps spread, forming a larger protective circle around them. "Hello, everyone!

Long time no see! The air, the view, the animals... It's a beautiful day for a stroll, don't you think?"
