Chapter 69 - DON'T EVER HURT HER!

Ellena breathed a sigh of relief when she heard the positive explanation from Doctor Andre who had treated her mother from the start. Finally, what she had been afraid of for the past two weeks was answered. Seeing her mother recovering made her smile happily.

Even so, Ellena is still worried about her mother's condition. After being in a coma for a long time, her mother may not be able to fully recover. From time to time the disease caused by excessive headaches, could attack her mother's body again.

Ellena began to think that she should take extra care of her mother. She didn't want it to happen again. Haunted by feelings of worry about someone who is very important in her life makes her almost crazy and down in the face of it all.

"Thank you for the help of doctors and other medical teams, because your efforts my mother was able to come back from a coma," said Ellena with a sad look that was thrown at Doctor Andre.

"Indeed, it is God who heals, we are only trying our best. We are very lucky because God hears and answers our prayers, so Mrs. Briana can return in a better condition than before," replied Doctor Andre with a big smile. "Congratulations to Mrs. Briana for having made it through the difficult times during the coma, I hope Mrs. can come home soon." He added as he turned to Briana.

"Thank you, Doc." Briana answered quietly.

Three days passed. After Briana's condition was declared to be much better than before, she was allowed to go home.

Lucas and Ellena took Briana and Martin to their house for a while, because there was no way Ellena would let her mother go back to the village while she was still recovering like that.

Lucas immediately picked up Briana and put her in a wheelchair as soon as they got out of the car. Given her still very weak condition, he couldn't possibly let his mother-in-law walk, even for such a short distance.

Without waiting for orders, Lucas immediately pushed the wheelchair into his house. Beside him was Ellena who accompanied and helped him push the wheelchair. Meanwhile, Martin seemed to be following them from behind while carrying a tote bag containing his mother's clothes.

In contrast to Martin who looks normal and only focuses on paying attention to Ellena and Lucas who are walking in front of him, Briana actually looks around in several directions.

Seeing the house building with all the very luxurious ornaments made Briana surprised and almost didn't want to blink her eyes. Set foot in the house, of course like a dream for her. In fact, she could not believe that her daughter could live in such a luxurious house.

"This is your house?" Briana slightly tilted her head, looking at Lucas and Ellena in turn.

"That's right, Ma'am," Lucas replied, flashing a smile like Ellena did.

Briana refocused her gaze forward. "What a luxurious house you have." He complimented later, but there was no response from Lucas and Ellena.

Briana's nose accidentally inhaled the scent of roses wafting in the front garden. The aroma really gives a calming effect and is very soothing for the soul.

Not only that. After entering the house, Briana was again surprised by some of the luxurious furniture in it. A set of classic retro-styled gray sofa looks neatly designed in the living room. On the right side of the sofa, there is a shelf that contains several aesthetic displays such as flowers and several miniatures of different types. Ah, it's really beautiful to the eye. Not to mention other ornaments that also beautify the room.

"Good afternoon, Mr and Mrs," said Joana who suddenly appeared before them, right after they were in the living room.

Ellena and her mother reflexively diverted their attention and returned Joana's greeting right away. Briana didn't know the woman yet, but judging by her appearance, she could already confirm that Joana was a maid in the house.

Lucas immediately stopped the footsteps and the activity of pushing the wheelchair, then turned his attention to Joana.

"Please help Martin carry the bag." Lucas said to Joana, then looked back.

"Yes, Sir." Joana immediately heeded the employer's orders and immediately approached Martin at that very moment. "Young Master, let me carry the bag." He said as he grabbed the bag from Martin's hand.

"Thank you." Martin also gave the bag to Joana.

"I'll take mom to the room." Lucas pushed the wheelchair back and took Briana to the guest room which was located on the 1st floor, right beside his room.

"Elle, could you please take Martin to his room?" Lucas asked Ellena, before he entered the room.

"Where is my room anyway?" Martin's question instantly made them look back, before Ellena managed to respond to Lucas' request.

"Your room is upstairs. Are you going there alone?" Lucas looked up questioningly.

"Where's my sister's room?" Martin turned his gaze to Ellena and gave her a questioning look.

"Your sister's room, it's next door to this room." Lucas interrupted, pointing to his room.

His words suddenly made Ellena turned around and was a little stunned. It turned out that Lucas was quick to respond to Martin's question as if she knew the meaning behind her daughter question.

"What about Brother-in-law's room?" Martin asked again innocently, suddenly making Lucas and Ellena widen their eyes perfectly.

However, Lucas quickly changed his expression with a slight chuckle. "What are you talking about? Of course Ellena and me live in the same room." He lied.

"You two live in the same room? I don't think so." Martin quipped, rolling his eyes disapprovingly.

The statement that came out of Martin's mouth, no doubt stole Briana's attention. The middle-aged woman immediately turned her head back, looking at her son. "You are nothing. How can a husband and wife not live in the same room." She reminded Martin.

Meanwhile, Ellena was silent and had no intention of responding to her brother's insinuation. She was just stunned to watch their debate with a heart that felt a little pounding because she was afraid that Martin's words would be taken seriously by her mother.

"Yes, it's possible, Ma'am. Aren't there a lot of married couples now who don't live in the same room? In fact, many of them prefer to spend time with other men or women out there," Martin answered simply. In fact, he just realized that his mouth had just uttered inappropriate words in front of his mother.

"Don't be silly! You can't compare your brother to them!" said Briana as if she did not accept her son's words.

"I didn't mean it like that, Ma'am. I was just reminding them, maybe they forgot how to live life as a married couple in general." Martin argued, looking for an excuse.

"You calm down! I know very well how to build a proper household. In fact, I can also treat your sister well. Do you need proof?"

Not wanting Martin to go too far, Lucas immediately responded to the young man's banal remark. If he continued to let Martin tease her, it was very likely that her secret with Ellena would soon be exposed in front of Briana.

"Proof?" Martin then looked away briefly and turned back to Lucas. "Do I need that? I don't think so!" He added firmly.

"Martin, speak politely to your brother-in-law!" said Ellena, who had been unable to bear to see her brother's attitude, who had deliberately wanted to make fun of her and Lucas.

"You are very difficult to advise," said Briana, shaking her head.

"Ssh ...." Martin sighed in frustration, before he finally said, "Okay, looks like I need some rest. Will Madam show me to the room?" He added while frowning as if he was waiting for an answer from Ellena.

"I'll take you with me, but after my mother rest," replied Ellena in a curt tone.

Ellena went straight to her mother, then she took the wheelchair from Lucas' hands. With a wandering mind, he pushed the wheelchair and led his mother into a very neat and clean room. The white color seems to dominate the room with all the luxury European-style furniture.

Lucas helped lift and lay his mother-in-law on the king size bed. He then covered part of the frail body with a cream colored blanket.

"Ma'am, just rest here. If you need anything, you can call Elle or Joana, the maids in this house," Lucas explained as he removed his hands from the blanket that had been perfectly attached to his mother-in-law's body.

"Thank you, son. You have been very considerate and caring for Mother. Ellena is very lucky to have such a caring and wonderful husband like you." Briana again smiled happily looking at Ellen and Lucas who were now standing side by side beside her. A single sentence of praise escaped his mouth for Lucas.

"Mother praises me too much. In fact, I am the lucky one to have a very kind wife like your daughter. Thank you for giving birth to a beautiful woman for me." Lucas replied without the slightest awkwardness.

There wasn't the slightest hint of a lie that radiated from Lucas's face at this time. I don't know what made him so brave to express his feelings in front of his mother-in-law.

It suddenly made Ellena stunned staring at her for a moment. She couldn't believe that those words came out of Lucas' mouth, without the look of hypocrisy she caught on the man's face.

"You are indeed a very suitable couple. May God always bless your household. Please take care of Ellena, don't ever hurt her!" Briana looked at Lucas expectantly and the man immediately responded with an open smile.

"Your daughter will be fine with me. Trust me!" Lucas replied confidently.

"I believe in you," jawab Briana whispered.
