Chapter 49 - WHAT A STRANGE WOMAN!
"Lucas wait a minute!" asked Ellena as they were about to get into the car. Lucas immediately turned to look at her with a questioning expression. "I have to buy something first," she added as if she understood Lucas' expression at that time.
"Is this the thing you wanted to buy?" Lucas held out the shopping bag in his hand, which made Ellena frown and reach for the bag a little hesitantly. Yes, doubt if the items Lucas bought match the items she would buy.
Ellena immediately saw the contents of the shopping bag and how she was very surprised when she found several packs of sanitary napkins inside. She then immediately looked up, staring at Lucas in disbelief. How could Lucas have known what she needed at that moment? She also could hardly believe that Lucas, who incidentally was a cold CEO, actually dared to buy sanitary napkins for her, in large quantities anyway.
"Lucas? You?" Ellena was slightly stunned to see Lucas' face. "How do you know what I need right now? Didn't I tell you?" she asked in surprise.
"Not important. Come on, go home!" Lucas immediately opened the car door for Ellena.
Once again, Ellena was surprised by Lucas' attitude this time. I don't know why the man suddenly treated her like a queen?
"Come on! How long are you going to stand here?" Lucas asked when he found Ellena who was just stunned staring at the car door, which made Ellena instantly wake up.
"Okay," Ellena whispered as she stepped closer to the car. However, before going up, she looked back first, looking at Keenan who was still standing there watching her.
'Goodbye, Ken. I hope the universe still blesses us to stay together,' Ellena muttered hopefully.
Ellena then immediately got into the car, along with Lucas. Not long after, Lucas immediately started the engine and immediately took the car out of the convenience store area.
A few minutes into the journey, they had nothing to say. It seems, they are reluctant to speak first. However, occasionally they seem to steal glances, especially with Ellena who is still very curious about Lucas' attitude tonight. In fact, before that the man was more often cold to her.
"Lucas," Ellena whispered, starting to speak. However, Lucas did not respond and was still focused on the direction of the steering wheel.
'Why is he turning cold again?' Ellena thought.
"Lucas, thank you for buying me what I need," said Ellena as she turned to the side when she realized that she hadn't had time to thank him.
"Hm ...." Lucas began to respond, though not with words or sentences. His eyes are still focused on the future.
"Thank you also because you have given me the opportunity to talk with Keenan," said Ellena still with the same gaze.
Lucas fell silent again. His expression suddenly turned sour. I don't know why he changes so fast. One moment it's good, the next moment it suddenly becomes fierce. For a moment he was gentle and considerate, but quickly turned back to being fierce and like he didn't care. Ellena became difficult to guess the man's true personality.
"Honestly, I don't like seeing you act like that in front of Keenan. After all, he and I still have a relationship and we...." Ellena didn't continue her words, when Lucas suddenly turned his focus towards her with a piercing gaze as if do not like.
"Sorry, I mean you shouldn't have said that." Ellena who understood the meaning of Lucas' gaze immediately corrected her words. "You should have let me tell Keenan about it myself," she added later.
Instead of responding to Ellena's words, Lucas actually accelerated the speed of the wheel. 'Do I really care? She likes it or not, it's none of my business! I just did what I wanted to do,' Lucas grumbled to himself.
Ellena managed to make a jump. Instantly her back slammed against the back of the car seat. Her expression turned tense. How come? Lucas was driving the car already like he was possessed by a demon, so she must have felt scared.
It's true, Lucas' attitude is very easy to change. Ellena also chose to remain silent and did not continue the discussion, even though she really wanted Lucas to understand that. It is possible that one day Lucas will behave the same way when he meets Keenan. Therefore, Ellena warned first, but apparently Lucas did not accept her attitude.
'What's wrong with what I said? Why does he look so angry?' Ellena muttered to herself.
***
Arriving in front of the house, Ellena immediately got out of the car and ran towards the house. It seemed like she couldn't wait to get over the discomfort that was bothering her.
It even made Lucas's eyes widen, in surprise. Lucas got out of the car while continuing to stare blankly at Ellena who was running in such a hurry.
'What did she do? What a strange woman!" Lucas whispered, then he turned his gaze to the side and closed the car door. However, Lucas immediately snapped back when he heard something sound, as if the sound of something falling.
"Ooww!" Ellena screamed which suddenly made Lucas turn his head back towards her.
Yes, right. It was the sound of Ellena falling just before she could touch the doorknob of the house. Ellena's leg suddenly sprained, causing her to lose a balance. Now she seems to be sitting right in front of the door of the house holding her aching leg.
"You reckless!" Lucas pouted from a distance, then he walked over to Ellena who was still whimpering in pain.
Lucas walked with a cold expression, then he stopped right next to Ellena. He lowered his head for a moment, looking at Ellena who was also looking at him while still holding her sprained left leg.
It didn't last long. Lucas immediately looked up and straightened his body while looking straight ahead. After that, he went into the house, ignoring Ellena who still seemed to be groaning in pain.
Ellena was flabbergasted at Lucas's indifferent attitude towards her. She couldn't believe that Lucas could be so relaxed when she saw people getting into trouble. Even though it was a minor incident, still the pain was excruciating. 'Isn't there some pity in that man's heart?' So she thought.
"You heartless man!" cursed Ellena annoyed. She then tried to get up slowly. However, she fell back down. In fact, before she managed to stand up perfectly. "Ooww!" she groaned then.
However Lucas had entered the house, he could still hear Ellena's moans from outside. Who would have thought, it turns out that moaning was able to stir his heart. He immediately gave up on ignoring Ellena. He huffed in annoyance, then turned around and walked over to the woman again.
"Why are you so careless?" he snapped suddenly which made Ellena instantly look up, then glared at him furiously.
"What do you mean careless? Can't you see, my leg hurts like this, huh?" Ellena snapped as she rolled her eyes perfectly, then showed her aching leg.
"Yes, but it happened because of your own carelessness. If you weren't careless, maybe your feet wouldn't hurt like that!" Lucas replied still didn't stop blaming. Though, it wasn't Ellena's wish either, but purely by accident.
Lucas clucked in annoyance again, before he finally decided to lift Ellena's body. "Troublesome!" he cursed then.
"Lucas, what are you doing?" Ellena rebelled when Lucas suddenly carried her into the house.
"Could you be quiet for a minute?" Lucas lowered his head for a moment, looking at Ellena with emphasis.
"But let go of me! You shouldn't have carried me like this, Lucas!" Ellena shouted, still disapproved of Lucas' attitude.
However, Lucas remained motionless, until he finally landed Ellena's body right on the long sofa in the living room. Lucas threw Ellena's body a little hard, making Ellena groan again when she felt pain in her legs from being slammed hard enough.
"Lucas, can you be gentle just a little bit? No need to be so rude, my feet hurt!" Ellena seemed to cast a protest to Lucas who was now standing beside her.
"It's your fault! I warned you to stay quiet, but you won't listen to what I have to say!" Lucas replied who again blamed Ellena.
Lucas then sat on the edge of the sofa. "Give me your leg!" he said as he grabbed Ellena's sprained leg and placed it on his lap.
"What do you want?" Ellena was surprised to slightly lift her back slightly leaning forward, staring at her feet which Lucas was holding
"I told you to shut up!" Lucas firmly felt annoyed with Ellena who didn't want to listen to what he had to say.
Lucas then called Joana to get massage oil. It didn't take long for Joana to bring the massage oil she asked for. He immediately used the massage oil on Ellena's feet.
Slowly and very carefully, Lucas put a touch on Ellena's leg. Still, Ellena whimpered in pain.
"Ooww... Lucas, it hurts!" Ellena groaned in pain in her leg.
"You hold on a little. It won't be long." Lucas continued to do his thing, regardless of the pain Ellena was feeling.
As time went on, the pain in Ellena's leg became less and less. Ellena began to enjoy every touch Lucas put on her feet. She looked relaxed too. It turned out that Lucas not only had expertise in the business field, but also in massage. She didn't expect Lucas to be able to heal the wounds she was feeling.
Ellena looked at Lucas intently. She studied every inch of the handsome face looking down and focused on her feet. She just realized that Lucas' face was really handsome, especially when he looked at it from the side like that. In fact, seeing the handsome man who was now in front of her, made her almost forget how to wink.
"Are you still sick?" Lucas turned his head which suddenly made Ellena caught staring at him, so that Ellena immediately blinked in surprise and woke up from her daydream.
"Oh, hmm... n-no, Lucas. My legs ar-are getting better," Ellena replied a little nervously and awkwardly.
Seeing Ellena's expression, Lucas immediately smiled. However, only for a moment. It was as if he didn't want Ellena to notice that.
"Looks like you really enjoy my touch!" The monohic words that came out of Lucas' mouth instantly made Ellena gasp.
Of course because Ellena was embarrassed by Lucas's sarcasm this time. Ellena was about to respond to Lucas' words. However, it's a shame that Lucas has already shut her mouth with his next words
"You take a shower, then rest!" Lucas got up from his seat and went to his room.. Meanwhile, Ellena could only stare at the back of Lucas who had just disappeared behind the door of the man's room.
