Chapter 211 - Jealous
Chapter 211 – Jealous
"Ahem!"
Ellena cleared her throat while standing next to Lucas with her arms crossed over her chest.
This suddenly made Lucas flinch and immediately turned to the source of the sound. He didn't even realize when Ellena had been standing beside him.
"What are you doing, Honey?" Lucas asked, frowning, when he saw a scornful look from his wife.
"So … that's the reason?" Ellena said flatly.
"Reason?" Lucas was even more surprised by Ellena's question. 'What did she mean?' He whispered in his heart.
"What do you mean? I really don't understand, Honey." Lucas said trying to confirm.
"Don't act stupid!" said Ellena as if in disbelief.
Lucas immediately got up. In my heart I wanted to curse immediately, but couldn't when I remembered that it was his wife who was talking to him right now.
Lucas chuckled slightly seeing Ellena's cynical face which was actually a little cute for him. Yes, whatever it is, he always likes what is in his wife. Even though Ellena was angry, it was still adorable to her.
"What are you talking about, Honey? What did I do wrong, huh? Why are you suddenly looking at me like that? Come on tell me!" Lucas said in a very soft tone while holding both the bases of Ellena's arms.
"Let go! Don't hold me like that!" annoyed Ellena while lowering Lucas hands one by one roughly.
Lucas snorted harshly, not knowing what else to say to temper his wife's emotions. In fact, he himself didn't know what made Ellena like that.
"Come on, Honeyb… don't act like that. I have a lot of work to do. How can I focus when you—"
"Oh, so you're bothered that I'm here?" concluded Ellena, guessing. Suddenly Lucas was stunned full of confusion.
"N-no! Who said that?" Lucas disagreed with a slightly dumbfounded expression.
"You!" Ellena replied that she didn't want to lose, even though she hadn't heard Lucas' words until the end.
"I didn't say it like that, Honey. In fact, you didn't even hear what I said until the end. It's very rude to cut your husband off!" Lucas insisted emphatically, as proof that he never said that.
Never mind saying it in front of Ellena in person, never even had such thoughts. It sucks to be accused by your own wife.
I don't know what kind of misfortune he is facing today. Since this morning, Ellena had always had bad thoughts about him. In fact, right now he had nothing else important on his mind, apart from Ellena's safety and Alex's crime. more
"But, I know what's on your mind!" said Ellena still not wanting to budge.
Lucas couldn't believe it. However, only for a moment. He then sucked in a smile before responding to Ellena's words.
"So while you're away from home, you learn to read people's minds?" Lucas said deliberately trying to tease.
"Who is the person who taught you, Honey? Can you introduce me to him? I also want to be like you, able to read people's minds, especially reading yours." Lucas added casually and managed to make Ellena scowl in annoyance.
"You suck, Lucas!" snapped Ellena as she stomped one foot on the floor to make a knocking sound.
"What else did I do wrong, Honey?"
"I'm being serious, Lucas!" annoyed Elena pleaded.
"Okay, I'm sorry if I was wrong," Lucas said relenting.
He really didn't want to have to argue with Ellena, especially over an unclear issue.
"Do you really still don't know your mistake?" Ellena looked at Lucas questioningly.
"How would I know if you didn't tell me yourself, Honey." Lucas replied even more confused.
Ellena looked away for a moment, as if disappointed. That wasn't the answer she wanted from Lucas. Lucas should have understood what she was feeling right now, but he didn't. Are all men really that insensitive?
"I'm so lucky that I came with you here." Ellena said, lifting the corner of her lips and glaring sarcastically at Lucas.
"Yes, of course. I'm so lucky to have my wife with me at work. I'm happy, Honey." Lucas replied with a happy grin. However, not with Ellena, who pursed her lips even more, annoyed.
"That is not what I mean!" said Ellena while pouting her lips with a perfectly rounded gaze.
Lucas reflexively closed his eyes for a moment, a sign that he was sorry he had said that.
"So, what do you mean, Honey? Please explain to me, so I don't misunderstand again. I'm tired of having to guess all the time." Lucas wore a pleading, pleading expression as he looked at Ellena expectantly.
Ellena snorted harshly because she was disappointed that Lucas didn't understand what was bothering her right now. Yes, of course because of that sexy woman. Ah, really Ellena was disturbed by Grace's presence in the office.
Not to mention Lucas who had dared to praise the woman in front of him. Of course he was very worried about how Lucas would feel about that woman. It could be that Grace is trying to seduce her husband or vice versa.
Ah no! Ellena has gone mad. How could she be jealous of Lucas like that. Hadn't she always been indifferent before, even though so many women wanted Lucas?
"Because of that woman right?"
Ellen's question confused Lucas even more.
"Woman? Which woman are you referring to?" Lucas asked questioningly.
"Who just met you in this room?" Ellena sarcastically reversed the question.
"Grace?" Lucas narrowed his eyes as if unsure of his own guess.
"Yeah, maybe that's the name of that sexy woman you adore!" Ellena said which managed to make Lucas frown.
"Okay. What's with Grace? Is she bothering you?"
"Lucaas!" Ellena gritted her teeth as she clenched her hands in front of Lucas' face. Shows her anger clearly.
"Why? What else did I do wrong, Honey?" Lucas rounded and slightly tilted his head back.
"Gosh … you still don't get it?" Ellena held her head, frustrated, then walked away from Lucas.
She landed herself on the sofa. Sitting back while crossing her chest with a dazed gaze that is fixed in any direction.
"Honey, come on . . . don't play guessing games like this. What's wrong with Grace? Why are you bringing it up all of a sudden?" Lucas protested, then left the place, approaching Ellena.
Lucas took a seat next to Ellena. Instantly he turned, scrutinizing his wife's face, which looked as messed up as a tangled thread.
Ellena huffed in annoyance, then glared at Lucas' face.
"No wonder you forbade me to come to the office, apparently the reason was because of that woman!" snapped Ellena frankly.
Instead of answering, Lucas was surprised to receive such a question from his wife. Ah, how could Ellena suspect Grace? What's so special about that woman? Even if compared, of course, Ellena would be the winner.
"D-Honey, why are you suddenly bringing up her? I never even thought about forbidding you to come to the office just because Grace was the reason!" Lucas said he clearly didn't accept it.
"Lie!"
"I swear to nothing!" Lucas said, holding up two fingers in a 'V' shape.
"I see how much you admire him!" Lucas snapped as if he didn't want Lucas to admire another woman, even if it didn't involve feelings.
"Still, you are the one I admire the most," Lucas answered, which suddenly made Ellena even more perfect.
"That means you admire him, right?"
"But-"
"I want to go home!" concluded Ellena as she reached for her bag.
"You suck, Lucas!"
Just as Ellena was about to get up, Lucas' hand suddenly grabbed her.
"Honey, that's not what I meant. He's just a new employee with a good performance. It's only natural that I admire my employees who have high intelligence like Grace!" Obviously Lucas was trying to clarify what he was saying.
"Not that I like him!" added Lucas again.
"Even you dare to praise him in front of me while smiling at him. Is that what you said was just a feeling of admiration for an employee, huh?"
"So, what should I do, Honey? How can I be indifferent to my own employees. Shouldn't we maintain relations between co-workers?" Lucas replied trying to open Ellena's heart. It seemed that he still didn't realize that Ellena was experiencing severe jealousy.
"Whatever! Just keep praising the woman! No wonder you feel at home in the office, it turns out there is her!" said Elena mercilessly.
"Honey … come on, don't be like this, I have a lot of work to do," Lucas replied, at his wits end to suppress Ellena's emotions.
"Back when I was still working here, you were so cold to all women, why is it the other way around now?"
"Nothing has changed. From the past, I'm still like this."
"Not!"
Lucas took a deep breath as he studied Ellena's face. He thought hard, what was really going on with Ellena. Why does Ellena feel uncomfortable with Grace's existence?
Lucas suddenly froze when he realized something. He then smiled. He seemed to know what he had to do now.
Lucas shifted his body, then hugged Ellena's body gently.
"Honey, as many beautiful women as there are in this world, only you can drive me crazy. I can't possibly turn to another woman, especially Grace. You just saw the way she dresses. Do I really like her? Not at all. Until this moment "You're the only woman I love the most, after Mommy," Lucas whispered as he tightened his embrace and then kissed Ellena's cheek gently.
Getting that treatment, Ellena immediately blushed and looked away as if she didn't want to show an embarrassed expression in front of Lucas. It's really troubling.
Meanwhile, her heart was no less restless. How come? When she was in this close position with Lucas, her heart just couldn't be compromised. The pounding that was racing faster and louder, made Ellena worried that Lucas would hear and notice it. Ah, what a shame if that happened.
"Can you still trust me?" Lucas asked as he turned Ellena to face him. He stared intently into those brown beaded eyes.
"I love you, Elle. I'm happy because it turns out that you can be jealous too." Lucas said with a smile, intending to tease Ellena.
"Not!" Ellena argued emphatically, then turned her head back, breaking eye contact with Lucas.
