Chapter 114 - VIDEO CALL

Lucas seemed to be sitting cross-legged while swiping a few times on his cellphone screen. His face looks so happy. The smile never stopped growing. Only a few hours apart from his wife because of a different place of work, made him miss Ellena very much.

Luckily this morning he sent several portraits of the woman to his cell phone. He even made one of them as wallpaper on the front screen of the cellphone.

"Ah, I think I really miss her." He whispered without taking his eyes off the phone screen.

Even though a few minutes ago he had monitored his wife's activities at the shop, but because there were no suspicious events like the previous day, he decided to end the activity. Also considering the amount of work he has to complete.

To reduce his longing, at first glance the thought occurred to contact his wife. The happy grin grew again when the video call immediately got a response.

"Hello, Lucas. What's up?" asked Ellena on the other side.

From the video, the woman looks like she's still wearing an apron. Looks like she's still busy baking cookies at break time like this. Not to mention the sound of the mixer, which sounded very noisy, making Lucas even more sure of his guess.

"Are you still busy?" Lucas asked to confirm.

"Yes, Lucas. The shop is very busy today, so the cake supplies are running low. I have to make some cakes for stock tomorrow." Ellena explained.

She released the phone from her grip, then placed it in a place where she could still reach it. It was clear that Ellena was continuing her activities of kneading the cake dough in the container.

Seeing the videotape, Lucas immediately snorted in annoyance. He just doesn't want his wife to be so focused on work that she neglects health.

"Elle, come on ... it's time to break, Honey. You should have stopped working." Lucas coaxed, putting on a pitiful expression. "You can't be too tired, you'll faint again like that time." He added, pursing his lips slightly.

Ellena stopped what she was doing, then refocused her gaze on the phone screen.

"Faint?" Ellena was silent for a moment as she recalled when she had fainted from exhaustion. "When did I pass out?" She asked in surprise.

"Did you forget what happened when your Mother was in the hospital?" Lucas seemed to gently massage his forehead that didn't feel dizzy.

"Oh my God ... it's been a long time, Lucas. You still remember it." Ellena replied with a smile. She thought a busy person like Lucas wouldn't remember what had happened in over a month.

Ellena turned her attention back to the cake batter and continued her activities, not caring about her husband's persuasion.

"Are you sure you haven't eaten yet?" Lucas guessed with absolute certainty.

"I haven't eaten yet, Lucas. But don't worry. I'll definitely eat later." Ellena replied, smiling happily again.

This time she turned her head to the phone screen, without stopping her activities. Ah, she couldn't believe that Lucas would care to her like that. It's like she has a real husband.

Lucas huffed in annoyance, then looked away for a moment. 'She's so stubborn.' He muttered to himself.

"Are you going to stop your work and eat or am I going to pick you up there?" Lucas asked emphatically and made a choice that neither of the wives wanted.

"Lucas, I will finish my work first, after that I will eat." Ellena put on a pitiful expression as she begged her husband to understand a little about her busyness this time.

"Okay, I'll pick you up now—"

"Okay! I'll stop my work and have a lunch soon," concluded Ellena when Lucas was just about to get up from the sofa. Even this time she seemed to raise her hands, as proof that she would follow the man's request.

"You're seriously not going to lie?" Lucas returned to confirm which was only responded by shaking her head.

Lucas changed his sitting position by lowering his right leg that crossed over his left and looking down slightly, staring at the cellphone below him.

"You're going to lie to me?" Lucas' sarcasm grew even more furious at the response, which made Ellena look flabbergasted.

"Huh? N-no. I-I mean I'm serious and I'm not going to lie." The woman explained, trying to rectify her previous response which seemed ambiguous.

Ellena looked slightly frowning. Feeling annoyed at being treated like a child. However, yes it is the truth. She was like a child who was hard to persuade to eat.

"Health is expensive, Honey. Don't ignore it." Lucas whispered with a smile, trying to quell Ellena's annoyance at him.

"Yes, I know."

It doesn't have any effect. Ellena was still frowning.

"Do you understand?" Lucas asked not wanting to give up on convincing his heart that his wife would really obey his word.

"Yes, Lucas."

Instead of making her husband feel happy, Ellena actually answered with a lazy expression.

"Why is your expression like that?"

"Lucas, you're so fussy! Yes, I'm going to eat right now!" Ellena growled as she took off the apron that still partially covered her body, then hung it on the wall hanger.

This immediately made Lucas chuckle, although he was actually annoyed by the woman's stubbornness.

"Just watch out if you dare lie to me. I won't give you permission to work anymore!" Lucas said threateningly.

Sigh. Ellena tried to neutralize her feelings that had become angry. "Yeah, Lucas." She said in a weak voice.

"All right. Don't you ever dare to break my trust in you, Elle."

For the umpteenth time he gave a warning to his wife. He really didn't want that to happen. However, because of Ellena's attitude, he was forced to do that.

'I won't let that happen. If Ellena is too busy at work and exhausted, how are we going to do a night workout." Lucas thought.

"Okay, Lucas. I understand. Now hang up, I'll eat as you wish." Ellena pleaded. Now the phone has returned to her hands. She then walked into her private room.

"You see? I've ordered food a long time ago," continued Ellena while showing a food box labeled one of the famous restaurants in the city.

"Okay, I'll hang up right away. Have a nice lunch, Honey." Lucas smiled again. Of course because it feels good.

"Okay, Lucas. Don't forget to eat lunch too. Bye," replied Ellena, waving her hand.

"Only that?"

Lucas' question instantly made Ellena stunned in surprise. "What do you mean?" She asked.

"You don't want to give me something?" Lucas asked, shaking his head.

"What?"

Ellena still wore a surprised expression, not understanding what Lucas said.

"Give this to me."

Not expect. Lucas' answer managed to make Ellena surprised and widen her eyes, when her husband demonstrated a long-distance kiss that was clearly visible on her cellphone screen. Instantly her face turned red.

'Ah, why did Lucas turn out like that. Where's the cold figure of Lucas?' thought Elena.

"I-I don't want to, Lucas!" refused. Ellena looked away slightly in any direction.

"Come on, Honey. Don't you know how much I miss you?" Lucas persuaded began to whine spoiled. "I won't hang up if you don't want to do that."

Unlucky. Once again Ellena was caught up in Lucas' game. How could he possibly do that in front of Lucas. Demonstrate long distance kissing. What a shame.

Ellena took a deep breath, then let it out a little rough. Maybe next time she won't receive any more video calls from her husband. It sucks.

"Come on." Lucas said again.

"Muuaah." Ellena was forced to do what Lucas asked.

"Hmm ... my wife is so cute." Lucas whispered with a happy grin and suddenly made Ellena's face even more red, because she was embarrassed.

"Okay, I'll hang up. Bye, Honey. Muuah." Lucas replied who also did the same thing.

At the same time, Adley seemed to suddenly barge into his room.

"Wow ... looks like someone is in love," exclaimed Adley, who accidentally caught Lucas' last scene. He then landed his body on the sofa opposite his best friend.

"Can you be a little polite? Entering people's rooms never excuses!" Lucas growled, pouting his lips after he managed to hang up the phone.

"Six months into the marriage agreement, only four months into the household, already in love. Are you going to stay in the agreement, Mr. Lucas?" Adley quipped unmitigated.

"Shut up!" growled Lucas.

A black sofa cushion immediately floated to Adley's face. However, the man actually responded with laughter. He grabbed the pillow and put it aside.

"Unfortunately, it looks like my plan will fail," said Adley, still chuckling at Lucas's wry expression.

"What plan do you mean?" Lucas seemed to widen his eyes, it seemed he knew the plan his best friend was referring to.

"Yeah ... that's if you let Ellena go—"

"Will not!" Lucas said cut off Adley's words and managed to make his friend burst out laughing again.

"As expected. You can't let a woman as beautiful as Ellena go." Adley leaned back, then crossed his right leg over his left. His gaze focused on Lucas.

"Don't you ever dare mess with my wife!" Lucas firmly warned. He knew very well how his best friend was. Always thirsty when you see a beautiful woman.

"Ha ha ha. How could I betray our friendship, Brother. I'm actually happy because it turns out that your contract wife can replace Selena's position in your heart," replied Adley.

Lucas chuckled and looked away for a moment. "Then what's your purpose in coming here? Just interrupt!" He snapped.

"Just to provide important information." Adley replied as he lifted his back from the back of the chair with his arms resting on his thighs.

"What?" Lucas asked, frowning.

"I saw Michelle downstairs, I think she's going to meet you." Adley whispered, which made Lucas laugh.

"What?" Lucas said a little flabbergasted.

"That's just my guess, but who else is she looking for in this office, if not you." Adley replied.

"No. I have to get out of here soon."

Before Lucas could move, suddenly a knock on the door echoed through the room, causing Lucas and Adley to look at each other for a moment.
