Chapter 6 Hypnotek Gallery
Arthur's destination in the Capital city was right in the middle of the Central Business district.
It was easily the most expensive area of the entire city, and the difference in its vibe could be felt without even looking at it. As long as one was within a kilometer's radius from it, not even properly inside, one would feel the difference in air quality.
"City-Class Mass Air purifiers… Feels like I'll gain a few days of lifespan just by walking here…" Arthur could breathe a lot freely here.
This was merely one of the 'luxuries' that were present here.
There were automatic walkways that could carry one to their destination so long as one had the privileged access. Then there were over a hundred luxury shops spread all around the area along with restaurants that served food that might cost a person's yearly salary.
It was in the middle of all this that his destination lay.
"Hypnotek Gallery… Never thought I'd ever get to come here…" Arthur muttered to himself.
He hadn't just come to any shop, but the Hypnotek gallery where their top of the line products were first displayed. This wasn't even a place that normal people could enter.
"Excuse me sir, but may I see your Member Card?" The security guard standing outside the establishment stopped Arthur.
Arthur knew this was going to happen and didn't mind it. He simply pulled out his cracked smart phone and opened a certain page with a QR code.
"I have a product booking here. I believe it grants me entry regardless of membership status." Arthur said calmly.
If it were anyone else coming here, they would have been easily unnerved. Even Arthur didn't seem like he belonged here. Just his choice of clothing was several leagues away from the other patrons of the establishment.
There were plenty of people staring at him too, expecting him to leave on his own or being shooed away by the security. But fortunately for them, today was not the day.
The security guard was a bit doubtful, but he still scanned the QR code on Arthur's phone. After all, there was still a protocol he needed to follow and he couldn't reject someone without proper verification.
~DING~
The scanner gave a positive sound and glowed green, prompting the guard to open the door for Arthur.
"Pardon me sir, welcome to the Hypnotek Gallery." The Guard gestured with his hand while bowing his head slightly.
The people watching were surprised at this.
"Sssss… They really allow anyone in these days."
"Do you think the boy is really here to buy something?"
"How can that be? He probably has a stolen ID or something."
There was no lack of gossip mongers in the world and the same could be said for a high end place like this.
To Arthur, this was of no concern, and he cared nothing about the opinions of others.
'Though I'm lucky, they still have the Online booking option for the Dream Pod V3. Otherwise getting in here would have been impossible without a membership card…' Arthur thanked his fortune.
As the main showcase of Hypnotek's products, the gallery had high standards on who could enter. It was where the products were displayed and sold first after coming from the production line and the members of their exclusive club got the privilege of trying them first.
But… there was an exception to this… a loophole of sorts.
Arthur was quite sure that this was a mistake as the staff had not restricted the Online bookings of the Dream Pod V3 for the Gallery.
Of course, no normal person would think of doing this. After all, why would someone travel hundreds of kilometers when they could get the same thing within a couple kilometer of their location?
Besides, it wasn't something that would normally appear either. If not for Arthur specifically scrolling and searching for it, the option to book at the gallery wouldn't even be seen openly.
But this was the location that Arthur absolutely had to pick.
Arthur looked around the floor for the Dream Pods.
"Not this floor, there are just small electronics here." He moved onto the next floor.
Hypnotek didn't just sell Dream Pods, they sold many other electronics as well. This included everything from smartphones, Smart Watches, smart televisions, and every other smart piece of technology one could think of.
And if they didn't have something by any chance, they actually had feedback forms one could fill. They took it very seriously and would have the said product ready within a month or so. With the massive competition they had from other companies, this was the only way they could keep up.
The Gallery had three floors and Arthur found the floor with the Dream Pods at the very top.
Since the Dream Pods were quite large compared to other electronics sold here, they took up an entire floor alone. And the version that Arthur had come for was at the very front with a large digital banner showing an animation.
>Dream Pod V3: Dare to Dream Deeper?<
"Huu…" Taking a deep breath, Arthur walked up to the nearest store associate. "Hi, I have a product booking for Dream Pod V3." He spoke.
The store associate was momentarily surprised seeing Arthur but didn't let it show on his face.
Then with a professional smile on his face he spoke, "That's great sir! May I have the booking ID?"
Arthur gave the man his cracked phone, which the store associate once more scanned at a computer. The man got some information on his screen and nodded his head.
"Please come this way. Your booked Dream Pod V3 is here." The Store associate guided Arthur to the very back of the row where a shining and sleek pod was waiting for him.
It was just under two meters in length and half as wide with sleek curves at its both ends. Several wires could be seen connected to its bottom panel while a translucent window was present at the top.
"Would you like to finish the registration right away, sir?" The man asked with a smile.
