VRMMORPG: Dragomancer Reborn

Chapter 156 Breeding Habits

Chapter 156  Breeding Habits

Arthur approached the site of conflict and soon saw the red glow that was coming from the area.

~HSSIAAAAA~

~CRACK~

A hiss could be heard, before the glint of long claws was seen. The claws cut through the air before slamming into a tree trunk and cracking it in the middle.

~SHAAAAAA~

Then a moment later, a jet of red embers covered the area, making it hard for Arthur to see clearly. But his eyes adapted quickly and were able to see through the red embers that were flying everywhere. The embers fell on the trees and other plants, igniting them in the process.

'They really are fighting!' Arthur was very excited.

While he had guessed that this was the most likely possibility, seeing it with his two eyes assured him of his victory.

The two Ember Bellow Lizards were currently embroiled in a harsh conflict. Their claws tore through the air, embers flew, and tails were whipped. A hint of madness could be seen in their eyes, as the two Ember Bellow Lizards fought fiercely.

Arthur could only guess that they were fighting for territory. This was a common thing among stronger beasts and players would see it in the future as well. In fact, there were quests that were created due to this too.

After all, the territory conflict of creatures like this could have far reaching consequences, threatening the stability of areas as well as the safety of people living there. If a large territory beast got involved in a fight near a settlement, things could degrade really quickly.

Thus one needed to resolve it quickly, either by repelling the creatures or killing them entirely.

Arthur let the two Ember Bellow Lizards fight, as he wanted them to injure each other and get weaker. That way it would be a lot easier for him to get rid of them both.

"Now then… let's take a look." Arthur still needed to see the status of the two lizards to know their conditions.

Only if he knew they were weak enough would he attack.

Type: Beast/ Draconid

Info: A lizard beast that is also a Draconid. Its faint Dragonic bloodline as has allowed it to obtain an ability to use a weaker version of the Draconid breath that does not cost it too much. It can also use Draconid Breath, albeit at a higher cost.

Its tough scales and physique allows it to survive in hot and dry climates. But when it is breeding season, the Ember Bellow Lizard will seek out a colder area to lay eggs.

The Female would seek out a male and fight it into submission. The females can smell the male from several kilometer away and will chase them down.

After obtaining its seed, it will kill the male and use its corpse as nourishment. As a result, the male is instinctively afraid of the females.

look of surprise appeared on it. He suddenly understood all that had happened so far and realized why the Ember Bellow Lizard had Arthur's expression was fine at first, but as he continued to read, a look of surprise appeared on it. He suddenly understood all that had happened so far and realized why the Ember Bellow Lizard had come to the Ballard Cliffs.

'It's actually a female… no wonder it ran that fast… it was looking for a male to mate and kill…' Arthur thought.

He hadn't known this information, as there was no such mention in the forums. While there were often detailed records about various mobs and creatures, very rarely were such habits recorded in them.

Thus, there was basically no way to tell the reasoning behind the appearance of the Ember Bellow Lizard.

Arthur also looked at their stats, which were certainly quite high. In fact, he would likely have a hard time, if not for his own passive skill.

He checked both of the Ember Bellow Lizards' conditions and saw that the male was already at half its health.

'The male is also weaker than the Female Ember Bellow Lizard. If the fight continues as it is, it will soon be defeated.' Arthur thought.

He was also not as worried about the male dying since he knew the Female would stop once it was unconscious or something. Only after breeding with the male would it kill it.

'The breeding habits of Ember Bellow Lizard sure is vicious…' Arthur couldn't help but think.

Arthur watched as the male Ember Bellow Lizard's HP fell bit by bit. And when it finally reached the 10% mark, it happened.

~KHWEEEEEEEE~

~THUD~

The male let out an unwilling cry before collapsing to the ground.

Arthur didn't act right away though. He first checked the condition of the female as well.

'She's quite weak too. It shouldn't be an issue.' Arthur was now sure.

"Huu…" Taking a deep breath, Arthur held the Key Spear firmly in his hands.

He then silently gave a command to Brambles before readying his skill.

"BRAMBLES NOW!" Arthur shouted as he lunged toward the male Ember Bellow Lizard. The Female noticed this and tried to move to intercept the new foe that had appeared.

~BUZZ~

Brambles flapped his wings at a rapid pace and rushed towards the female. His horn was pointed right at her side and collided with it in the next second.
