Chapter 19 - Adamantine's Despair
-----
It all happened too fast.
Adamantine Gold was just minding her own business as always.
She was with her two lackeys, girls that sucked up to her because she was moderately strong.
And as always, she was beating the pig that she always liked to kick and insult to let go of her frustrations.
It always made her feel better to see others being so pathetic and low before her, it gave her a feeling of fulfillment like nothing.
Although originally she never thought of bullying others in the past, after getting to it due to a burst of rage, she could not stop.
It was like a drug to her.
She loved making others suffer, insult them, and tell them how low compared to her they were.
Especially because she had many frustrations in her life, her parents were piss poor and they could barely maintain a house, while also having weak Abilities that could not make them into good Hunters.
She was being given all the pressure of becoming a successful Hunter and maintain the family because of these two useless parents.
One day, she exploded and attacked a silent girl that often never did anything to anyone, although she was often ridiculed due to her useless ability, which reminded her of her useless parents.
Iris then fell into her bullying, and it was very constant.
Almost every day Adamantine would come with her 'friends' and insult her, ridicule her, and more.
After a few weeks, it finally ended in physical aggression and seeing Iris face all covered in blood while having her teeth broken made Adamantine feel like she was the Queen of the World.
She could not stop it.
She was addicted to abusing Iris and constantly looked for ways to make her suffer even more.
In fact, there was not any grudge against her.
Iris was actually a gentle girl that would not hurt anyone.
But Iris simply targeted it because of this.
She was weak, passive, and gentle.
And because no one cared about her, she was the perfect punching bag.
Not long after, she grew obsessed with her cries of agony and pain.
She was selfish and egocentric, and could not even imagine what Iris was going through, after all, although her life 'sucked' for her, she was never in the receiving end of bullying.
She did not remember the last time she even felt pain after awakening and acquiring the Gold Aura Skill, which let her cover part of her body with a glowing gold aura, which made her as resistant as gold.
Iris was undergoing a constant hell, something quite similar to Noah… But perhaps, because she still has not gone as insane like him, she suffered even more, as her innocence was being slowly broken into pieces.
She was falling into a constant abyss of suffering and desperation.
Not long after, she started to reflectively have panic attacks when Adamantine came to beat her, giving her an even more passive stance in the situation.
Adamantine grew so obsessed with hitting Iris and making her shriek in agony that she began to make of this some kind of wicked fetish, to the point of getting sexually aroused when she thought about beating Iris to almost death.
Even after Noah made Iris a Dhampir and gave her power, she could not help but fall into a panic attack again.
Unlike Noah who had his soul fused with the Blood Progenitor, which made his mind and thoughts warped and different to a human to an extent, Iris still held most of her traumas even as a Dhampir.
Although she had new and monster-like instincts, they were rather lesser as she was only a half-vampire compared to Noah, who had become a complete monster.
Eventually, although she had been told by Noah that she should simply run away from them with her new agility through her Dhampir powers or to fight back against her and escape afterward, Iris ended up falling into a panic attack when she glanced at Adamantine's wicked smile.
As Iris was falling into the abyssal darkness of her own traumas without even being able to fight back even with strength, Noah decided to come and finish this annoying thing.
Adamantine was about to hit Iris face as she always loved to do, but within a millisecond, her arm was flying in the air, and a sharp pain took hold of her.
Not long after, the figure of a young man emerged from nowhere, which she couldn't even detect in time.
Noah quickly sliced off her other arm within a second, and then, as she cried and struggled on the floor, her legs went away just as easy.
Adamantine, someone that was never truly on the receiving end of such abuse was now experiencing what was truly agony and despair.
So much that her feeble mind began to quickly break into tiny pieces, her ego and selfishness flew away, and much like Iris, she had become a vulnerable little girl.
Falling unconscious over the pain and the fear of death that made her go completely insane, Iris quickly killed her two lackeys mercilessly, surprising those two girls which were perhaps just as insane as Adamantine.
