-----
[Iris]
[Bloodline: Dhampir (Awakening)]
[Vitality: 22]
[Mind: 25]
[Force: 23]
[Skill(s): [Demon Phantom Fox: 25 (C)], [Dhampir: - (S)], [Subordinate's Loyalty: - (A)], [Undying Body: 10 (A)], [Poisonous Black Nails: 37 (D)], [Lesser Blood Manipulation: 17 (E)], [Rage Mode: 1 (D)]
As the classes were coming to an end, Noah checked Iris Attribute Panel, her stats had increased by a bit, and her Skills had also raised in proficiency.
Noah noticed that she got two new Skills, a lesser version of his Blood Manipulation, and 'Rage Mode', which was something like a lesser Berserk Mode that she most likely acquired from the Goblin Champion's Ability Core.
Noah noticed that Iris was a rather evasive and agile fighter, she was also quite beastly when she shrouded herself on her Demon Phantom Fox, which enhanced her speed and attack even more.
By using Rage Mode, such specialization would increase, and she could even enter into a powerup mode to become of greater use and help for Noah's plans.
The teacher of the class was in fact a military man, an old sergeant who had studied the System and the Dungeons since they appeared twenty years ago.
"As you can see, Skills have proficiency levels, as you use them, the proficiency will increase, increasing the strength, speed, and effectiveness of the Skills. There have been cases of Skills even awakening after reaching max proficiency, to the point of reaching the next Rank," said the teacher.
Arthur who was always very active in class and interacted with the teachers a lot raised his hand.
"Yes, Arthur?" asked the teacher.
"Teacher, is it possible for any Skill to awaken, or only special ones can do?" asked Arthur.
"Hm, I believe that every Skill can awaken. The thing is, certain requirements need to be fulfilled for them to awaken. Everyone here has the potential to grow into an S-Rank Hunter if you put your effort and mind into it. Keep training hard, everyone, classes have finished, you can go eat lunch," said the teacher, closing his books as a loud ring alerting the kids that it was break time came, many of the students ignored the teacher and darted out of the classes, chatting, and interacting.
Noah glanced at Arthur, as he was talking with the teacher after school like he used to be.
"Teacher, do you think that there could be a way to regrow my legs if I awaken my healing skills?" asked Arthur.
"…Well, there might be a chance, Arthur," said the teacher, packing his things.
"Wait, teacher, I have a few more questions…!" said Arthur, as the teacher already wanted to leave the class.
"Arthur, my time is over, you can ask other questions to the next teacher if you want," said the teacher while glancing at Arthur with annoyance.
"Ah… Okay…" muttered Arthur, glancing at the floor.
The stoic beauty at Arthur's side, his maid, smiled gently at him.
"Arthur-sama, why don't we go have lunch? I have prepared your favorite meal," she said.
"Ah…! Right, it's already Lunchtime, isn't it? Alright, let's go, Timassa," said Arthur with a gentle smile, despite that deep inside he was filled with sorrow.
Timassa slowly carried Arthur's wheelchair out of class, as only Noah and Iris were left pretending to read a book.
Iris shyly glanced back at Noah…
"N-Noah-sama…" she said.
"What? I told you that we don't have to talk a day," said Noah.
"My bad!" said Iris, as she averted her gaze and took out a little lunch box where she began to eat something.
After a few minutes, she glanced back at Noah.
"Are you hungry? I can share… my lunch with you…" she said shyly while flushing a bit.
Noah glanced at her expressionlessly, and a bit annoyed.
"Iris… Stop talking to me," he said.
"A-Ah! Right… Sorry…"
Iris apologized as she kept eating, Noah noticed that she was eating rather healthily, despite being a Dhampir.
He began to think that Dhampirs might still need to eat unlike him, as they were more like half human and half vampire than a full-fledged vampire like him.
Due to this, Dhampir had a few human necessities.
After two minutes, Iris glanced back at Noah, and Noah could not help but sigh internally.
She then stood up and slowly walked near him… making Noah a bit annoyed.
"Iris, what are you do-"
Noah's words did not come to an end as Iris gently offered him a bottle of cold green tea.
"D-Do you want tea? I brought a second one… by accident…" said Iris, averting her gaze shyly from Noah's angered gaze.
"By accident? Sigh…"
Noah sighed, grabbing the bottle that Iris offered him.
Iris's eyes suddenly glowed with happiness, as she gently sat down in front of him, bringing her lunch box of course.
"…Iris, that I took the bottle you offered me doesn't mean that you can sit near me…" said Noah.
"B-But I want to be with you! We are friends now, right? A-Actually, maybe if you want, we could be more than-"
"Shut up. Our relationship is strictly that of master and servant… But whatever, eat or do whatever you want, I am tired of arguing…" sighed Noah, resting on his chair and drinking the tea while glancing at the ceiling.
It was cold and sweet, and the taste of green tea was rather refreshing to his throat.
"I have found our next target," said Noah.
"Next… target?" asked Iris.
"Iris, do you think that we would be just the two of us? If we want to survive in this world, we need to build a group, a party. Or even more, an organization. With my ability to turn others into Dhampirs, it is rather an obvious guess," said Noah.
"R-Right… I guess I didn't think about it…" said Iris.
Noah approached Iris face expressionlessly, as Iris suddenly turned as red as a tomato.
"Idiot, you might be rather strong now, but your head is empty," said Noah, gently hitting Iris's forehead with his index finger.
"Ouch…" said Iris adorably.
"Anyways, the first thing I thought that we needed is a lot of money. Even after the Apocalypse, money and resources move this world… Or whatever it is left of it. I also have some plans in taking care of those that bullied us, are you okay with that?" asked Noah.
"T-Taking… care of them?" asked Iris.
"Don't you want revenge, Iris?" asked Noah.
"I…" muttered Iris, as she stopped eating and glanced at the floor.
She began to remember all this time she had been bullied by those girls, and how many times they made her suffer.
Luckily for her, she did not found them this morning, and through what happened yesterday, she had mostly forgotten about them, but now that she was reminded of the reality by Noah, she realized that things have not changed that much.
"You said that you wanted a change, that you wanted power for that… Are you backing down on your words, Iris?" asked Noah.
"I… No, I have not… For everything, they did to me… I want to… see them cry, to beg for me… I want to… Crush them with my feet, to slash them with my nails, to seep poison into their agonizing eyes! To…"
Tack!
Noah hit Iris' forehead again, waking her from her bloodlust.
"Ah!"
"I see that you have harbored a lot of anger. But calm down now. I am glad that we think the same it will make things easier. I would gladly help you kill them. After all, it is free blood," said Noah.
