Chapter 34 - Queen Otohime
Entering the restaurant, Blaize occupied a free table and told a sunny, green-haired merfolk child, who came to accept the orders, to bring all their signature dishes.
Helpless, Gion also came in and sat opposite to him. She noticed half the restaurant is occupied by human pirates who decide to cross the Red line via Fishman Island.
In a few minutes, the Green-haired mermaid child came back bringing his dishes. With a bubble tube attached to her waist, she was able to glide without any difficulty.
Before she could reach his table, a pirate stopped her. "Oi Fishgirl, where are you taking the orders? Place it here!"
"I am extremely sorry, sir. This order is for a different customer, your order is being prepared and it will be ready in a few minutes." The green-haired mermaid stammered and replied.
"I said to place it here, why are you speaking nonsense?" The pirate seized the plate full of food and kicked the merfolk child.
Seeing his order was being forcibly taken, a gloomy look spread Blaize's face. The mermaid child didn't fight back, but came to him with tears in her eyes and said,
"I am sorry sir. I will order your food once again."
"Haha, what are you being sorry for little girl? It's not your fault." Blaize smiled, playfully brushing her hair.
The Green-haired mermaid looked at Blaize in astonishment as he's the first human that ever treated kindly without any discrimination.
Under her startling eyes, Blaize then stood up from his chair and walked towards the pirate who seized his food. Gion called noticing something, "Blaize-kun..."
"What? You got a problem with me taking your—"
Even before he could finish his sentence, Blaize acted. "whoosh!!" His boiling hand pierced the pirate's chest and hauled his heart out in one swift motion.
Silence followed. Everyone present in the restaurant gaped at the scene while gulping their throat. Everything happened in a split second before they could even respond.
When the pirate reacted, his heart was already removed from the body and presented before him to see. A heart dripping with blood thumped from time to time in Blaize's hand.
Looking at the heart and fist-sized hole in his body, the pirate plopped to the ground lifeless. His other three companions quivered in horror, noticing Blaize is currently looking at them.
Terror gripped Fish-men's hearts, driving them to flee the scene. As for the pirates, they didn't run -- fearing Blaize would kill them if they move.
"You guys shouldn't have ruined my appetite..." With a wave of his hand, heat bullets pierced their heart, killing them instantly.
The most astonished among them is the green-haired mermaid as she didn't expect the smiling Blaize would suddenly turn into a killing machine. 'Humans are scary!'
Blaize then returned to his seat after washing his hands a few times. "Little girl, what are you waiting for? Go and order the foods again."
Only then he noticed, all the customers of the restaurant fled leaving Blaize and Gion alone. With no one to disturb, Blaize left the restaurant after having a satisfying meal.
--
"Lot of pirates roam Fishman island. If not for Whitebeard pirates Jolly Roger, I doubt the Fishman Island will cease to exist till now."
Gion commented as they walked along the street and continued, "It's supposed to be the job of us, Marines, to protect the citizens of the world."
"Without sufficient strength, you can do nothing to help them." Blaize causally replied.
"Where could the Demonbear Pirates have gone?"
Blaize pondered for a moment before replying. "It's not our domain, so our information is limited."
He then continued, "Let's go to the Gyoncorde Plaza. and I heard Queen Otohime personally appear every day to make her speeches about how humans and fish-folks should be united, in order to increase influence."
"How do you know this stuff, though it's also your first time visiting Fishman island?" Gion asked, doubtful.
"I read more books than you."
"Snort. Again with your lies."
In a few minutes, they reached the Gyoncorde plaza, which is a notable location positioned at the center of Fish-Man Island.
Blaize saw Queen Otohime who was a goldfish mermaid and the queen of the Ryugu Kingdom. Also, she's the mother of Princess Shirahoshi who will awaken her Poseidon powers in near future.
At the center of the plaza, a crowd of hundred-some people gathered and heard Otohime's speech but it's only because she's the queen.
All her efforts were in vain, especially, after Fisher Tiger's recent stunt. And, all the Fishmen on the island support his action rather than hers.
Seeing this, Blaize shook his head. Though he admires her persistence and efforts being physically weak, it wasn't a wise choice to live beside humans.
It's true, there are good humans on the surface, but they are sparse in comparison with bad ones.
Blaize quietly waited along with Gion on the sideline and listened to her speech. After a few minutes, the residents left the plaza shaking their heads.
Otohime stood with a disappointed expression and yet again failed to get the signature. At that moment, Blaize approached.
"Nice to meet you, Queen Otohime. I overheard your speech, it was truly good. I admire your goal and equally your efforts to achieve them!" He expressed his heartfelt praise.
"A human? Who are you?" The Minister of right shielded the queen and pressed with his words.
"My name's Blaize, an ordinary marine. I came here to catch a certain pirate crew, I need your help. Just help me with their location." Blaize disclosed his intention.
"Marine?" Everyone who heard the words was shocked, even Queen Otohime and Minister of Right aren't exceptions.
"Don't lie, marines don't visit the Fishman island. Who are you?" Minister of Right pointed his weapon at Blaize and asked with a force. Meanwhile, the Queen's guards also swiftly took action and encircled him.
"Whoa...Whoa...what are you guys doing, aiming your weapons at me? It's dangerous!" Blaize spoke while a powerful heat shockwave erupted from his body and shoved the guards away.
However, none of them are injured, thanks to him restraining his powers to a certain extent. Even so, it alarmed everyone as they mistook him for attacking the queen.
