Chapter 139 Third Meeting (2)
Chapter 139 - Third Meeting (2)
The master behind Shu Yan heard her, walked over, and touched the material. “This might not be warm enough for the purpose of autumn clothes and pants. I know of a thicker material.”
Shu Yan disagreed. Those who wanted to look pretty wouldn’t care that it wasn’t warm enough. “This will do. Let’s get some and see how they turn out. If it works out, we’ll create the pattern and make an entire batch of them.”
She bought black and red, the two most popular colors nowadays.
The factory was not doing well as of late. The more Shu Yan wanted, the more work they got, and that was how they’d get paid. Naturally, the master happily agreed to her suggestion.
Shu Yan went with them to the factory to make sure there were no other issues before she headed back to her shop. Business was decent in the afternoon, especially the summer clothes that they had identified. They were almost all gone. Zhang Huaxiu felt her heart bleeding. Clothes that were $30 ~ $40 were sold off for between $10 ~ $20. That was a big loss.
“Maybe we should stop with the promotion. We should be able to sell the rest.”
“That’s not the right way to look at it. If we don’t get rid of them today, what if the weather turns cold? Then we will have to put these into storage, and there is no guarantee that we’d be able to sell them next year.” Shu Yan disagreed. Zhang Huaxiu was a detail-oriented and good employee, but she lacks the drive and foresight. As an employee, she was amazing, but it’d be a long way to go to groom her to become the store manager.
Yingying had the day off yesterday, and Zhang Huaxiu wouldn’t be able to handle the shop on her own. When Shu Yan dropped her kids off in the morning, she made a point in asking Wu Xiuyue to pick up her kids for her. Lin Hui was there at the time and said the kids could go play at her place. When Shu Yan arrived at Lin Hui’s house, the two kids and Tongtong were still awake.
“They are still up at this hour?” Last time when Shu Yan was there, she made a point to commit to memory where Lin Hui lived, but she had never been inside before. She scanned the place. Two bedrooms and a living room. It was clean and tidy and the decors were cozy.
“It’s fine. It’s the weekend. I thought I’d let the kids have a break.” Lin Hui chuckled heartily. Her family was well off, so she and her husband moved out after they got married. This was a perfect house for a family of three.
“How’s your new house coming along? When are you moving in?” Shu Yan desperately wanted to move into her own house right now. There was no sense of security living in someone else’s.
“My remodeling was completed over a month ago. A few days ago, my mother-in-law went to get a reading and it was said that December 15 is a good day. So I am probably moving in that day. What about you?” Lin Hui was very excited when the topic of their new apartment came out.
“I have to wait till the end of the year as well. I don’t have the exact day yet. I will go and find out later.” Shu Yan patted the couch. “Your house is still pretty new. How come you want to move to a new one so soon?”
“This place is too small. When there’s a couple of guests, there isn’t even enough room to turn around. We have some extra money on our hands right, now so we thought we might as well switch to a bigger house.” Lin Hui was very happy when she thought about her new 120 square meter large house.
What Shu Yan really wanted to say was this place was pretty nice already. Just look at all of Wu Xiuyue’s family crammed into a 40 square meter place.
“Speaking of remodeling. I took a look at your place a couple days ago when I checked out mine. Your place is looking much better than mine. And those lights. Where did you get them from? They are so pretty.” Lin Hui wished she could tear down all the remodeling and start from scratch again.
