Chapter 5: Drunkenness
Chapter 5: Drunkenness
During the next two days, probably because classes had started, Ye Xun did not come to the store.
He Yu had closed the shop early at six o’clock and went home to change into a fancier outfit. Tonight was when He Yu agreed to eat hot pot with Jiang Yun and a few others at Guan Yin Qiao.
She changed into a white suspender skirt, one that complimented her figure and had an elastic band within the dress that perfectly accentuates her delicate waist.
Jiang Yun currently worked for a local private company and was recently promoted, so it was normal for her to be working overtime on the weekends. Jiang Yun originally agreed to pick her up around eight, but when it was 7:30, she sent a message of apology to He Yu. Jiang Yun was unable to leave work early, so she had sent someone else to pick up He Yu.
“The license plate number is BXXXXX, and it’s a black Land Rover. Just meet them downstairs, and they’ll drive you to the restaurant. Go ahead and order without me, I’ll try to get there as soon as I can.” Jiang Yun explained over the phone.
He Yu understood that Jiang Yun was busy, so she whispered a few words of encouragement and hung up.
She walked out of her building in heels, and stood at the gated entrance, waiting for her ride. The sun was setting, and the night wind blew gently through the air, cooling down the summer heat.
After a while, a black Land Rover could be seen on the horizon. The car stopped outside the gate, and He Yu stepped forward, but when she saw the driver, she froze.
Ye Xun sat in the driver’s seat, wearing a black t-shirt and overalls. However, today she wore her hair up, with a red and black striped hairband on her forehead, and pieces of hair hanging out on both sides.
Ye Xun tilted her head and looked at He Yu, leaned forward, and opened the passenger side’s door with one hand: “Get in.”
He Yu shook herself from a daze, bent forward, lifted her legs, sat down, and whispered: “Thanks.”
I didn’t expect it to be her.
Ye Xun hummed in response but didn’t say anything else.
He Yu lifted her hand and brushed her hair while turning away to look outside. There were many pedestrians on the streets today, and the neon lights of the stores made the atmosphere outside seem bright and lively. Suddenly, Ye Xun reached over and fastened He Yu’s seatbelt, her hand accidentally touching He Yu’s thigh. He Yu tensed a bit at the touch, almost jumping in her seat.
Ye Xun didn’t seem to notice and retracted her hand after the seatbelt was secured. She grabbed the wheel and started driving to the restaurant. The car was silent; no one spoke during the drive.
When they finally arrived at the hot pot restaurant, the little cousin from before was waiting for them at the door. Inside the restaurant, He Yu recognized a few people, and some of them greeted her. There were a few friends, and when everyone saw He Yu they greeted each other.
He Yu smiled back softly, and woman in yellow called out to her, pointing at the seat beside her.
The seat was at a round table, and if He Yu sat there, the table would be full.
When Ye Xun saw this, her face turned dark and sullen.
But before He Yu could move, the little cousin said to the woman in yellow: “Sister Chen, I want to sit with you! I haven’t seen you for so long. I miss you ~.”
The girl’s flattering and sweet words made everyone at the table laugh. Someone even teased her: “You miss your sister Chen, but what about the rest of us? Did you forget about us?”
The cousin grinned and said, “Of course I didn’t forget about you guys. I miss all of you so much!” She walked over and sat next to the woman in yellow.
Since the little cousin took her seat, He Yu sat at another table, and Ye Xun sat down next to her.
By the time Jiang Yun had arrived, it was about an hour later, and the food was almost all finished. Jiang Yun apologized profusely and paid the bill, and even invited everyone out to karaoke.
The little cousin and Ye Xun didn’t have any classes tomorrow morning, so they agreed to come along as well.

Inside the KTV room, the dim lights flickered as few people sang their hearts out. He Yu was quiet and gentle by nature, so she didn’t handle these events very well. She sat silently in the corner, sipping her drink.
Jiang Yun sat with her for a bit, drinking a large bottle of wine with her.
By the time half of the bottle was gone, the alcohol was already showing its effects. He Yu knew her limit and stopped herself from drinking any more. However, Jiang Yun had a higher level of tolerance and wanted to drink more, so she left He Yu to seek out other people willing to drink with her.
The woman in yellow glanced at the drunk and now alone He Yu and was about to sit down when Ye Xun beat her to it, stealing the spot next to He Yu.
The woman got the message, lifted her drink towards Ye Xun, and gulped down the glass in one shot.
Ye Xun ignored the woman.
He Yu felt lightheaded and dizzy, so she leaned against the couch with her eyes closed. When she felt somebody sit next to her, she wearily opened her eyes.
“Uncomfortable?” Ye Xun asked, whispering in her ear, “Do you want me to drive you home?”
Ye Xun’s body was very close to hers, almost touching, but there was still a distance between them. He Yu’s eyelids trembled. Just now, when Ye Xun spoke, her warm breath caressed her neck, making her feel hot. He Yu shook her head and murmured, “I’m fine…”
Then she laid her head back down to rest.
Suddenly, she felt something grab her waist, pulling her. Then a pair of hands rubbed gently against her temples.
Instantly she felt a lot better.
He Yu had no strength left in her and was too lazy to move. Instead, she enjoyed the massage and leaned deeper into Ye Xun’s arms.
Around half-past two, everyone slowly left the karaoke place. The cousin went with Jiang Yun, and Ye Xun was responsible for driving He Yu home.

He Yu’s building, underground garage.
In the backseat of the Land Rover, the atmosphere was heating up.
Maybe it was because of the alcohol, or the confusion from staying up so late. Either way, He Yu had no idea how she ended up in this situation.
She was straddling Ye Xun’s lap, their bodies hugging as they kissed each other deeply.
The night time was when desires were at their peak; a small spark can turn it into a raging flame.
However, He Yu still had a bit of reason left in her as she stopped Ye Xun’s hand from wandering down.
Ye Xun’s lips broke away from hers. Ye Xun wrapped her hands around that slender waist, and planted kisses on He Yu’s throat, whispering, “We won’t go all the way…”
Those words sent an electric shock up her spine and finding the excuse she needed, and He Yu let herself go.

Early the next morning, it was raining, and it cooled down the summer heat.
The indoor temperature was 21C; one could sleep comfortably until noon.
At eleven o’clock, He Xun woke up and sat up.
Although she drank last night, she still remembered everything. Her face turned red; the remaining feelings of lust remind her how crazy she was to do this.
Her body felt sore, and she couldn’t lift her arms at all.
Even if they didn’t go all the way.
She was stunned for a long time before putting on her clothes and getting out of bed. The hangover caused her to wake up with a headache, so she poured herself a glass of cold water.
She thought about last night, remembering Ye Xun’s awkward movements. She could tell Ye Xun was not very experienced, and she had to teach her most of it.
Afterward, she felt so weak that Ye Xun carried her home. Then they took a shower together, and she almost couldn’t stop herself.
Ye Xun had left early. She had classes in the afternoon.
Which is good, He Yu thought, it makes it less awkward if I don’t have to see her.
The smell of food came from the kitchen; it was from the pot of porridge on the stove.
He Yu felt hungry, so she grabbed herself a bowl after she showered. Then she quickly cleaned up everything and grabbed her bag. Today she was supposed to visit her family, and she wanted to arrive before lunch.
As she changed into her shoes at the entrance, she incidentally looked up and found a light green sticky note on the door. She took it off, and it said-
“You were beautiful last night.”
