The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 289 - 289 Aftermath

289 Aftermath

As Kyle and Kate were communicating with each other telepathically through their blood contract, no one else would be able to hear what they were talking with each other.

At this time, they were all just watching Lucy messing with her younger brother.

The sight was indeed really amusing.

“I’m going back now. You better be good here.” Lucy looked at her younger brother and sighed deeply.

“Don’t worry. I’ll not do anything strange.” Lucas reassured his sister.

“Let’s go back.” Jake stretched his hand. “We still have a lot of work to do in City E….”

“You’re not talking about going back to be a builder, right?” Marc looked at Jake warily. The memory of the time when he had to become a builder was still fresh in his mind even if it had been some time.

“No!” Jake also refused greatly. “I’m back to preparing my marriage.”

“Don’t mention it outside!” Lotte’s face was red again. She felt that this Jake was already so impatient to announce it to the outside world that he was getting married, ahh!

.....

“Why? There will be invitation letter!”

“Don’t say it here!”

The two of them have their usual couple quarrel as they walked out of the Research Institute. Other people who passed by these two gave them a sidelong glance, wondering why they had to be greeted by this unusual sight.

It was rare for them to eat a dose of dog food in such early morning, alright?

These researchers were mostly already advanced in age and looked at these young people messing around, they could only sigh at how nice it is to be young…

While silently returning to their own room to have their heart comforted by their partner.

And those who didn’t have partner could only go to their research room to finish their research and tried their best to forget this sudden ‘attack.’

Marc also walked back with Robby barking beside him and only Lucy stayed behind to ask for some matters to the doctors and researchers in regards of her brother.

Kyle shook his head. “I’m also going back.”

“Kyle,” Dylan called out.

“Yes?”

“I won’t be able to participate for outside mission again.” Dylan frowned and thought hard about this decision of his. He liked going out from time to time, but he didn’t want to make his family worried like this again.

When they saw the image of the entire City H being destroyed, it was estimated that they were so afraid that something happened to him. After all, he took the mission to City H back then.

“I know.” Kyle glanced at Dylan. “My father already informed me about that.”

“I’ll help from the back.” Dylan thought for some time. “If you need me, just call me.”

“In return, if you need me, you can call me too.” Kyle patted Dylan’s shoulder and Dylan also smiled back.

The two of them knew that while this might be only a verbal agreement, this was something that they would definitely adhere should there be something.

Even if this made Black Group’s comprehensive strength lower when they were taking mission from outside, it didn’t matter that much. Everyone had things they cared the most in their life and the appearance of these giant mutated animals only made them treasure what they have more than they had before.

Kate watched while staying in Kyle’s arm, feeling somewhat apprehensive.

She silently closed her eyes and fell into deep sleep while Kyle carried her back to their residence.

A week passed by quietly.

Kate thought that a lot of people hated reverse healers, but when she saw the videos circulating about the horrible treatment and the propaganda used about them, she felt that some people were crazy.

The background of this damn treatment was only because of a leader who had his opponent awakened reverse healing ability. In order to suppress the other party, he tried to goad the public opinion and pull more people to his side.

Some people truly believed his nonsense and those who gathered in City H were mostly people who easily believed in the masses. They were afraid of those who wielded reverse healing ability and hated being suppressed by the other party just because the reverse healing was so powerful.

Thus, they trapped those reverse healers to work for them.

It allowed them to feel satisfaction when they watched these reverse healers who were supposed to be powerful ended up in that desperate situation.

And there were even two other cities like them.

They were located quite far from here, so General Ryan simply stated that people from those two cities were not welcome in City E.

The videos circulated.

People easily sympathized with the weak and seeing the mistreatment of these innocent reverse healer who didn’t know much, the people in City E supported them instead.

This was what made Kate a bit dumbfounded. She never thought that it would actually happen this way.

And Kate stayed in General Ryan’s house once a week.

That was under General Ryan’s request because he said that his house was too empty and that bratty son of his would not be willing to accompany him. Kyle was rolling his eyes in annoyance, but Kate agreed.

In her opinion, it was just staying over. Not a big deal at all.

“That’s great, since you’re staying over, do you want to stay in Kyle’s room….”

And General Ryan was kicked out by Kyle before he could finish his outrageous request. After Kate could return to be human, she would stay in a separate room. Anyway, her room in the seventh underground floor was furnished well and could be lived almost immediately.

Knock! Knock!

“Yes?” Kate opened the door and saw Kyle standing there while holding a glass of milk.

“Warm milk before sleeping.” Kyle smiled gently. “You haven’t been drinking milk for some time.”

Kate looked at the milk helplessly but still accepted it as she welcomed Kyle to her room.
