The Tale of Hero Alice’s Social Death

Chapter 280: Why Are You Sweating?

Chapter 280: Why Are You Sweating?

"What the"

Alice was visibly shocked that she had just torn Little Death to shreds. She had originally thought Little Death would use some sort of defensive spell against her Frenzied Screech, so she didn't bother weakening it deliberately. Meanwhile, once a panty taboo was cast, it would no longer be under Alice's control. So, even when Alice noticed that Little Death did not try to defend herself, it was too late for her to do anything.

Taboos that came attached to panties were incredibly powerful. Moreover, most of them could cause exaggerated levels of destruction. So, it was already fortunate that Little Death's body was only ripped to pieces instead of being turned into minced meat after suffering the full brunt of Alice's Frenzied Screech.

Even so, Alice didn't think Little Death could survive the attack. The undead might be sturdier than other races, but Alice doubted that even an undead could survive having their body torn to shreds.

Frenzied Screech's effect lasted for a minute. After one minute passed, the ear-piercing sound waves gradually dissipated. Although the powerful sound waves had turned the forest into a mess, they didn't leave behind any pollutants. So, the forest should recover given enough time.

If Alice were to point out an advantage wide-area taboo had over nuclear bombs, it would probably have to be their "green" nature. They wouldn't leave behind any harmful pollutants that would plague the affected area for multiple generations.

There also wouldn't be any need to worry that the demon realm's polluted environment might prevent this forest from recovering. The demon realm's environment might be polluted, but it didn't prevent living things from growing. In the case of plants, the pollutants in the air only caused them to develop in a somewhat strange manner.

After the sound waves dissipated completely, Alice scanned the surroundings and felt the beginnings of a migraine. This was because fallen leaves and upheaved dirt covered the entire forest. Finding Little Death's remnants in this situation would be incredibly difficult.

Fortunately, it didn't take long before Alice found a part of Little Death's body nearby. Moreover, it just so happened to be the undead girl's head.

Although the sight of half a head sticking out of a pile of leaves and dirt was quite frightening, Alice suppressed her uneasiness and walked over to the severed head. Then, she picked up Little Death's head and asked, "Umm Still alive?"

The undead were soul-based creatures, so even if their physical body was separated into several pieces, they wouldn't actually be considered dead. After all, their physical body had originally been a "corpse." Even so, Alice couldn't be certain if Little Death was still alive now that the undead girl was left with nothing but a severed head. Part of the head's jaw was even missing.

"Ah, I'm still alive. Don't worry."

However, just when Alice was thinking of abandoning hope, the severed head suddenly started speaking. This unexpected development had caught Alice off guard, and she very nearly threw the head away.

"I just feel a little dizzy from eating a dark-type sound attack at such close range. Hiss I can still feel my ears ringing."

"So you can experience ear-ringing?"

Alice originally thought an undead's five senses would work differently from normal people. She thought that Little Death might be simulating her senses with magic, just like she did with her voice. However, judging by Little Death's words, it would seem that the undead girl could actually hear through her ears.

"Are youalright?" Alice asked hesitantly as she looked at the severed head in her hands. After all was said and done, Little Death was an undead with cognitive abilities and relatively good combat power. If there was a way she could help Little Death recover, she would naturally do her best to help the other party.

"I'm fine. The only problem is that only my head is left," Little Death said with a stiff expression. Due to her missing body, the flow of mana within her had become a little stagnant. As a magically created existence, she was having a somewhat difficult time adapting to this situation. "But it'll be simple for me to recover. Just prepare tons of fresh meat for me."

"Only fresh meat?" Alice was stunned. Then, she curiously asked, "Do you not need anything else? For example, the Seed of Nature."

Alice still had a Seed of Nature in her possession. If Little Death needed it, Alice didn't mind giving it to her. After all, Little Death had already proven her strength. The undead girl might not be able to utilize the massive amounts of mana within her body to a precise extent and cast taboos, but even releasing that mana in a brute force manner would grant her combat power surpassing the Four Heavenly Kings.

"The Seed of Nature? The one that the elves have?" Little Death asked, taking a moment to remember what the Seed of Nature was. Then, she shook her head slightly. However, her head-shaking felt more like a brief vibration to Alice due to her lack of a neck. "I don't need that. An undead's body must remain in a deceased state. The body created using a Seed of Nature is brimming with life, so an undead's soul can't enter it."

"Is that so?" Alice nodded, expressing her understanding. "How should the meat be processed? Do I need to use it to make a body for you?"

"No need for such trouble. All you need to do is feed fresh meat to me," Little Death said before revealing her sharp teeth. Then, she continued, "Thankfully, my head is still here, so I can still eat meat. The missing parts of my body will grow back so long as I consume enough meat."

"What a simple and crude way of handling things" Alice's mouth twitched a little. "What would happen if the part that went missing was the head?"

"In that case, all you need to do is supply me with enough mana. But it's going to take a lot of mana. Even if you are a Demon King, you won't be able to fill me up completely in one go. It'll probably take you quite a few rounds," Little Death explained. "You could use that method if you really wanted to, but I think it's just a waste of time and energy. It'll be much more efficient if you just had someone bring me enough fresh meat. After all, you are the Demon King. You have the entire demon realm at your service."

"So you finally recognize me as the Demon King?" Alice said, glaring at Little Death's severed head. "Was it really necessary for you to pick a fight with me?"

"Ahahaha. Well, I was doing it out of precaution since I came across a scammer in the past," Little Death said, not minding Alice's dissatisfaction in the slightest. Instead, she explained, "Which generation was it I don't really remember. Anyway, there was this one Demon King I came across in the past. He lost the Torres Royal Coin to the Hero during one of their clashes. Then, that Hero somehow managed to acquire information on me and even found me. Then, that Hero pretended to be a Demon King and made me do his biddings.

"I didn't think too much about it at the time and simply followed him. However, sometime later, I noticed that even though that guy could use taboos, he hadn't used dark-type taboos even once before. Afterward, I launched a sneak attack on him and forced him to use light-type taboos. Then, I realized that I've been had."

Little Death paused for a moment. Then, she earnestly said, "So, to avoid getting tricked by the Hero again, I decided to always check if the Demon Kings that I come across can use dark-type taboos What's wrong? Why are you sweating?"
