Chapter 63: Returning Part 1
Chapter 63: Returning Part 1
It has been over 30 minutes since Azmond began his fall after the collapse of the pitch-black dimension he unknowingly trapped himself in.
......
"So... is this my life now?" Azmond asked himself with a bored tone as he stared down and saw the bottomless nothingness that felt like it would go on forever.
"It shouldn't be, right? I mean, there has to be something at the end of this deep void." Azmond decided he would think optimistically about this situation.
He would rather not entertain the idea that this hole stretched on infinitely or that his life would end if there truly was a bottom to this space.
....
30 more minutes pass...
"Is that light...?" Azmond's bored expression changed to one of slight surprise as he caught a glimpse of what looked like a small light shining brightly at an unknown distance away from him.
...
"At the speed I am going, I should have appeared next to the light as soon as I saw it, but for some reason. No such thing has happened." Azmond thought to himself in bewilderment when he noticed the light not appearing any noticeably closer after a few seconds of waiting.
"It must be extremely far away from my current position, huh?" A nonchalant voice sounded from Azmond as his arms never left his chest.
Azmond was taking this whole situation as one big joke. He was hoping to get some training in with his Quantum Gate Skill, but before he even had the chance to test out his Ultimate Skill a second time, the entire dimension started to collapse in on itself.
You could imagine his disappointment at not being able to develop his power even further.
Although he would never have guessed that he had already mastered the Quantum Gate Skill on his first try...
The key to mastering the Quantum Gate Skill was actually to compress the energy within a large enough black hole.
You were meant to spend days, if not weeks, and months trying everything you could think of while casting the Quantum Gate Skill countless times. Risking great injury to yourself with each cast and, in more severe cases, death.
It was supposed to be an arduous trial set up by yourself, and yet...
Azmond completed it just like that, barely breaking a sweat.
The catalyst that brought about this insane comprehension speed was because he wanted to try something 'fun' before launching the Quantum Gate Skill.
In a way, you could attribute Azmond's absurd mastery of the Quantum Gate Skill to his past life's cultured self.
He didn't watch anime or TV shows much in his past life, but that didn't mean that rare entertainment like that wasn't present in between the times he wasn't training as hard as he could.
However, if you accused Azmond of slacking off when he wasn't 'training' then he would just tell you that watching anime and performing other cultural actions was just another form of 'training'.
Azmond was a very 'unique' man...
....
Another 30 minutes passed...
"Well, the light is certainly a lot closer now than it was, but it is still quite a while away." A voice of indifference echoed out of Azmond's mouth, as even his voice couldn't keep up with the speed at which he was currently traveling.
"I think it will take a few hours for me to reach that light at my current pace." Azmond gazed off into the deep void below him and approximated his estimated arrival time to the now significantly larger source of light.
"Oh well... I don't mind waiting a few more hours if it means that light is my ticket out of this place." Azmond's impassive voice sounded once more as he tightened his arms even more around his chest.
If one could even comprehend the speed at which Azmond was moving and looked at his current posture, They would surely think that he was just going down a fun water slide.
A very ominous water slide of the unknown in this case...
.....
4 hours passed in the blink of an eye...
"Ugh, it was so dark before, and now it is as bright as it could be!" A slightly annoyed look emerged on Azmond's features as he used one of his arms to cover up his eyes from the blinding light that surrounded Azmond's vision on all sides.
"Am I not through whatever this bright light is yet?? Why is it taking so long for it to do whatever it's trying to do???" Impatience spread across Azmond's features as he gave the glowing light that pervades his surroundings a deep death stare through his covered-up eyes.
"You better take me somewhere soon, or so help me go-" Anger was swelling up within Azmond's heart as he was about to give the non-sentient light a big earful, but before he could get out the rest of his profanities, something changed.
A light brighter than even the radiance that surrounded Azmond right now suddenly flashed right in front of his face.
"Ah, you f*cking bastards are really itching to die, aren't you? I am about to do to you what I did to that useless dark dimension up above!" Azmond's eyes flickered dangerously before he went to lift up his hand, trying to summon his Quantum Gate Skill again.
He really wasn't the forgiving type for things that annoyed the hell out of him, and the pitch black dimension up above had already irked him greatly.
This light space was just looking to take on the full brunt of Azmond's fury.
Qi began to swirl around Azmond's hands as he wanted to use the Quantum Gate Skill just like he did last time, but before the energy in the air could fully gather around him.
The bright flash of light suddenly got brighter and brighter.
Azmond could've sworn that he was now blind, but before he had any more time to dwell on his quandaries, the glaring light increased in intensity once more before it abruptly disappeared completely.
"Huh...?"
It was an odd occurrence that quelled Azmond's irritation by a little as he took away the arm that was covering his eyes and took a good look around him, and what he saw surprised him.
"The giant spiritual stones?!?" Azmond took one good scan of his surroundings and saw dozens of giant spiritual stones and the huge tree standing right next to his nude figure.
