The Rise of the White Lotus

Chapter 369 Excited to see daddy

Chapter 369 Excited to see daddy

Two days later…

The said date that Ethan Lu personally arranged to invite Louis Lu over for dinner finally came. The time that they expected for Louis Lu to arrive in the country was eight in the evening. Therefore, they still had five hours left before this grand meeting was about to occur.

Within those two short days, Lexi and Ethan Lu insisted that Victoria Tang and her child, Vincent Tang should just stay in their place. Furthermore, Ethan Lu had been quite busy as he has to hustle before their wedding date that will take place one month from now. Hence, Victoria Tang and her kid always tagged along with Lexi as Vincent Tang would just have to drop by in the hospital.

"Nico, how's the production? Will we make it?" Inside her office, Lexi was enjoying a hot healthy tea courtesy from her mother as she glanced over the cup that was on her lips to Nico Zhuang's direction.

After signing a contract with Aubrey Ning, Beauty DR had been particularly busy because Aubrey Ning had begun distributing her products to all her resources. Getting Rika Song as the main endorser of her brand also helped a lot as their sales gradually rose and the brand was hyped up. Therefore, in a short amount of time, the second batch to be delivered doubled in amount compared to their first batch.

It was a blessing yet also a dilemma to her right now as Lexi was short on manpower.

"No, unless your people have to work overtime for two weeks." Shaking his head, Nico Zhuang honestly relayed his assumption.

After Ethan Lu's proposal, Nico Zhuang had to be transferred to assist Lexi's business as he knew her plans and has been with her since day one. Thus, his job as a bodyguard was put on pause because Ethan Lu could not afford to stress Lexi too much while she was pregnant.

Thanks to Nico Zhuang, Beauty DR had been operating smoothly whenever Lexi wasn't around especially in the lab as Ethan Lu forbid her to surround herself with whatever medicines were inside the place— no matter how organic they were. Also, with his presence and guidance, Lexi would only have to deal with major deals and paperwork that needed her signature.

"I see…" Nodding in understanding, Lexi contemplated what she will do next. She could post up a job opportunity but still, even if she gets the opportunity to hire sufficient people to work on the production, they would have to train them for a period of time.

After all, she could not rush the people to know immediately about how the company operates as it would only cause another headache if their products were half-heartedly delivered. Lexi could not afford to drop the quality of her products even if it's just packaging. Moreover, this was a crucial time for her company as she has to establish a good reputation.

"Then, let's do that first and give the increase they needed. I'll contact the HR for a job post." Pinching the bridge of her nose, Lexi ordered that made Nico Zhuang nod in understanding. She added,

"Also, if we are still short on time, we'll have to deliver the partial stocks to our clients."

"Understood." Nico Zhuang slightly bowed his head in understanding before he slowly stood from his seat. Unconsciously, he glanced at Victoria Tang and a child inside the room that remained quiet before he left the room to execute Lexi's orders just like an obedient and reliable assistant.

"I should have thought more ambitiously and hired more people before." Mumbling, Lexi massaged her temples as she wanted to lend a hand to her company. Alas, with her current situation, Lexi didn't want to put her children's lives at stake hence, the dilemma.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Watching how Lexi calmed her nerves as she mumbled every so often, Victoria Tang broke her silence.

Throughout Nico Zhuang and Lexi's conversation, she got the gist of her problem. Although Lexi's final resort to deliver partial orders to her clients was good, still, Victoria Tang felt a little ashamed as Lexi had been treating her very well and she wanted to at least repay her kindness.

"No, it's alright I think." Lightly, Lexi shook her head sideways. "But, I appreciate the thought." After massaging her temples, Lexi raised her gaze to see Victoria Tang's pretty front.

"Anyways, you don't have to worry because later, little Vin would have to meet his father." Diverting the subject, Lexi smiled as she moved her gaze to Vincent Tang that also smiled brightly upon hearing her remarks.

"Mommy, I'm excited to see Daddy!" As if he was just any other healthy child, little Vincent Tang excitedly turned to his mother with a bright grin that revealed his small teeth.

"Mhmm…" Nodding her head as she gently patted her son's head, Victoria Tang hummed a tune. No one could guess if she was also excited to meet Louis Lu after all these fleeting years or not.

"Uhm, Vic?" Lexi's forefinger circled around on the tip of her cup of tea as she contemplated whether if she should ask her a question or not.

"Yes?"

"Are you nervous?" Deciding not to ask if Victoria Tang had feelings for Louis Lu even just a tiny bit, Lexi refrained herself from asking because little Vincent Tang was there.

Victoria Tang only smiled awkwardly that revealed that she was indeed nervous even without saying it. Granted that she unhesitantly decided to meet Louis Lu, however, her resolve at that time was firm. But now, just two days after they landed in the country, the waiting these days to meet Louis Lu in an official meeting had turned a little dreaded.

Would he be happy? Mad? Would he even care? Well, he might question if he was the real father but Victoria Tang was confident even if a paternity testing was done.

"It's okay…" Putting down the cup of tea, Lexi offered a comforting smile to her. If only she could reach her hand, Lexi had probably held them to ease her heart and mind just like what her mother always does to her.

"Lou… He might be weird but he's a responsible person. I trust that everything will be fine in the end." Lexi added as she nodded her head once to assure Victoria Tang's mind.
