The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 433 - Failed?

The words made everyone present there, shocked. More likely to say, everyone was frozen to their seats, where it took a couple of minutes to recover from what they had heard.

"Y-You are saying that you already have the documents, Mr. Smith?"? It was Mr. Greyson asked first, with the entire disbelief written over his head.

In response to his wordings, Lucas had given a strong nod, to express his feelings, "Why delay it anymore? Since we have already discussed everything and talked about each matter in detail, I don't like to take much of your time either. I have already brought the necessary papers that were required. If you..."

"Su-sure..." Mr. Greyson showed no display of issue on his behalf.

On his agreement, Lucas's brows lifted from the space before he rotated his head to look at Jennifer, who was also sitting in his arms.

She was taken back.? What was the need to seal the deal this instant? More likely to say, she could feel her own breath halting in the middle and protesting again.

Yet she was brought back to reality as his words trailer into her ears. "You are overthinking, My love. On the other side of the bar, there is a big bag.. Please bring it for me..."

"Y-You want me to bring it?" Jennifer once again asked to confirm, with uncertainty clear in her speech.

"Yes, I want you to bring it. I don't trust anyone else. There must be a bag there.. just..bring it here for me.." Lucas had pointed out his fingers in the direction of the other side, which made Jennifer tilt her glance as well.

Taking a deep breath, Jenifer bought a fake smile to move her lips before she broke out of his embrace to get up on her toes and walk to the side of the bar..

Meanwhile, Jack is also pulled out, where he had tried his best to hide the sentiment.

But on the second note, his heart was filled with joy as he realized something about Lucas "Aren't you in any hurry, Lucas? What is the need for you to be so swift in everything?"

Starring in Jack's direction, Lucas answered back, "Because I don't like my things to be snatched either if something is mine...I won't let it slip away for my hands.." Lucas's words did make a lot of sense,

It gave the meaning of the wider picture to him itself.

A faint smile pulled on, where Jack can't help but comment back? "So impatient you. Mr. Greyson, I was going to say, I do have better options for you. If you want, we can a-" Jack was cut off in the middle by no one else but by Lucas himself, who had stepped on everything that was taking place.

"You don't have to offer anything right now, Jack. I think you can do everything.,..after we sign our deal." Lucas's eyes had narrowed where he had realized how Jack was doing everything to snatch his things.

At this thought, his forehead lines even deepened more, where he knew that it was all a dangerous situation.

Meanwhile, Mr. Greyson had kept himself quiet throughout but then, he had coughed slightly. Lifting his head, he saw both brothers before he gave his final wordings.

"Since I already discussed everything with Mr. Smith, I'll go ahead in dealing with the things. let's seal this for once and all since Miss Taylor is bringing up the papers.."

At the same time, Jennifer had come near the bar and looked around to see the black bag. As she caught the peak of the same, she stepped ahead to pick it in her hand to open it immediately and found that there were three documents that needed to be signed.

'So..Lucas had brought these documents all together with him?' her intuition didn't work in the right direction either.

Why was she getting all the goosebumps in her heart?

From the back of her mind, she can't help but realize some important facts. As her mind rolled in the other two directions, subconsciously, Jennifer's gaze went down to read the documents which she held.

Keeping the same expressionless face, she read the content inside but didn't mutter a single thing.

Neither was there any drastic change in her facial expressions, which would hardly be guessed by what she had read just now.

"Jennifer! Please bring the papers now.." Lucas yelled at the top of her lungs which she heard from behind.

At last, Jennifer had finally closed the bag and brought one pen and the documents in her hand. Waking back in his direction, she kept them on the table there itself.

Throughout the conversations and the reactions that took place, Olivia and Jenifer had no say to give in.

Their work was to simply witness the few talks that were taking place of the two brothers.

While Jack was still trying to pester Mr. Greyson that he should at least reconsider, Mr. Greyson had made up his mind.

Whereas, Lucas can't help but be happy to notice that Mr. Greyson had courageously shut Jak down.

A smirk head covered his lip, where he had happily brought papers in front of Mr. Greyson, "You need to sign here, Mr. Greyson..."

"Alright." Mr. Grey took the pen in his hand, officially gave his signature on the required pages.

He had kept an absolutely non-emotional face and a faint smile on his lips, where the rest of the people noted how hurriedly Lucas was successful in getting the papers signed by Mr. Greyson.

At this point, Jennifer's gaze traveled to see Jack, how he kept the indifferent look on his face. She couldn't define many things, since the heart was still not settled.

'Wasn't he supposed to stop this? Was this his hard work? Puff..it was of no use...' In the end, the papers were still signed by the man and Lucas got his investor.

The thought came inside her mind, making her heart be tangled with the beats of the cages.

She had tried to roll her eyes, but on the second note to avoid suspicion,? she was the first one to come forward and give Lucas a wide hug, as her laugh was heard.

"I'm so happy for you..Lucas. You finally did it!"
