The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 116 - Saved

Chapter 116 - Saved

Amaira had no courage left over to open her eyes. Yet in the end, she knew that something wasn't right.

When her mother lifted her hand to slap her, why was there no pain on her body or cheek?

Amaira reopened her one eye, to see that everything was entirely unexpected and something which she never imagined.

Slowly And steadily, Amaira lifted off her hand from her face as she put it down and looked worriedly at the current position.

Javier was holding Shirley's hand with force, stopping her in the middle to raise her here on Amaira.

Jennifer too stood up from her seat in anger and walked closer to them.

But Javier was surely mining deathly aura around him. Shirley, who was currently burning in the pit of rage, greeted her teeth, "Javier! leave my wrist."

"So that you can raise your hand against her?" Javier's heavy voice sounded too cold to hear out. Even Jennifer, who has seen many shades of his, was surprised by his support and protectiveness towards Amaira.

Doesn't he like her? So why save her?

Shirley's face warmed up, when she replied once again with evident anger, "What!? You have a problem with that!? She is my daughter, I have the right to discipline her as per my wish and whenever I want!"

Shirley's words contained no sense, that is what Javier thought.

He was simply aloof as always, and even Jennifer didn't stop him this time. Meanwhile, Amaira was amazed by what exactly was happening with her? Wasn't her mother going to slap her so tight for revoking and answering her back?

Moreover, doesn't brother Javier hates her? His hatred for their mother is deep, she is very well aware of the same, and being her daughter, she knows that the same feelings are arising for her. Yet, he is there, not letting her mother hit her.

Amaira felt something unimaginable crawl under her skin. For a few seconds, her mind was mixed with emotions, on the verge of having a breakdown.

Somehow she coped with the pressure, but her eyes never tore from her brother's face even for a mere second.

"Shirley…. You are right, she is your and my father's child but let me remind you, I will never let any child get injured or hit in front of me. Has that registered inside your small brain? If not, tell me clearly, I will make sure that it does.." His approach was, as usual, Aggressive.

Meanwhile, Shirley's face lost all its color. Her heart was operating at a loud beat, after the threat that came on her way by him. Her entire body stiffed as Javier sent constant daggers in her direction.

No, how can she be so easily defeated by everything? Is Shirley Johnson giving up in front of Javier?

Shirley's mind ran through thousands of thoughts but nothing seemed right. Javier was so cold, where her other hand started trembling with the intense look of the shimmer in his eyes.

"I...I.."

"Amaira, go back to your room. Sorry, but eat your lunch there itself." Jennifer interpreted and spoke to Amaira on a much lighter note.

But her eyes covered the message which she wanted to convey via her eyes: Don't talk to your mother for a while..

Jennifer and Amaira exchanged the words via their eyes and understood the facial expressions. Blinking her eyes, Amaira made her way to her room, without glazing in her mother's direction even for a second.

At the same time, Javier left Shirley's wrist. A sudden pain hit her in her hand, where she held it delicately and settled down on her face. "Ouch..this.."

"Apply something before your hand cracks! You don't want your hand to be disabled, right Mrs. Johnson?" Jennifer ignited the fire and added more fear to frightened which not only made Shirley crumble but anxiousness consumed her.

Quickly leaving the dining hall, Shirley walked back to her room to apply some kind of medicine, ignoring that her daughter was mad at her.

Not caring about anything in the world, she simply cared about herself and her wellbeing.

A sigh escaped Jennifer's lips when she realized how bad her mother Shirley is. She might have given birth to the daughter, but treating her harshly wasn't the way to raise a kid, especially a grown-up child.

'Now I feel, I know why Amaira feels so suffocated and suffering so much here..' her heart squeezed at the thought of the little girl suffering in hands of the mother and her female affairs.

Lifting her gaze, she looked at Javier who was no less intimidating. "Javier...are you alright?" Jennifer kept their hand on his shoulders to relax him a little bit and bring him back to his normal state.

Javier's eyes were looking in the direction where Shirley left and nodded his head. "I'm fine..it's just that… I don't know what consumed me and took over that I stopped her.."

"It is fine. At last, whatever you did was absolutely correct. She has no right to beat her child.. Her grown-up child when she was right.." to lift up his mood, she supported him with her words which somehow made him a bit stress-free.

"Butler, please take the plates. We are dome eating.." Javier ordered and the butler asked the other servants to clean the table.

Jenifer too lost her appetite to eat further, and Javier's mood totally turned gloomy after the scene.

To cheer him up she finally asked in a cheerful voice, "You don't have any work? we can watch something.."

"No, I have some work. I will have to leave for now… you go and take a rest in the bedroom that Charles might have shown you." With this, he stepped towards the main entrance but from behind, Jennifer Shouted, "WAIT RIGHT THERE!"

He stopped in his tracks, without turning back. Waiting for her to come and tell him, but her actions did surprise him like a thundershock, frozen from head to toe.
