Chapter 1193: Banished Dark Moon Persona (1)
Rex never knew where it came from, but he hated to be inside water.
It was probably due to the fact that his element was on land, not in the deep water.
Gasping for breath, his chest heaving as he fought off the lingering dread from almost being drowned by the Time Draugars, he looked around anticipating more attacks coming his way, but thankfully there was no Time Draugars anywhere.
He sucked in the frigid air into his lungs, but relief turns out to be fleeting.
His danger sense prickled an instinctual alarm that sent a jolt through his weary body.
Looking down, his eyes widened in horror at the sight below.
A gaping maw of a monstrous creature, lurked just beneath him—sending rapid tingles to his feet. Its many teeth, glinting ominously beneath the water's surface. In the next, instant—the water monster surged upwards, its massive form cleaving through the water with speed.
Under the sheer impact, Rex was propelled skywards along the creature's momentum.
He managed to avoid being swallowed by holding onto the creature's sharp teeth.
Before him was the creature's long, serpentine body that unfurled.
It was adorned with scales that shimmer with an eerie luminescence in the low visibility of the area—displaying that it was nothing less, than an ancient—ferocious beast. Rex would guess that it's a leviathan of this water.
A mutated eel of some sort, disturbed by the fight between him and the Time Draugars.
Despite its horrifying appearance, what was more horrifying was its stats.
...
<Albino Elder Eel>
Race: Mutated Chordata - Elder Eel
Power: Tenth-Rank (Early) - Gravity Alteration (2)
Mental: 71,250 (+30,000)
Strength: 3,775,500 (+400,000)
Agility: 650,100 (+105,000)
Endurance: 4,320,198 (+580,000)
Intelligence: 310,000
Danger Zone: Mouth and Tail.
...
It's an established tenth-rank realm! Its endurance is too high, I can't win!
Seeing the mutated eel's stats, Rex gulped harshly as it was way higher than his stats.
He couldn't be compared to this mutated eel, the gap in strength was too much. One and the only redeeming thing he has, compared to the mutated eel, is his speed—which is a lot faster than the mutated eel.
Aside from that, he was completely outclassed.
As Rex was hurled into the air, his mind raced, desperately calculating his next move.
Fortunately, he had managed to transform into his Werewolf form and become big enough to keep himself, outside of the mutated eel's mouth. If he hadn't done that, he would have been inside the mutated eel's stomach right now.
Locking gaze with the mutated eel's cold and unblinking eyes, its intent clear and deadly.
"Kahkk!" Rex's body arced through the air.
For a heart-stopping moment, he hung suspended between the sky and the abyssal water.
But at that moment when time slowed down, Rex realized that he was out of the water.
I can dash to the land right now!
Charging his kingly energy and red force energy to his feet, he prepared to make a leap back to the safety of the land—but when he was about to do that—a frown crossed his face as he came to realize something.
Gazing back at the mutated eel, he realized that the pulling force was coming from it.
It was not the water that clung onto him, but this thing's power instead!
Realizing that this mutated eel was extremely dangerous—as it opened its monstrous maw wider—ready to claim him, adrenaline began to course through his veins and enhanced his senses, every second stretched into an eternity.
Should I use the Order Skill right here?
But I don't know how to gain Divine Upgrade yet, and it might be extremely rare!
Rex was undecided, he knew the danger but he didn't want to waste the Divine Upgrade he gained from beating an extremely hard opponent like the Fifthborn. In an attempt to escape without the Order Skill, he pushed himself away from the mutated eel.
Naturally, the pulling effect made it extremely heavy to do something as easy as that.
Even then he was able to free himself enough from the pulling effect.
It costs him to cast Primordial Step that stripped a lot of his stamina and also a ton of kingly and other energies, but nevertheless, he broke free. However, before he could dash away—he was shocked to see a second mutated eel leaping out of the water.
At that moment, he saw in his periphery that the assault team was about to help him. Read the latest on m_v-l'e|-NovelBin.net
Despite the danger, all of them were readying to jump into the water.
Maybe none of them could provide substantial help for Rex, against the two mutated eels—but, at the very least they could attract their attention, and chase after them instead. But at the sight of this, Rex pointed at them, signaling them to stay ashore.
Only then that his pupils dilate, and his mind fixed on what to do.
<3 Divine Points have been deducted>
<Activating the Banished Dark Moon Order skill...>
Just like before, the change happened almost in an instant.
His King Mark that was split into two sides merged, dominated by the Banished Dark Moon.
Moreover, his kingly energy turned absolutely black and morphed his appearance.
Branches of kingly energy spread from his King Mark to the side of his face,
In a flash, his curving horns took the hue of darker black, and the corruption from the Order Skill stained his eyes, turning them completely black, as he transformed into the persona of the Banished Dark Moon.
Additionally, unlike the Blood Moon Order skill, his clothes also changed.
Under the manipulation of his black kingly energy, he was covered in regal black attire with a hooded black cape, on the back. He felt that the clothes—held an insurmountable amount of energy as the majority of his kingly energy went there.
Following his instincts, he covered his body with kingly energy as the mutated eel stuck.
Swoosh!
As opposed to swallowing Rex whole, his body phased through its maw, avoiding the attack.
Rex then looked at the black cloth near his hands, and with a simple command, in his mind— he bore witness to the scene of his attire elongating—and covering both of his hands, before they took the form of two massive black hands.
In reflex, he locked his massive hands together and did a hammer fist at the mutated eel.
He made a heavy swing that sent the mutated eel straight into the water again.
SPLASH!!
"Holy shit... I got so much stronger with the Banished Dark Moon Order skill," He mused.
Compared to the Blood Moon Order skill, he was stronger now.
<Notice: Since the user, is at the second ascension of the Banished Dark Moon, the increase in stats is higher than when the user is in the Blood Moon Persona form as the user is only at the first ascension of the Blood Moon King Mark>
Reading the notification from start to end, Rex found it logical.
He was indeed stronger in his Banished Dark Moon King Mark compared to his other one.
As he struck the second mutated eel—with the first one already went back to the water, Rex had a small window to contemplate his next move. Out of the things he could do, he decided to glance at the effect the Banished Dark Moon Order skill brings.
<Upon purchasing the Blood Moon Order skill, the user's combined kingly energy, transforms into Banished Dark Moon kingly energy, turning the user into the Banished Dark Moon Persona—All skills, that are associated with the Banished Dark Moon, are amplified, and will also gain the following benefits:>
→ Exponential boost in overall stats.
→ Lose the ability to feel anger entirely in exchange for extremely heightened senses.
→ Gain the Banish Lock skill and Robe of the Dark Lunirich.
→ Regress the user's strength significantly but gain a banishing effect for any attack thrown.
Compared to the Blood Moon Order skill, the effects gained were massively different.
Rex was surprised to see that he lost his ability to feel anger.
Since it was the key factor of a Werewolf, he was not expecting that becoming the Banished Dark Moon Persona would erase his ability to become angry like that. Moreover, he also gain two other things that he didn't understand, a skill and a banishing effect.
...
<Banish Lock>
Rank: Fractional Divine (Twelfth-rank)
Mastery: Low
Description: A godly skill that allows the user to go through any living being and locking them in place for a period of time, depending on the user's mastery and the gap in strength. Under the stun effect, the next attack dealt to the target would be amplified by 300%. It can only be used once for a singular use of the Banished Dark Moon Order skill—and there is no limiter to the skill.
<Notice: In the Banished Dark Moon Persona form, the user's attack would be empowered by a banishing effect that puts a counter above the target's head that could only be seen by the user. The counter act as an indication of how many banishing shields, that the user could use against the target>
<Reaching five counters will evoke a banished field that nullifies all of the target's abilities>
<Important note: The counter will be reset depending on the mastery and gap in power>
...
Just from a glance, Rex could already tell that the effects were ridiculously strong.
He couldn't believe that the Banished Dark Moon could be this strong.
Compared to the Blood Moon Order skill effects, these effects were versatile, complimenting both defense and offense styles of fighting. It is good to know, he now had a feeling that the Banished Dark Moon Order skill would be his favorite one.
Focusing back on the situation, Rex could see the mutated eels were not done with him.
Despite being freed, he decided to test out his new skills.
Since he already paid 3 Divine Upgrades for activating the Banished Dark Moon Order skill, he was not going to waste it. At the very least he would try and see what the effects would feel like firsthand.
From the description, the phasing ability I did before should be the Banish Lock skill.
I could only use that one time, so there's no trying it out again.
Based on the description and what had happened earlier—knowing full well that the mutated eel's endurance was way above his league, Rex was quite sure that the Banish Lock skill was used at that time.
Only when his strength was enhanced three times could he do something like that.
Now, he decided to try out the banishing effect.
Roar!!
Like two intertwining snakes—both mutated eels exploded from the water, and opened their massive maws. Not even backing down, Rex's eyes gleamed in a deadly manner as he dived right toward the two massive creatures.
Using his kingly energy, he glides in the air as if he were surfing the wind.
In a frantic manner, he unleashed a mighty roar back before a powerful shockwave exploded.
Boom!!
Just like that, Rex began to wrestle with the two mutated eels.
On the other hand, the assault team including Flunra and Gistella were completely stunned.
Even though the distance between them, and the mutated eels were quite far away—about a kilometer or so, they could feel the devastating aura emitted from both monsters. It was easy to tell that both were way stronger than even the Werepanther from before.
However, despite that fact, Rex decided to fight them instead of running away from them.
"It's like last time, but now his Banished Dark Moon King Mark was taking over..." Flunra said.
Upon hearing this, Gistella shook her head in utter disbelief.
She couldn't see Rex's situation clearly from this distance, but she couldn't mistake the sheer amount of exhilaration—that she was feeling the emotion Rex was feeling, right now. Pivoting around, she looked at the others, "Alright, let's continue mapping the place,"
"We'll leave the Emperor to his fun," She added, surprising the others with her words.
Naturally, the others were confused as to what Gistella meant by that.
Liliya was the only one who voiced out her mind, "Is it really okay to leave the Emperor?"
"Yes," Gistella nodded. "In fact, he would be really annoyed if we joined and blocked his fun"
