The Girl Who Reincarnated as a Vampire Heiress

Chapter 233

Chloe was awakened by the ringing of her terminal.

She crawled out of bed irritably, her hand-held terminal still vibrating and ringing incessantly.

The young cub, freshly woken, looked quite fierce, with half of her sharp teeth exposed, exuding an inexplicable menace.

Chloe angrily pressed the answer button on the terminal's light screen, and was immediately greeted by Ren Yunying's familiar and stern face.

Ren Yunying: "Who are you making that sour face for?"

Chloe: "..."

Her face contorted for a moment, going through several transformations before finally settling into what could only be described as a fawning smile.

Chloe exclaimed in surprise: "If it isn't our dear Instructor Ren! How come you have time to call me?"

"I've missed you so much!"

Ren Yunying closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

Chloe could clearly see Ren Yunying's eyeballs rolling beneath her closed eyelids.

Chloe: "..."

There was no need to be so obvious. Was she rolling her eyes like that just to make sure Chloe would notice?

Nevertheless, Chloe maintained her smile: "What did you want to say, Instructor Ren? Please continue."

Ren Yunying barely managed to calm her emotions and looked at Chloe with a complex expression.

She needed to stay calm. For some reason, just seeing Chloe's face made Ren Yunying's heart ache - with anger.

Ren Yunying: "The family visit days are almost over. When are you returning to the Military Academy?"

Hearing this, Chloe instinctively raised her terminal to check the date.

Indeed, there were only five days left of carefree enjoyment outside.

In five days, they would have to return to the Military Academy and start their grueling training life.

Why... why did time pass so quickly!

Chloe composed herself and slowly counted on her fingers:

"It should be in about three days. We'll return to the Military Academy in three days."

Ren Yunying snorted: "You'd better. When you get back to the Military Academy, you'll have a pile of tasks waiting. Don't think about relaxing."

Thinking of Ren Yunying's methods, Chloe felt a fleeting pain in her head: "I know, I know."

"But there's one more thing I need to tell dear Ms. Ren."

Ren Yunying's brow flashed with wariness: "What do you want to say?"

As she spoke, she took a step back.

Chloe remained silent for a moment.

There was no need to be so cautious. Was she really that untrustworthy?

Chloe closed her eyes briefly and told Ren Yunying about everything she had experienced these past few days.

After the stream of words, Ren Yunying's lips parted slightly, her expression a mix of surprise and anger.

After a long while, she gripped the whip at her waist: "Is this how Xavier protected you?!"

Chloe blinked: "It's not like that. Xavier tried his best."

After all, no one expected the Werewolf Race to dare invade Vampire territory to carry out a kidnapping.

It could be said that it was unexpected and caught everyone off guard.

Chloe reassured her: "Don't worry, I'm fine now, aren't I? No major issues."

"Huh." Ren Yunying sneered, then said seriously, "Come back to school as soon as possible. I don't trust your father's skills. When you get to the Military Academy, I'll examine you again and prescribe a separate set of medicines."

As soon as she heard this, Chloe felt a sense of suffocation.

One set of medicine here, another set there - she, Chloe, was turning into a medicine cabinet. How could this be!

This absolutely cannot happen.

Chloe laughed it off: "That's really not necessary. On my end..."

"It is necessary," Ren Yunying said, her eyes sharp. "You're a promising talent that the Military Academy is focusing on cultivating. We can't let anything happen to you."

Drowsiness and nightmares might not seem like major problems in daily life, but on the battlefield, they could be fatal flaws.

Ren Yunying couldn't accept such vulnerabilities in a student she had always valued highly.

"There won't be any problems, don't worry."

Chloe, of course, knew there wouldn't be any issues. If nothing else, The No.1 Military Academy was wealthy.

With money and power, if they truly wanted to completely heal a student, their effectiveness would be on par with the Vampire Royal Family.

"Alright then."

She chatted casually with Ren Yunying for a few more minutes before ending the call.

...Time to prepare to return to the Military Academy.

Just thinking about it gave Chloe a headache.

She tiredly crawled out of bed, spotted the water glass on the nightstand, and grabbed it for a drink.

As soon as she went downstairs, she saw Qin Huaibei and the others having afternoon tea in the living room.

Looking at the time, it was already three in the afternoon.

Chloe walked over to them yawning, picked up a small cake to eat, and after scanning the room, asked:

"Where's Anderson?"

Daniel wiped the cookie crumbs from his lips with a napkin: "I saw him leave a few hours ago. I think he said he was going to Francis Manor."

"A few hours ago?" Chloe asked.

Katherine elaborated: "He left soon after you fell asleep."

In such a hurry?

Chloe slowly ate her small cake and asked again: "What's he doing at Francis Manor?"

"Don't know."

They were quite familiar with Anderson by now, but he had been in such a rush at the time that none of them dared to ask.

After he left, they didn't think much of it.

But the more Chloe thought about it, the more uneasy she felt.

Francis Manor always gave her a strange, ominous feeling.

Logically, Chloe shouldn't be this worried, but for some reason, she now felt an inexplicable sense of dread, her heart skipping a beat.

A subtle intuition.

It never hurts to be cautious.

Chloe quickly stuffed the rest of the cake into her mouth, grabbed her jacket from the back of the chair, and headed for the door.

This sudden action successfully confused the other three.

Daniel was the first to stand up: "Hey, where are you going?"

"To find someone," Chloe replied from a distance.

Hearing this, Daniel and Qin Huaibei exchanged a glance, then both looked at Katherine.

A few seconds later, the three decisively stood up and followed Chloe.

Chloe was walking fast, but she stopped just before reaching the main gate of the manor.

Katherine almost bumped into her from behind.

Qin Huaibei: "Why did you suddenly stop?"

Chloe looked up at the gate's lintel, pondered for a moment, and then softly called out:

"Kewen."

As soon as she spoke, a series of faint sounds came from nearby.

A dark shadow flashed by, accompanied by a tinkling sound. Kewen appeared before everyone in an instant, clutching a beer bottle.

A faint blush of intoxication still lingered on his cheeks. Upon seeing Chloe, he smiled lazily and asked:

"What can I do for you, young miss?"

Chloe cursed at him, calling him a drunk, then said:

"Tell Xavier that I'm going to Duke Francis's manor. If I'm not back in half an hour, gather people immediately to come find me."

Hearing this, Kewen's carefree demeanor vanished:

"As you command."
