The Dungeon Conquerors: Journey to the Peak

Chapter 321 Ch 324: Treasure Hunt Completed

From the information that Lopas had managed to find, Rein came to know that just two years after Jakery ran away, both his father and mother were killed by a group nobles who were extremely angry with the magic hating cult. According to them, this cult was slowing dowm the growth of their nation and so they performed a manhunt for any and all members of the cult.

The people without magic were extremely weak at the end of the day even if some of them had a lot of money. So in a very short amount of time, the nobles managed to find and kill almost all the members of the cult and Jakery's parents were included in the list.

Fortunately the two elder siblings that Jakery had were not killed and instead were sent to an orphanage. Not much information was available about them after that. From some of the sources, Lopas guessed that one of the brothers had left the city after growing up but the information about the other brother was unknown.

Even though the whole information had some missing pieces, Rein was fine with it. He had already learn enough about Jakery to confidently start working on the book again. So next he told Lopas about his findings and made the plan to venture out of the city as soon as possible for the hidden treasures.

...

After the discussion was over, Rein and Luna went to the library to continue their searching and Lopas stayed with the noble to continue her mission. Even though she had no more need to visit the library, this library still had quite a few good books that Lopas was interested in checking out. Then she could tell Luna about them who would definitely be happy about learning them.

As now Rein and Luna both were working in the library, they decided to take an even slower approach. With Rein here, their efficiency was off the charts and as Lopas needed to stay in the noble's house for quite a few days, finishing the task early had no value. So both of them were in no hurry and took a very slow and steady approach.

...

Even though Rein and Luna took a slow approach and they were spending a lot of time reading the books that they had found interesting, still their pace of searching was quite fast. As both of them were extremely fast readers and there were not many books that attracted their attention, the search was still happening in a fast pace.

Most probably because of that reason, on the early of the third day of their searching, Luna finally found the book they were looking for. This book was written by a magus when that magus was young and one of the teachers of the academy needed this for his research. That was the reason why this was an urgent mission.

But as they were not done checking all the books of the library, they still did not return and continued reading books. But they decided to not come back from the next day onwards as their mission here was done. The librarian was very impressed by how studious both Rein and Luna were so he was more than happy to welcomed them again if they wanted to visit the library.

But Rein and Luna were somewhat satisfied with the library already, so they decided to spend their last day in the city by walking around it together. So it was a date. Lopas would also be done with her work the next day, so then they could leave the city to search for the treasure.

...

The date was extremely fun for Luna and she happily asked Rein to do this kind of things often. Rein agreed and was also making plans to take Lopas out on one or else she would feel left out. But that was something he needed to do in the future, as in the present, he had a treasure to find.

After meeting with Lopas in the city lord's house, Rein did not waste any time and immediately left the city. Some of the nobles who were participated in the bonding session with Lopas wanted to meet Rein but Rein was in a hurry so he was unable to meet with them. He was not really interested in this kind of things either so he did not mind that one bit.

After leaving the city, they started to fly toward the destination mentioned in the book with their full speed. Rein was happy that the author of the book did not just write a riddle and instead mentioned the location clearly. According to him, the treasure was hidden inside a secret cave that was hidden behind a waterfall. As the author was not actually a mage, he was unable to use magic power. For that reason, the box in which the treasures were kept was just a sturdy box with no magical capability whatsoever.

This was one of the reasons why Rein was not confident that the treasure was still there. Yes, the waterfall was located in a remote location where not many people came and yes the cave was extremely well hidden behind it. But still coincidences happened regularly and Rein would not be surprised if in the long time when the treasure was hidden here, someone had managed to come accross the hidden cave by coincidence and had managed to find the treasure chest.

Letor's grandfather had also found this place by complete coincidence, so if the same thing happened again, that would not surprise Rein. So with not much hope, he entered the cave located behind the waterfall.

Fortunately for Rein, from the very first look, it was clear that no one had entered the cave in years. The depths of the cave was filled with various matters which had remained undisturbed for years. This was a good sign and with a little bit of help from his two sweet lovers, he managed to find the location where the chest was suppose to be.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Actually that area should have a hole but after many years, the hole was not there anymore. So without seeing any other way, Rein started digging. Lopas and Luna also helped him out.

Obviously they were not digging like regular labourers and instead were using magic. So the whole process was very smooth and fast. Then after about five minutes of careful digging, Rein sensed that a metalic object was under the ground and he immediately slowed down as to not destroy the box and the contents inside.

Very soon, he was able to retrieve the box from the ground and the two ladies came to see it excitedly. The chest was quite large and Rein felt that it had more things than just what was mentioned. But they could only know that after opening the chest as even though this chest was not a magical item, their senses were not able to see through it.

So with a heart full of anticipation, they opened the chest.

So what amazing things would be inside it ?
