Systemless in a Parallel World

Chapter 141 Isn't It Funny?

With Tera, the dark green Human Spirit, that was 1.6 meters tall, it was no problem to gain a huge advantage over the remaining Blessed.

Most Blessed could only use their strongest moves once or twice before their energy would be drained. Using weaker versions of their strongest moves allowed them to fight a little longer.

However, facing Spirits that were not only in possession of infinite Stamina but also the wild instincts and combat experiences of their past, it was increasingly difficult to land a good blow.

Tank, Mocawl, and Herculean had been the biggest problem when the battle had begun. Most Soul Squires had been confident in their ability to pierce through their defenses. These Blessed had used their strongest moves almost instantly in an attempt to change the tide of the battle early on.

Unfortunately, these Blessed didn't realize how high the endurance of Tank's Spirit Armor and the two sets of Shrilariat Heavy Armor was. This didn't add the defensive power of the Aegis Shield, or the fact that Herculean, Mocalw and Tank wouldn't halt in their tracks to allow the Soul Squires to attack them with the full power of their blessing.

Adding to that, the Spirits were stronger than most Soul Squire Adventurers and Mercenaries, in the first place. They were equipped with powerful Artifacts that increased their power tremendously.

And, as if that was not enough, the Blessed had to pay attention not to hurt their own allies while unleashing their Blessings.

That was how most Blessed ended up wasting their energy needlessly. Their soul particles were quickly drained and they ended up on the losing side before they even knew. The Soul Knights were doing better, but not that much.

Even their attacks weren't strong enough to pose lethal threats to the Spirits. Saber and Agile moved rapidly, seeking protection by using other Blessed as their meat shields. They merged with the masses and wreaked havoc there from the beginning of the battle.

Glutton was too far away to attack with anything but long-range attacks. However, the Gluttony Termite Queen Spirit was not something anyone could pay too much attention to. After all, too many powerful Spirits had made it through the defensive lines.

Thus, the moment Tera wielded the black stuff it had wielded when it was still human, everything changed.

The Magician-type Blessed had been one of the few Soul Knights with an Artifact. The artifact enhanced the casting speed of Earth Elemental Spells and it decreased the consumption of soul particles for every Earth Elemental Spell as well.

That was quite exceptional, and everything Tera needed to turn the following five minutes into a living hell for the remaining survivors of the battle.

Tera had been a Blessed with a single type of elemental attribute. That was the blessing he had received, the control of the surrounding earth, to alter it, and even to transform it.

Zayn was pretty sure that Tera's Earth Element affinity was pretty powerful. It may not be enough to allow the Spirit to manifest Golemns manifested out of the surrounding earth but that was not what he wanted, in the first place.

Tera was currently only a Soul Squire with close to 70% of its second Soulring filled. That was not enough to unleash the former combat prowess of the Blessed.

However, it was enough to create small traps, such as creating small pits the size of the Blessed's feet. Tera controlled the earth in the surrounding precisely, creating dozens of those traps, forcing the Blessed to stumble and fall.

In the aftermath of this dirty trap, the Blessed were either bulldozed by Tank, cut in half by Berserk, or their life reaped by a quick slice through Zayn's Dragontale Twin Sabers.

Slowly as the battle neared its end, none of the Spirits had much energy left. Zayn only had to kill a few dozen severely Blessed that were already on the verge of death.

He retrieved the Spirits and allowed them to rest in the Grimoire of the Ancient. Only Glutton, Saber, and the Sparrow Spirits were outside.

The Sparrow Spirits seemed to have found Manager Tilan, and it was not much later that Zayn saw Saber dragging a bloodied man with tens, if not hundreds of deep cuts over the ground.

Even if that person didn't look anything alike to the bright Manager he had been not too long ago, Zayn immediately knew that the bloodied figure was Tilan.

Saber clawed Manager Tilan's body over and over again, ignoring the puddle of blood that formed on the ground. The rage of the Blazing Sabretooth Tiger Spirit was apparent, but that was something Zayn could understand pretty well.

Manager Tilan was the Soul Knight who had captured Saber with the help of two other Soul Knights. It took three Soul Kngihts to capture the Blazing Sabertooth Tiger when it had been at its peak. Thus, it was no problem for Saber to capture Manager Tilan, who was a Soul Knight but much weaker than he had been before.

Manager Tilan had retired to create the gambling business in the Colosseum. He hadn't fought, for several years. Meanwhile, Saber had regained its instincts and finesse upon being manifested as Spirit.

To Saber, it felt like it had been reincarnated, which was actually not too far from the truth.

Capturing Manager Tilan was not too difficult. Saber didn't have much energy left, however, that was not something they had to worry about.

After all, the battle was over, and Manager Tilan had lost.

"I doubt that you ever imagined ending like this," Zayn said calmly as he pierced the Dragontale Twin Saber in the back of a dying Soul Knight.

He twisted the blade, felt the final twitch of the Soul Knight, and retracted the saber a moment later.

"Isn't it funny?" He asked Manager Tilan while squatting down to the ground.

Zayn sheathed one of the Dragontale Twin Sabers and used his free hand to pull Manager Tilan's head up.

Tilan should see the face of the person who was about to end his life!

"W-whâ€"what?"
