Systemless in a Parallel World

Chapter 139 Soul Knight Spirit

Unfortunately, he couldn't be more wrong

It was far from easy to fight against a group of 400 Blessed. Most of them were either seasoned Adventurers, Mercenaries, or retired Adventurers as well.

They might have been astonished, maybe even shocked when the fully armed Spirits emerged around Zayn, but it didn't even require a full minute before they had regained their composure.

In that minute, close to 150 Blessed had either been killed, or severely injured to an extent that they couldn't continue fighting, but most of them had been on the weaker side. Only twenty of them had been Soul Knights, and none of them had died until now.

They were merely severely injured, trying their utmost to keep going. The Soul Knights were not ready to die, and that was something they showed quite openly.

The Blessings of several hundred Blessed had been unleashed at the same time. Under normal circumstances, that was quite a rare sight, something that was worth being looked at with admiration.

Unfortunately, the Blessings targeted Zayn and his Spirits.

'Good thing that they cannot use long-range attacks, or large-scale destructive Spells, otherwise, I would be doomed,' Zayn thought as he cut down an Adventurer who had grown in size. Fur had grown out of the armor the Blessed wore and a tail had jut out of his tailbone.

Zayn grasped the Blessed's Soul Wisp, and devoured the ownerless soul particles before he continued his attack.

He and his Spirits were in the midst of the Blessed, preventing them from attacking with most of their Blessings. Releasing fireballs or other long-range attacks might hit their comrades, killing them in the process.

That was something they wanted to avoid. Zayn was being surrounded and attacked from all sides, or that was the initial plan of the Blessed. They didn't realize that a flamethrowing Sabertooth Tiger had appeared next to them, setting the Blessed on fire.

Zayn moved quickly, exerting the Double Saber Kalivan technique, killing three more Blessed. He absorbed their ownerless Soul Particles once again while initiating an evasion maneuver to make sure that his body remained unscathed, void of any bloody holes.

Zayn had a target in mind and he charged over to an old, retired Blessed. The retired Adventurer was at the Peak of the Soul Knight rank. Zayn was not exactly sure why the retired Adventurer attacked him, but he guessed that even retired Adventurers had their own reasoning.

At the end of the day, it didn't really matter. The retired Adventurer was already weakened from the constant attacks of Agile, but he wa still alive and holding his forte.

However, when Zayn appeared next to Agile, who jumped forward in a suicidal attempt to deliver a lethal blow to the retired Adventurer, the old man's fate was sealed.

The Dragontale Twin Sabers moved rapidly. They left behind beautiful azure-blue afterimages before the sky was dyed in warm blood. A flowery pattern of blood formed as the retired Adventurer collapsed lifelessly on the ground.

Zayn was attacked from behind, but he didn't mind that. Herculean appeared behind him, rising the Aegis Shield high into the air, manifesting the Astral Shield in front of them.

The Astral Shield was the materialization of a white shield with the capacity to block three blocks of a Soul Lord. That was the power of the Aegis Shield's trait when activated with the lowest requirement.

More than six blades and elemental attacks impacted hard, but Herculean blocked them easily. Zayn merely smiled in response as he did something slightly reckless.

He manifested another Human Spirit!

The retired Adventurer was a powerful Blessed and he had been close to the Soul Lord rank. The ownerless soul particles of the retired Adventurer's Soul Wisp were more than enough to give birth to a Soul Knight Spirit. That was what Zayn was trying to achieve in the following seconds.

He used the memories of his past life to the fullest in order to extract the Soul Essence of the retired Adventurer with the Soul Extraction technique. This drained a considerable amount of his soul particles, but he had already absorbed the ownerless soul particles of more than three dozen Blessed, so that was less of a problem.

The Spirit Manifestation took a little longer, six seconds to be precise.

When the Spirit of the retired Adventurer was fully formed, the Astral Shield trait of the Aegis Shield Artifact burst. Herculean didn't have enough energy to re-activate the Astral Shield because it was not yet a Soul Knight. However, that was not necessary in the first place.

Zayn retrieved the Dao Saber with a vibrant smile on his face as he threw it over to the 1.8-meter-tall Spirit that had formed, azure blue in color, with the power of a full-blown Soul Knight. The biggest point to take note of, however, was that the Soul Knight Spirit couldn't be killed.

It didn't have to pay attention to the injuries it would sustain.

"God for it, Berserk!" Zayn shouted out loud, slapping the back of the Spirit whose muscles rippled before it shot past Herculean in an instant.

The Dao Saber sliced through the opponents in front of them, killing nearly all of them at once.

Gusts of wind mantled the Dao Saber and a strong wind pushed into Berserk's back, pushing him further ahead, accelerating his already high speed even further

Zayn had slight issues controlling Berserk, the Soul Knight Human Spirit with Superior talent, but that was something he could solve easily.

He just had to absorb more soul particles, just kill more opponents.

Obliterate them all.

Devour everyone without any mercy.

Take everything!

Zayn was slowly getting excited watching his Spirits. He licked his lip in utter excitement and rushed forward.

If there would be another interesting Blessed, he would extract his Soul Essence and awaken his Spirit.

However, before bothering about that, it was time to slaughter, to kill them all.

"Where the hell are you, Tilan? Come here, and die at my hands, you sly bastard!!"
