Systemless in a Parallel World

Chapter 113 Saber

Manifesting the Blazing Sabertooth Tiger was not as easy as Zayn hoped it would be.

Extracting the Soul Essence of the monster from the Soul Wisp drained most of his soul particles. But even with his soul particles drained, the Soul Essence was not as calm or obeying Zayn's will as the other Soul Essences.

That was a slight surprise, but it was not something that he had never faced before. Though he had never encountered a rampaging Soul Essence since he came to this world, the memories of his past were still pretty clear when it came to something related to the Soul Extraction and Spirit Manifestation techniques.

He knew that some Soul Essences would be a little bit more violent than others. The Spirits manifested from those Essences were harder to control, but that was because they were stronger than ordinary beings. They were trying to fight against their fate and face their perpetrators head-on, desiring to tear them apart.

Zayn liked this, which is why he immediately used the remaining ownerless soul particles of the Soul Wisp to manifest the Spirit.

The Blazing Sabertooth Tiger's appearance didn't change much. It was still a Tiger, close to 1.5 meters in height with proportionally longer front legs and a muscular build. Its upper canine teeth were still long, flat, and dagger-like, but all of that was something Zayn had expected.

It was not as if the appearance of his Spirits deviated a lot from the appearance of their physical body, their mortal vessel. Forming slowly but steadily, Zayn's seventh Spirit came into existence.

The Blazing Sabertooth Tiger did not have scarlet-red, bronze fur anymore. The Spirit's semi-translucent color was of a light-green shade with darker green spots scattered all over the Spirit's body.

"Your talent is better than Agile's. Not bad, not bad at all!" Zayn exclaimed, his eyes shining as the Spirit turned over to him.

The Blazing Sabertooth Tiger clearly recalled that it had been resurrected from the man who had killed it. It roared out, filled with anger and frustration. However, the anger was not only directed at him.

On the contrary, it was mostly directed at the world itself. Zayn could clearly feel the wrath that was slowly surging through the Spirit. It wanted revenge, and to tear apart everyone responsible for its imprisonment of ten years.

"Calm down a little, Saber," Zayn tried to pacify it, naming the Spirit 'Saber' on a whim. He looked at the Spirit and squinted his eyes as he tried to analyze how strong Saber was right now. Not long after, he acknowledged that Saber was definitely an apex predator.

Saber felt a little different from earlier when they fought in the Colosseum. Right now, Saber had one Soulring without any additional soul particles within its Spirit form. The ownerless soul particles of its Soul Wisp were barely enough to form a single Soulring. That was already pretty good even though it was not enough to allow Saber to regain its former strength.

But even if Saber was now weaker than before, Zayn felt that Saber was much deadlier than ever. He encountered the monster only once in the arena but he could clearly tell the difference between an imprisoned Tiger that had been turned into a circus attraction, and a wild predator.

Saber was the latter while the Blazing Sabertooth Tiger had been the former before it died at his hands.

"Saber, how about staying by my side?" Zayn proposed, his eyes glimmering faintly, "I cannot promise you anything, but it's not very unlikely that I will get into a big conflict with the Colosseum sooner or later. You might be able to get your revenge on those who deprived you of your freedom first."

Saber stared at him while it paced through the room. The entire room was not that large but it was enough for Saber to demonstrate its dominance and to attempt to intimidate Zayn. Unfortunately, Zayn was not that impressed. He knew that Saber would never be able to attack, let alone injure him.

That was not how it worked!

"However, if you agree to stay by my side, you will become one of my Spirits, officially. That means only I will be able to remove you, and I will be the one giving you orders which you have to heed, whether you want to or not.

This is the only chance I will give you. Make your choice. Become mine and hope that you will get your revenge, or disperse into nothingness with nothing but hatred in your heart!" Zayn spoke, raising his voice as his speech reached the climax.

There was actually no need for him to talk to Saber that way and appease him. He could just force Saber to follow him as he did with Mocalw, Glutton, Agile, and the Sparrow Spirits.

However, Zayn felt that it would benefit him more if Saber was on his side willingly. This feeling was something he rarely got. In fact, so far he had only asked Herculean if he wanted to stay by his side.

The Herculean Human Spirit rescued him from the Undead Caves when he collapsed. It tended to his wounds and protected him even without giving the Spirit any orders. Protecting Zayn on its own accord was something that not every Spirit would do, and he hoped that Saber could become a monster that could act on its own accord, without the need to give precise orders about every single task.

That way, things were bound to become much easier in the future.

Saber halted in its tracks while continuing to stare at him. The Spirit thought hard before it jumped onto the bed where it lay down, curling up and closing its eyes. It had to regain its strength and thus it began to absorb the soul particles in the surrounding.

"I take this as an 'I want to stay by your side, thanks for manifesting my Spirit!'." Zayn said while manifesting the Grimoire of the Ancient in front of him.

His other Spirits shouldn't slack off either.

Thus, Zayn summoned all of them on a whim.
