Chapter 268 - Oath (2)
The necromancer had no idea what Luke was planning by freezing a good part of the main building. While it stopped her mist, she also had time to create several dark bullets around her, and she was planning to make Luke explode with those. However, she felt some danger when Luke suddenly froze the exterior of the main building as well. That was five hundred meters long and three hundred wide, so a lot of mana was being used… a lot more than he was supposed to have, not to mention, it seemed like a waste since he could pretty much use that much mana on a much more compressed attack.
While she was wondering what the heck was going on, the necromancer felt the entire building tremble. The walls and ceiling began to crack, and she could tell that it was due to the ice made by Luke and Shalia. When she was about to attack Luke with dozens of those dark bullets, her entire fortress began to fall apart.
"What? How?" The necromancer asked while looking at the crystal behind her, completely intact.
She only realized what had happened when Luke was standing above the sphere of ice that he had created and locked her inside. The sphere began to fall, so it seemed that he was planning to crush her like that. While it was massive, the walls weren't that thick, so the necromancer began to bombard the ceiling to kill Luke. However, when the sphere of ice began to suffer some damage, Luke used Weapon Augmentation.
The sphere's speed while falling down suddenly increased, and then the necromancer lost her final chance to attack. Everything inside it began to collide against each other for a few moments, and then the remainings of the fortress and the sphere collided against each other and then against the ground below. Causing a massive impact and shockwave that made the whole area tremble while raising a massive dust cloud. The necromancer and her minions suffered a lot of damage, but Luke didn't receive any notification of her death.

"Your natural ability sure is powerful…" Nambra said while they were falling. "No wonder you can show power way beyond your level."
"Natural ability?" Luke frowned. "I just got this by a stroke of luck."
"The species that aren't born with the ability to wield mana, they always tend to obtain skills that suit them, at least when it comes to their first skill books," Nambra explained.
Luke looked at Shalia, and she just shrugged. She never heard of that… In any case, Nambra probably had some extra years of experience, so it was natural that she knew things a lot more than them. When Luke landed, he didn't have a hard time finding the necromancer. She was surrounded by the bones of her minions. She also was covered in her own blood… she had some potions on her hands, but with her current strength, she couldn't use those.
Using his ax seemed like an overkill and kind of a waste to destroy the body of such a beautiful woman. Still, she was an enemy and an overlord. Luke couldn't show mercy, but he wondered if he would avoid killing her if she had the same as Nambra. Regardless, Shalia made an ice spear, and Luke pierced her heart with it.

The necromancer didn't drop anything, and her cloak had been completely destroyed. Still, she had some rings, and they looked pretty valuable since they seemed to be made of a material that was similar to amethyst.
Dark Ring of the Sorcerer
It restores five points of your mana for each defeated enemy.
FOC + 50
She had six of those, and adding with their effects, Luke had no reason not to use them. It seemed the best item he could have obtained since he was planning to stop increasing his focus for a while. It was a bit weird to wear so many flashy rings, but Luke wanted them for their usefulness, not for fashion purposes.
"With your help, I defeated her, so you are to go," Luke said. "We are even now."
"I would like to keep helping you until I earn your trust," Nambra said.
"Saying that kind of thing only puts me more on guard…" Luke said.
"I am trying to be sincere and honest, that is the only way I know to prove that I am not an enemy," Nambra added. "If you need something else, I can chop my limbs."
"... It seems that there is a gap between what you consider worrisome and what I consider," Luke furrowed his eyebrows. "I get it, you want to keep your species to grow again, but you won't get that help from me. I don't want to become someone else's tool for reproduction. Besides… I want to be a real father if someday I have the chance to raise children."
"Aww, that is so sweet, Luke," Shalia said and then laughed a little.
"You be quiet for a moment," Luke said and then sighed. "You probably can find someone more suitable and who wouldn't mind becoming your toy or something."
"It has to be you," Nambra said. "My descendants need to be strong and with your natural ability, they will be able to protect themselves."
"Natural ability… do you mean that my kids will also have Weapon Augmentation?" Luke frowned.
"They are bound to have the strongest traits of both parents," Nambra replied. "In some cases and magic worlds, kids are born with all the power of their parents."
Luke looked at Shalia, and she just shrugged.. It didn't seem like she had heard of many dark elves being born lately… but then there was that thing of that overlord that tried to capture Rina.
