Chapter 182: Chapter 0173: Zhang Lin Goes Berserk_2

“Little Five, stop him.” Li Shan instructed Little Five.

Little Five quickly followed after him. As Zhang Lin walked briskly ahead, he kept in pursuit.

“Zhang Lin, what are you trying to do? Calm down, the hospital and police will handle this matter!” Little Five grabbed Zhang Lin’s hand.

Zhang Lin shook him off with great force. Little Five couldn’t control him at all and could only follow him. He tried several times to rush forward and hold him back, but Zhang Lin was walking too fast.

At the Pediatrics Teaching Room, two security guards were posted at the entrance. Inside the meeting room, Officer Wang, Dean Sun, Director Zhao of the medical department, and Director Ma of Pediatrics were all present. Two people were seated opposite each other at the table, with two auxiliary police officers standing behind. From their expressions, it was clear that the infuriated man sitting inside was the family member who had assaulted someone – the father of the child. He was in his thirties, large and imposing, at least 1.8 meters tall. A family member accompanied him, but it wasn’t clear if he was a friend, colleague, or relative.

The man’s voice was loud. When Officer Wang questioned him, he was somewhat uncooperative and constantly on the phone, seemingly calling on others for help, even shouting for a lawyer.

“Sorry, I’ll be answering your questions once my lawyer is here.” The man was very arrogant.

Officer Wang attempted to question him several times, only to be interrupted by this reason. The man seemed to be waiting for something without any urgency, appearing unperturbed by the assault.

Zhang Lin peered inside, showing no intention of entering. Instead, he pointed at the family member and asked, “So that’s the guy who assaulted someone, right?”

One of the older security guards recognized Zhang Lin and, thinking that he was only inquiring, nodded confirmation; “The man sitting opposite Officer Wang, on the inside… Yes, that’s him.”

Zhang Lin snorted and suddenly charged in. The security guards tried to stop him, but his rage combined with his height of 1.78 meters and his belly full of energy made it impossible for anyone to hold him back.

All the security guards were pushed aside as he barged in. The room briefly fell silent as everyone was caught off guard. Officer Wang and the auxiliary police officers sensed something was amiss and attempted to stop him, but it was too late.

“Son of a bitch!”

Zhang Lin lunged at the man, holding onto his hair and slapping him sharply across the face several times. He showed no mercy, and blood began to flow from the man’s nose and the corner of his mouth.

The attending family member finally reacted, rushing forward to help, only to be stopped by Little Five. Little Five shouted, “Calm down! Talk things out calmly!”

Several hard slaps had left the man dazed. Almost simultaneously with the slaps, Zhang Lin raised a foot and kicked Fiercely. One of the auxiliary police officers caught hold of him, only to be shrugged off.

The kick landed at the intersection of the chest and abdomen, hurling the man off his chair and onto the ground. The room was spacious, and Zhang Lin was about to charge forward again, eager to stomp on him a few more times.

He only managed to get in one kick, which landed on the patient’s thigh, before the two auxiliary police officers restrained Zhang Lin. Officer Wang had been delayed by the need to maneuver around the table. He positioned himself in between the two men, trying to prevent any further contact, “What are you doing? Don’t you have any respect for the law?”

“In broad daylight, assaulting a female doctor, isn’t that disrespect for the law?” Zhang Lin roared back, his voice loud enough to shake the dust off the walls.

The man pressed his stomach, grimacing in pain as he spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva. He tried to get up from the ground but failed. Despite his struggle, he was still defiant, “Do you have any idea who I am, don’t you want to live?”

“I don’t care who the fuck you are, I hit you!” Zhang Lin charged again, but was firmly held back by the auxiliary police officers.

After several attempts, the man on the ground finally managed to stand up. He was in obvious pain. After catching his breath, he tried to charge at Zhang Lin but was stopped by Officer Wang and the security guards. He glared at Zhang Lin, pointing at him.

“Think you’re tough? Even tough guys have to die, believe it or not?” Zhang Lin growled through clenched teeth, his eyes terrifying like a raging bull.

The man winced involuntarily and took a step back, his hand lowering immediately.

“Cuff them all and bring them to the police station!” Officer Wang commanded.

“This is chaos, absolute chaos!” Dean Sun sighed.

“Who is this person? Who is he?” Director Zhao of the medical department pointed at Zhang Lin, angrily.

Little Five answered, “The victim’s family member.”

The family member who had tried to help earlier had attempted to charge several times but was stopped by Little Five each time. Frustrated, he squared off with Little Five, and just as the two were about to engage in a physical confrontation, the security guards promptly intervened to separate them. Despite this, both continued to exchange heated words, showing no signs of backing down.

After the fight, Zhang Lin stretched out his hands, “Detain me! If I get detained, he should be detained too. If I get sentenced, he should also be sentenced. Otherwise, this matter isn’t over—assaulting someone and thinking you can get away with it that easily? No matter who you are, even if you’re the son of God, I’ll teach you a lesson, got it?”

Officer Wang was taken aback, “Cuff them, cuff them all! Take them to the police station, administrative detention!”

Little Five and the other family member were still glaring and cursing at each other, but they hadn’t started fighting yet as they were constantly separated by the security guards.

Director Han, Yang Ping, and Song Zimo had all rushed over. The Pediatrics Teaching Room was in uproar, it was complete chaos. The noise was so loud that the doctors, nurses, and patients all came over, only to be turned away by the security guards. Yet, many people were not satisfied and continued trying to catch a glimpse of what was going on inside. A woman hugging a child and her husband carrying an IV pole made up a group of them that seemed unphased. They occasionally edged towards the room’s entrance to try and peek inside, undeterred despite being chased away several times by the security guards.

Zhang Lin and the patient’s family member were then taken out of the Teaching Room by the police.

“What happened?” Director Han asked Director Zhao.

Old Zhao gave him a meaningful look: “I’ll tell you later.”

“Chaos, absolute chaos. The two family members just started a brawl in there.” Director Zhao said, shaking his head.

“What do you mean brawl, he clearly…” the assaulted family member mumbled bitterly, but stopped when he received a stern look from Zhang Lin.

He didn’t dare to curse anymore and instinctively ducked his head.

“Old Han, you guys should go back first. I’ll explain everything to you later, it’s a whole mess now.” Dean Sun followed the police. He and Director Zhao still needed to go to the police station for further handling of the matter.

Yang Ping and Song Zimo watched as Zhang Lin was escorted away by the police. Given the situation, it wasn’t appropriate to greet him. But Zhang Lin seemed determined, appearing carefree as if he had no regrets at all.

After everyone had left, Director Ma of Pediatrics rubbed his bald spot, still in a state of shock, “Things have gotten out of hand, big trouble.”

“When a patient’s family assaults a doctor, no one cares. But when a doctor fights back, it stirs up a lot of interest.” Director Ma felt helpless, things had spiraled out of control.

“It wasn’t a doctor, it was the victim’s family member!” Director Han corrected.

Director Ma realized his mistake and quickly corrected himself, “Right, right, the victim’s family member!”

“That damn rabbit!” Director Han cursed.

Then, looking at Yang Ping and the others, he said, “Let’s go back to Orthopedics.”
