91 Chapter 70: A Mysterious Peak Emerges_2
The yacht that had exploded began to take on water even faster and, within just over ten seconds, had completely sunk to the seabed, vanishing from sight. The diesel fuel leaking on the sea surface continued to burn, illuminating the remaining debris from the yacht.
Yan Fei's drone launched a fierce naval cannon attack, wiping out most of the enemies onboard the yacht and their rendezvous vessel with just one encounter, avenging the drone which had been dismembered by the enemy's laser weapon.
After sinking the yacht, Yan Fei utilized the quantum radar for scanning and then discovered several enemies that had slipped through the net floating in the seawater. The drone stealthily approached them and used its large caliber naval gun to kill them mercilessly.
Finally, Yan Fei noticed one last fugitive swiftly swimming towards Shanghai. That fugitive was none other than Kazuteru Oogawaa from the Oogawa Family who had orchestrated the operation and had jumped into the sea early.
The drone quickly caught up and fired several cannon rounds, but to its surprise, Kazuteru Oogawa, an exceptional swimmer, anticipated the naval cannon's trajectory in advance. He dodged the shots in the water with the agility of a fish, narrowly evading the assault. It was clear that Kazuteru Oogawa was a true expert; otherwise, the Oogawa Family would not have entrusted him with such an important mission.
The drone launched another naval cannon assault, and Kazuteru Oogawa, while swiftly swimming towards Shanghai, continued to observe the trajectory of the underwater cannon shots and once again evaded the attack.
Having missed twice in a row, Yan Fei's drone was utterly astonished. Although the naval cannon's speed and attack range were greatly reduced underwater, and its power was not half of what it was in the air, it remained incredibly deadly. Most people wouldn't even be able to spot the trajectory of the bullets, let alone avoid them.
Yet, Kazuteru Oogawa managed it twice. Could he be a monster? It was deep into the night, and beneath the surface, darkness engulfed everything, rendering even the drone's vision limited. How then could Kazuteru Oogawa detect and evade the bullets aimed at him twice?
At this thought, Yan Fei secretly felt fortunate. He was glad that his drone had cornered Kazuteru Oogawa here, trapping him in the sea. If he had made it to land and used the city's buildings for cover, the drone would have had to expend a significant amount of ammunition to kill him.
Though surprised, Yan Fei was not worried. Even with his remarkable skills, Kazuteru Oogawa would not be able to completely avoid the drone's attack in the sea. The previous missed shots were due to carelessness. Thus, with the quantum radar locked onto his target, the drone began firing forward, releasing a dense barrage of cannon rounds that sealed off all of Kazuteru Oogawa's possible escape directions.
Kazuteru Oogawa, realizing his predicament, stopped moving forward and began diving into the deep sea, once again avoiding Yan Fei's naval cannon attack.
Yan Fei sneered. If Kazuteru Oogawa had been at the surface, it might have been tolerable, but once in the deep sea, it was as good as losing his ability to resist. So, Yan Fei locked onto Kazuteru Oogawa again and let loose a barrage of cannon rounds. After reaching the seabed, the increased pressure of the seawater greatly slowed Kazuteru Oogawa's actions, making it impossible for him to dodge the bullets. Despite his desperate attempts to evade, his body was hit by a cannon round.
Kazuteru Oogawa's body shook, and a burst of blood bloomed; his speed slowed even further. The drone's gun barrel rotated again, and a string of bullets were fired, all striking Kazuteru Oogawa's body. His body was torn apart and he died instantly. As his mangled corpse slowly sank, there was no further movement. This formidable expert had died a stifled death in the vast sea without anyone witnessing his full potential.
It was only then that Yan Fei breathed a sigh of relief, his dealings with the Oogawa Family's assault finally resolved, ensuring his and Lu Pingping's safety.
Yan Fei was not one to forgive and forget easily. Having nearly been abducted by the aggressors and his drone dismembered by their laser weapon, he bore no goodwill towards Japan, and even less so towards the Oogawa Family who were directly responsible, imbuing within him a murderous intent. He had decided that once his body fully recovered, he would head to Japan to teach the Oogawa Family a lesson they would never forget.
Of course, Wangde Food and the masterminds behind this incident, Ryoko Oogawa and Jo Oogawa, would also pay a price. In Yan Fei's possession were video evidences of their plan to undermine his company. These videos were certainly meant to be uploaded to the internet, intending to ruin Wangde Food's reputation. As for Ryoko Oogawa and Jo Oogawa, he would personally ensure they met their end.
When Yan Fei opened his auxiliary brain, he discovered the Merit Points he had earned from this attack: carrying out a naval cannon attack in the sea off Shanghai, killing 11 people, earning 11 Merit Points; launching a naval cannon attack, sinking one yacht, earning 50 Merit points; altogether from this sortie, he earned 61 Merit Points. In total, he had accumulated 1850 Merit Points. Although the points gained this time were few, a mosquito's leg is still flesh, and his drone was one step closer to an upgrade.
Just as Yan Fei was feeling increasingly better because he had wiped out a kidnap squad of the Oogawa Family, causing his Drone Merit Points to rise once again, the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Dream Technology headquarters office suddenly exploded, sending glass debris flying everywhere.
Yan Fei was startled and used the last of his strength to pull Lu Pingping behind him for protection, only for his own back to be slashed by the flying glass, drenching him in blood. Then, Yan Fei saw a burly man clad in black standing in front of the shattered window.
Yan Fei was shocked and immediately called out, "Captain Wang!"
The man in black spoke in broken Chinese, "Yan Fei, there's no use calling out, I have already taken down your security. But don't worry, they're not harmed. My purpose today is only you and Lu Pingping behind you."
A chill settled in Yan Fei's heart as he suddenly realized that there was a significant oversight in his strategy from what this man in black had said. The question was, how many groups did the Oogawa Family send to carry out the kidnapping?
Yan Fei had previously thought that the Oogawa Family had only dispatched people to infiltrate Shanghai by sea, so he had stationed the Drones over the ocean. Now, it seemed that the group led by Kazuteru Oogawa, who snuck into Shanghai from sea, was just one part of the Oogawa Family's forces. They might not even be the main kidnap squad; their task could very well be to escort the others safely out of China once the kidnapping was successful, as evidenced by the Red Dragon still lurking submerged just off the coast of Shanghai.
The real executor of the kidnapping plan sent by the Oogawa Family might well be this man in black. Initially indiscernible in nationality, his broken Chinese and the hint of a Japanese accent suggested that he was probably the true executor of this operation for the Oogawa Family.
This man in black stood there, exuding a strong sense of oppression over Yan Fei. With his current insight, Yan Fei could tell at a glance that this man was terrifyingly powerful, far exceeding the blonde woman he had encountered in Africa.
As a result of the backlash from the dismemberment of his Drone Avatar, Yan Fei had utterly lost his combat power and still hadn't recovered even a tiny bit of it. In other words, Yan Fei was now at his weakest in terms of combat power in his entire life, unable to beat even an ordinary person, let alone confront this incredibly powerful man in black.
Yan Fei suffered from an intelligence shortfall, leading to a fatal mistake in his battle plan. He had thought he could use the power of the Drones to eliminate all incoming enemies, which is why he stationed them at sea. Despite complications, even having a Drone dismembered by a laser weapon, he ultimately managed to use the Drones to wipe out Kazuteru Oogawa's squad that attacked from the sea.
However, Yan Fei lacked thorough consideration and missed something while focusing on something else. Although he had eliminated the enemies on the sea surface, he neglected the enemies on land, leaving his headquarters defenseless and with no formidable defense force in place, allowing the real enemy to infiltrate while his physical body was incapable of resistance. Since obtaining his Drone Avatar, Yan Fei had never faced a formidable enemy without any means to fight back. Tonight, he was about to face the most difficult challenge of his life.
