Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1400: Last Hurdle

Chapter 1400: Last Hurdle

The members of the Tongyou Institution revealed looks of excitement as they returned as they hoped that they would be able to receive the blessing of the strange energy so they could raise their cultivation again.

Even though the quality of the energy was extremely high. Other than Shang Xia, no one could easily integrate it with their inner qi.

However, not being able to do it easily didn’t mean that they couldn’t do it. If they were able to fully digest the energy, improving once again wouldn’t be a problem.

Shang Xia couldn’t say anything when he saw their expectant expressions.

Of course, nothing went as planned. When they closed in on the gap in the Star Curtain, Shang Xia and the others discovered that they weren’t actually pushed away by the chaotic streams. Instead, they seemed to be drawn in.

According to Shang Xia’s guess when they first left the Star Curtain, the Heaven Observation Field was like a living creature. With every breath it took, the streams of space would change directions and they didn’t seem to be very lucky at the moment. They approached the Star Curtain when they were passing into the Heaven Observation Field. Moreover, at their speed, they wouldn’t be able to experience the effects of the mysterious energy for long.

Shang Xia and Song Zhen weren’t the only ones who discovered that. Even the Martial Dipper Realm experts realized what was happening.

They quickly begged Shang Xia and Song Zhen to slow the Spirit Ark so that they could experience the mysterious energy for a little longer.

Song Zhen didn’t respond. He looked at Shang Xia for a decision.

Shang Xia thought for a second and mumbled, “We’ll leave it to fate. I’ll do my best, but it’s up to you.”

Shang Xia didn’t actually plan on staying in the gap of the Star Curtain for too long. The pulsating of the Heaven Observation Field actually made him feel extremely uncomfortable and if anything went wrong, he had a feeling they wouldn’t be able to pass through the gap in the Star Curtain easily from then on.

As the chaotic streams continued to flow, they soon arrived at the very spot they experienced the mysterious streams of energy back then. Everyone sucked in a deep breath as they awaited its descent.

Indeed... It arrived the next moment.

Because Shang Xia was present, everyone started to absorb as much energy as they could.

The members of the Tongyou Institution weren’t the only ones. Song Zhen and Shang Xia did the same.

While everyone on board was absorbing energy, the Crimson Soul Tablet’s projection also appeared above the ship to start absorbing the energy.

However, because Shang Xia didn’t seem comfortable, half his attention was placed outside the Spirit Ark.

He discovered that they had been absorbing energy for a little too long, and the Spirit Ark seemed to be hovering in the gap in the Star Curtain.

It was supposed to be something good, a fortuitous encounter for all of them. However, Shang Xia could feel that because of the pulsating, they had stopped dead center in the gap of the Star Curtain.

If the Heaven Observation Field was inhaling earlier... The next thing it would do was exhale!

Shang Xia thought back to the time he was sent flying when they first left and he snapped awake.

“Wake up! Quick, we have to rush out of here!”

Shang Xia’s voice was filled with his inner qi and he jolted everyone awake with him.

Song Zhen and the others heard his instruction and even though they weren’t clear what was happening, they instinctively followed what he said.

The Spirit Ark that was hovering in the void started to speed up again and they started to pass through the Star Curtain. The mysterious energy disappeared and many members on board showed disappointed expressions.

It didn’t take long for them to realize the meaning behind his actions.

As the chaotic streams grew stronger, the Spirit Ark was nearly flipped over.

Facing something like that, the Tongyou Institution had to push quickly through the storm to reach the safest point.

The protection barrier around the Spirit Ark seemed like it would shatter the next moment, but it still remained intact.

Everything inside started to rock violently and those on board were afraid that it would shatter beneath their feet.

Song Zhen’s yell came next. “We can’t hold the protection screen any longer!”

Shang Xia’s gaze landed on him the next moment.

“The force is a lot stronger than the last time...” Song Zhen explained.

Nodding, Shang Xia disappeared into the void outside. He experienced the spatial storm for himself, but he remained motionless in the void.

The next moment, his Stone Rod came crashing down in front of the Spirit Ark.

A strange whistling filled the air and even with the twisting of space, everyone on board heard it clearly.

“True Immortal Shang’s cultivation is truly impressive. It reached a level even I cannot comprehend...” Song Zhen mumbled as the Spirit Ark accelerated yet again.

Actually, it wasn’t as though the Spirit Ark itself had the ability to go faster. It was because Shang Xia carved out a passage of sealed space for them.

Speaking of which, when he did it, he discovered that when he used the fourth and fifth move of his Six Harmony Rod Technique at the same time, he would be able to shatter the void before sealing it off, allowing it to remain relatively more stable.

It was the same as when he forced a path through the battlefield in the Essence Du World, but back then, he was only able to create a passage that was 100,000 miles or so.

At the Star Curtain, there was an unprecedented level of resistance. With his abilities, he could only carve out a path that was 40,000 miles long.

However, the distance was enough for the Spirit Ark to leave the most dangerous region, and the pressure on Shang Xia was greatly reduced.

They might have a safer passage to take, but those on board weren’t fools. They continued to push the Spirit Ark faster to leave the region as soon as they could.

“Finally. We’re safe!”

After leaving the region, Song Zhen couldn’t help but yell in celebration.

Shang Xia shook his head slowly and his expression looked even worse than when they left the Essence Du World.

Song Zhen’s heart thumped violently and he asked in worry, “Lord, are there other powers capable of trying to kill us after entering the Heaven Observation Field?”

“We have been concealing our tracks the entire time and not many people know about our Spirit Ark. However, the moment we reveal ourselves, there may be people forming alliances to steal our gains.” Shang Xia nodded and continued, “If we’re just going to fight, I won’t be afraid of anyone under the Martial Emptiness Realm in our Heaven Observation Field. However, you guys wouldn’t be able to avoid being caught up in it. We are also carrying the world fragment right now. We can’t go back the way we came!”

After he spoke, his gaze landed on Song Zhen and Yan Ming.

Yan Ming muttered casually, “As long as the 2 of you aren’t afraid of trouble, we’ll just travel through the chaotic streams. Whatever it is, we’re in the Heaven Observation Field and the chaotic streams aren’t as strong. We won’t get lost either.”

Shang Xia turned to Song Zhen to ask after hearing her response, “There isn’t any problem with the Spirit Ark, right?”

“No. There won’t be any problem if we travel through the chaotic streams.” Song Zhen laughed.

Nodding, Shang Xia muttered, “Alright, we’ll do it your way. We’ll change our path but before that, let me seal up the mysterious energy in your dantians.”

After he spoke, everyone who was feeling a little bored on the ship because they would be traveling through the chaotic streams revealed happy expressions.
