Chapter 37 - The Hangout - Part 2
As I entered the restaurant, I heard the soft music playing in the background. The aroma of fresh food being cooked hit my nose and the subtle noise of people chatting with each other. It wasn't very crowded despite it being a weekend. The counter was on the right side of us and a sweet lady greeted us with a gentle smile on her face. We greeted her too and stretched her arm towards the tables.
I looked at the aisle beside us, searching for a table for three people, and found one near the window and in the left corner of the building. As I made my way towards the table, I noticed that the light blue coloured wall really helped in illustrating the lighting and creating a hill atmosphere.
We're sitting at our table, waiting for the food to be served. It was a wooden table which was actually made for four people, two on each side. But since it was three of us, I sat alone while Yukimura and Gaisen were sitting together on the other side.
"I remember, the last time I came here was with Koi." Gaisen said.
"So you have visited this place before?"
"Uhhmmm" He nodded as I asked that question.
"Ah, I sometimes forget that you have a girlfriend." Yukimura sighed. "Well, how did you two meet again?" He asked.
"Uh… it's complicated. Just that last year, she confessed to me and I thought about trying it." He said with an awkward laugh.
"A try? How interesting." I mumbled.
"Yeah, it started like that, but now it feels like I would be so empty without her." He said with a distant voice.
"Didn't expect this turn of event?" I chuckled. Gaisen blushed lightly as I made that comment.
"Ufff, how romantic!" Yukimura sighed while patting his shoulder.
"Someone get this man a girlfriend already." Gaisen, face palmed himself.
"Ahh he is already seeing someone." I said.
"Oi!?" Yukimura tried to stop me but Gaisen already got the wind of where this conversation was going.
"Huh?" It seemed like Gaisen wasn't aware of Yukimura's little love story. I decided to enlighten him with the proper news.
"Oh, you don't know about Hiromi-san from class 2-1?" I said in a questioning tone but my main motive was something else.
"Hiromi?" Gaisen raised his eyebrows.
"Saishi… "
"Areh… who is that Tsumen?" Gaisen had this smug on his face.
Yukimura sighed and started explaining his whole ordeal with Hiromi-san. About how he liked her and why he liked her. Gaisen, being the optimist he was, advised him to take his shot and confess to her.
Yukimura was still hesitant about it, but now he had two people who were going to tease him with Hiromi's name.
While this was going on, our food arrived on our table too. I was eating the mixed fried rice that I ordered. It was really delicious, mainly the fried chicken pieces that they had in that.
As we're talking, Gaisen got a call and it went like, "Yeah, I'm there."
"Yes, I'm with them. We are eating food. Yes I'll call you back once I'm done. Just let me eat."
Judging from his conversation, I assumed it was Kizhashi on the other side of the mobile. Before I could make any comments, Yukimura said something which made me crack up.
"Oh yeah, Gai-kun. Who are you talking to? Is this your girlfriend?" He said that while imitating a girl's voice.
"It's just Yukimura-kun. Yes, don't worry."
"Gai-kun, was that night with me meant nothing to you?" Yukimura started laughing.
"I'll talk to you later!" He quickly disconnected the call and put his mobile on the table.
"What the fuck?" He said in an annoyed tone. Yukimura and I were wheezing at this point. Gaisen narrowed his eyes at Yukimura. He raised his left and turned it sideways, delivering a punch to Yukimura's back.
"Ooooff!" He was still laughing. "Ouch, I'm sorry." He said under breath while laughing. "Gai-kun" he emphasised on this part.
"Koi's mad I guess." He took a sip from the glass of water. "Hehe, I'm in trouble."
Looking at his reaction was even more funny.
"Don't worry if she says something, I'll help you." Yukimura put his right hand on Gaisen's shoulder and looked into his eyes in all seriousness.
"I don't trust you. You'll probably end up making it worse." Gaisen said while narrowing his eyes at Yukimura, who was smiling awkwardly.
"Don't worry, I got you back." I said in an assuring tone. Gaisen looked at me and smiled. "To stab it." I added.
"You had me in the first half not going to lie." Gaisen sighed. Me and Yukimura were still laughing.
After finishing our meals, we left the restaurant and started walking in the opposite direction of the mall. Our plan for hanging out with each other was pretty much over at this point. Yukimura advised us to walk in that direction because he wanted to show us something. Albeit, I don't trust this guy's motives.
After walking for a few minutes, Yukimura tugged on my shirt and pointed in a particular direction with his eyes. To be specific, he showed me a girl who looked a few years older than us. A college student probably. Her jet black hair was tied in a bun. She was wearing a white t-shirt with a blue denim jacket over it and black jeans. The most important part, her boobs weren't that big but I love all boobs sizes.
Albeit, I shouldn't judge people objectively based on their appearance. At that moment the only thing which I could see was her outer appearance, so I made opinions based on that. To be honest, people can deny this but it's a fact that looks actually a major role while judging someone.
I looked at Yukimura and he asked, "Isn't she pretty?"
"Hmmm" I nodded. Gaisen also followed my gazes and looked back at me with a funny look on his face.
"Guys, we should gawk at girls like this." Gaisen said.
"Shut up! You'll never know the pain of us single people." Yukimura sighed. "Saishi knows what I'm talking about." He wiggled his eyebrows at me.
"I do not know who this person is." I raised my hands and said that in a monotonous voice.
"Hey!? You betraying me? You traitor." He said intensely.
"I can't believe how dramatic you're." Gaisen face palmed himself and laughed.
"I understand now, why I don't go out with you guys." I said.
"Hey don't drag me in this." Gaisen complained as kids complain when teachers punish them for something they didn't do.
"Well, I'm built differently." Yukimura chuckled.
One thing I liked about these two people is that whenever I plan to go out with them, it goes really systematically. They would never mess up the flow of the plan. Unlike some people, who never show up on time, or suddenly change plans halfway through. That just ruins the mood to hangout with them again.
