Chapter 57: Let Me Be Your Dog
Chapter 57: Let Me Be Your Dog
Many minutes after Sakim rode in the certain carriage on the way towards the heartstone in the Wide Plains, he was staring at the System ever since then. There were just a lot of things that happened since he got here in this world. And even till now, he was still yet to fully believe that something like this could possibly happen to him.
But this was his reality. He had no choice but to believe. Even if this world was just a mere fantasy in his past life, for him who was currently living in this fantasy had no choice but to believe.
So thinking about what had happened to him, Sakim kept staring at his Inventory. There were just a lot of items he got from those many encounters that should have made him happy. But sadly for him, some of the items, of which the better ones, were couldn't be used by him thus making him feel a bit dissatisfied. If those two pieces of equipment he'd stolen from Tanghali were could be used by him now, then how great would it be, right?
But knowing that it was useless to just think of it, Sakim had instead looked for his Status window. However, another dissatisfaction loomed upon him.
Just when on earth would he level up? Including the Hidden Dungeon Boss, he had already killed hundreds of monsters since his last level up but here he was, still stuck at level 9. Just how many hundreds or thousands of monsters he needed to kill just to level up to the next level? And also, if reaching level 10 was already this hard, how much more if it was in the higher levels? Did it mean that he needed to kill millions of monsters just to get a single level? Even just by the thought of it could already make Sakim a bit exhausted.
Sakim then sighed deeply. If only he could steal experience points from the monsters or other players, then how good of a leisure would it be, right? Slaying monsters should have double or many purposes for him. He should have hit many birds in a single stone. He should have able to steal their HP while at the same time, steal their experience points before killing them. That way, leveling up should have been faster.
And also, he should have able to steal the MP of the monsters. That way, he didn't need to worry about losing his MP whenever he used his skills.
But come to think of it now, his MP had still yet to recover even a little ever since he used his Go Die skill. If he'd just recalled about it a little earlier, then he could have asked the knight's captain for some Mana Potions. That way, he would not need to conserve his MP as he would be able to use his Go Die skill as many times as he wanted.
But come to think of it now as well, how come was he not trying to create another skill other than Go Die? It couldn't be that he was contented with this skill alone, right? The world must mad if that was the case.
With that in mind, Sakim raised his palm in front of him. He stared at it wondering what kind of skill should he create this time.
Since his ability was blood control, and since it was related to life, then he could create something like life-forms that could be his summons, right? Or perhaps, he could just put his blood on a certain monster so that he could tame or control it.
It was already known that Sakim was used to be a boss in his past life as he was just sitting around while commanding his people to do things for him. That said, having many summons that he could command and control at will was what Sakim really wanted right now. With that, he wouldn't have to exert himself slaying monsters by his own hands anymore. And with that, his journey wouldn't be so lonely anymore as well.
"Kekeke,"
But as Sakim was still deep in thought, contemplating about how to make summons with his blood, someone inside the carriage snickered. He couldn't help but shift his gaze to see the bandit who made that noise.
When Sakim caught sight of the other party, he stared at him in nonchalance. He recognized this person though. If he remembered it correctly this person was the leader of the bandits.
"Sakim huh," Seeing that he caught the attention of Sakim, the bandit's leader then spoke. His voice could even show the grin behind the black cloth covering his face. So after a moment of pause, he shifted his gaze towards Sakim as he added, "Are you aware of your current situation?"
"What do you mean?" There was a moment of pause before Sakim replied. His interest was piqued slightly.
"Seeing that you're flaunting that name, I assume that you do not know the significance of it," The bandit's leader said.
"Name? What name?" Sakim asked. His eyes narrowed slightly.
There was a moment of pause before the bandit's leader finally replied with a wider grin, "The name Sakim."
Sakim then finally frowned as his bewilderment had leveled up. Just what in the world was so wrong about his name? Other than it meant greed from that language, just what in the world was the significance of it? He could feel that his name was a bit special in this world. He could even see the other bandits around him reacting from his name. He could see that their eyes were showing a hint of fear just by hearing his name. They couldn't even dare to utter a single word before him.
"What about it?" Sakim asked. Although he didn't show any expression, he was dying to know what was wrong with his name.
"So you really are oblivious huh," The bandit's leader continued to grin. He really was wondering how could the other party didn't know about it and where in the world did this guy come from for him to not know it. Just why was he chosen as a vessel for real?
With that in mind, the bandit's leader continued, "The name Sakim is only given to the vessel of the greed sin. That said, I can say that you are the vessel of the greed sin, right?"
Sakim was taken aback by what he'd just heard. He never expected that his name had such a role. He couldn't help but fix his gaze at the eye of the bandit's leader as he asked, "What if I am?"
Sakim knew that he shouldn't have revealing this kind of information. He shouldn't be admitting that he was the vessel of the greed sin especially upon seeing that this title might bring him endless troubles if it was known to the world. But what else should he do? The other party had already guessed about this title when he revealed his name that he shouldn't have. And besides, he knew nothing about it so he might as well try to dig some information from this guy.
"Hehe, I knew it," It was obvious that the bandit's leader had become excited especially upon confirming that his guess was correct. If he wasn't chained right now, then he was now probably jumping in joy.
But then, after a moment of celebration, his joy had immediately turned into seriousness as he pleaded, "Please, let me be your dog! I'm willing to offer my life for you if you just let me serve you."
Hearing the other party, Sakim was speechless. What kind of person would willingly offer themselves to become someone else's dog? Surely, this bandit must have gone insane.
