When morning came, we headed off back to the capital of the Merman Empire.

When we came here, it was Puffer who led us.

Early in the morning, Puffer showed up in front of the house and stood there as if she was waiting for us.

After we came out, Zyra was the one that came forward to say, "Did you wait long for us? Sorry for making you bring us back with you."

Puffer quickly shook her head before saying, "It's nothing. Master, I'll do anything for you." "Master?" I couldn't help repeating in a confused voice.

Zyra said with a nod, "That's right, I'm the one that taught this girl how to use her magic. Imagine how surprised I was when she showed her talents and soaked up all the knowledge that I gave her like a sponge. I never would have thought that she would become one of the Five Great Witches of the Sea in the end."

Puffer said in a respectful voice, "Master, this is all because of you. If it wasn't for master taking me under your wings and teaching me, then I don't know where I would be now."

A smile appeared on Zyra's lips before she said, "Silly girl, you would have been able to make it no matter where you went. I just helped you with a few things, nothing more, nothing less."

The look on Puffer's face became serious as she said, "Master, I will never forget the grace that you've shown me. No matter what, I'll repay it one day."

Then in a softer voice, she said, "You're like a mother to me."

I was surprised to see this relationship between the two of them.

After all, I had never heard a single mention of this in the game before.

In fact, it seemed like this had been completely removed from the game.

Dicus wasn't afraid at all as she jumped onto it and said, "Big sister Puffer, can you make it wavy for me and Cousin Ariel? I want to learn some special moves from her while we're traveling."

Puffer didn't seem to mind this request at all as she threw out another bottle onto that mass of water. The moment that the bottle exploded and the contents made contact with the mass of water, half of it started to fill with waves just like some kind of tide pool.

"Is that enough for you?" Puffer asked with a smile.

"Thank you, big sister Puffer!" Dicus said before waving at Ariel to join her.

Ariel didn't seem like she minded at all as she went onto the mass of water with Dicus, almost treating Puffer like a part of the family.

The only one that felt out of place was me.

Still, the former crown prince came over and took me by the air bubble before bringing me onto the mass of water.

The reason that he did this wasn't because we had become closer.

The reason that he did this was so that he could sit between me and the others.

The way that he sat there between me and the others seemed like he was trying to separate me from them. It was as if he wouldn't let me get near them as long as he was here.

I knew exactly why he was doing this.

This overprotective parent really was something else.

The ride back to the Merman Empire's capital was a smooth one.

Even if there were more underwater creatures that were awake now since it was the morning, that didn't mean that they caused trouble for us. There were two of the Five Great Witches of the Sea with us, so it wasn't as if they could even cause trouble for us.

They had to see if the Great Witches of the Sea would let them cause trouble.

With this mass of water, we arrived back at the same door that was on the side of the whale that the capital was in.

However, it didn't seem like we were heading back into the whale.

Rather, the moment that we arrived, we were immediately surrounded by the royal guards.

It seemed that they had been waiting for us the entire time and they surrounded us the moment that they arrived.

Both Puffer and Zyra pulled out bottles like they were prepared to fight their way out of this, but the former crown prince and I stopped them before Ariel swam forward to face the royal

guards.

"What are you doing?" Ariel asked in an angry voice.

The royal guards revealed bitter looks when they heard this, but they didn't seem to back down even though Ariel was speaking to them like this.

Instead, there was another voice that rang out.

"I was the one that gave them the order."

As soon as this voice rang out, all of us revealed different expressions.

But those expressions showed that all of us recognized this voice. Well that was except for Dicus who had never heard this voice before.

It was hard not to recognize this voice since it was a voice that was filled with majesty, a voice that was filled with the power that one should have as a ruler.

It was the Merman King.
