Chapter 1162: Drunken Pearl (1)
Chapter 1162: Drunken Pearl (1)
"Where are we going?" Ariel asked as she followed me.
I didn't say anything as I continued leading the way.
It was just the two of us that were walking alone, though behind us were a few guards that were following secretly.
I had seen them as soon as we left the palace, so I knew that they had been sent to make sure that we were safe. Though if I had to guess, their orders were most likely to keep Ariel safe.
I was most likely their second priority.
However, I wasn't worried about where I was going since this was a place that I had already seen in the game.
This was a place where I knew how everything would go, so I wasn't scared of what would happen.
Though she looked a bit unhappy that I wasn't answering, I still led the way without any hesitation.
As we were heading into the depths of the Merman Empire's capital, she looked at me with a strange look.
After all, the way that I was leading us was strange.
It was as if I already knew exactly where I was going. It was almost as if I already knew everything about the Merman Empire's capital.
But she didn't believe that this was possible since it should have been my first time here.
So the fact that I was leading with this kind of confidence was suspicious.
After a while, we finally arrived at our destination.
This was one of the districts with less repute, a place that seemed to have a problem with public security. This seemed like one of those places where it would be normal to be jumped by a thug or a group of them.
However, that didn't happen in the end.
It seemed as if there was something in the background that was keeping them away.
I didn't even need to think about it to know what was happening.
Instead, I focused on the place that I had brought us to.
This was a bar that was in the center of this district, which had quite a few customers. It seemed like a place that was the center of this entire neighbourhood with the way that people went in and out of the bar.
"This is it?" Ariel asked in a confused voice as we stood there in front of the bar.
I just gave a simple nod before saying, "Let's go in then."
She followed me, but there was a look of doubt that was on her face as she followed me. But before we could go in, there were two large men that suddenly came forward to stop us.
These two large men had been standing in front of the door the entire time, as if they had been guarding the entrance of this bar. It was as if they were the bouncers of this bar.
However, they hadn't stopped anyone else from entering. It was just us that they suddenly stepped forward to stop.
Though it wasn't as if I couldn't understand why they were specifically choosing to stop us.
There was something that made the two of us stand out compared to everyone else.
It was the bubbles of air that were around us.
We were two humans with bubbles of air around us under the sea, in a place that was filled with mermen and mermaids. It was only natural that we would be out of place here.
After stepping forward one of them asked, "It's rare enough to see humans, but for you to come all the way here."
The other one then said, "You're not welcome here. This is a private bar and no humans are allowed."
Ariel looked a bit worried when she saw the two of them stopping us like this.
It wasn't that she was worried that something would happen, she was worried that this would affect what we were planning to do.
Ariel only knew that we were going to find the sea witches, which was something that made her excited. She had long heard about the sea witches and had been excited to meet them, but she couldn't since she was the princess of the Merman Empire.
But when Zwein told her that there was the chance to meet the sea witches, she was filled with excitement.
Only now...
I looked at the two of them looking at me with threatening looks and I couldn't help revealing a faint smile.
The two of them looked just like they did in the game, there was even a cutscene where these two would come forward to stop the main character if they tried to enter this bar. So this was actually quite the familiar scene that made me think of my past life.
The two bouncers seemed surprised by my reaction and even a bit confused since they couldn't understand why I was looking at them like this.
In the end, they decided that it was better not to interact too much with this human and just make him leave. It didn't seem like this human was right in the head after all, so it didn't seem like talking to him would even help.
But before they could step forward, I suddenly said, "The pearl shines under the moon."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Both of the bouncers suddenly revealed strange looks when they heard this.
They just looked at me with these strange looks on their faces as if they didn't know what to say, but it was clear that they recognized the phrase that I told them.
At the same time, it was clear that what I said had an impact on them as they were looking at
me as if they were trying to figure out if I was being serious or not.
So I just calmly said, "Does that not work anymore? Is there a new password?"
At this, the bouncers had no choice but to take me seriously.
Slowly, one of them shook their head and said, "No, that is still the password."
The other one followed up by saying, "Please follow us."
