Chapter 1150: Elven Kingdom delegation (3)
"Now wait a minute, why would you think that?"
I was pulled out of my thoughts and dazed the moment that I heard this voice.
That was because this was a familiar voice.
I could see that the high elf sitting in front of me was also dazed because of this, showing that they recognized this voice as well.
It was the voice of Vivrum that I hadn't heard in a while now.
When I came back to my senses, I started looking around the room to find the source of this voice, but it didn't seem like I was able to find it. That was until that voice spoke again and I found the source of it.
It was the branch that the high elf had taken out.
"You really have a bad image of me, don't you?"
When Vivrum said this, the branch suddenly lit up, showing that she was using it as a medium to contact me.
There was a trace of a bitter smile that appeared on my lips, but I held myself back since the high elf was here.
There was also a part of me that wondered what the high elf thought of Vivrum acting like this, but the look on their face seemed like they had no reaction to hearing Vivrum talking like this.
I couldn't tell if this was because they had a good poker face or if it was because they were already used to it.
After all, it was possible that they might already know that Vivrum acted like this.
I didn't know how Vivrum interacted with her followers normally, so it might be possible that the high elf was already used to seeing her act this way. It was better to say that I didn't have as good of an understanding of Vivrum as the high elf since I had too little interaction with her.
I was surprised to see her acting like this because this was different from how she had acted before.
But this might just be her true personality, just like with Solista.
"So you do have a bad image of me."
Her suddenly saying this made the smile on my face fill with even more bitterness.
It really was hard when the gods were able to read people's minds, it really made it hard for me to hide anything in front of them.
Though it was surprising that she was able to do it even through a medium.
No, it was to be expected of a god, especially one of Vivrum's level.
With a sigh, I said, "I don't have a bad image of you, I just haven't interacted enough with you to know that much about you. Don't you think so?"
Vivrum was silent for a bit before she said, "Well, that's true."
I shook my head with another bitter smile before asking, "So what are you doing here? Why did you send the elves here?"
The high elf finally showed some kind of reaction when they heard this.
They slightly knitted their brows as if they weren't happy to hear this, but they didn't do anything as they waited for Vivrum's response.
Vivrum didn't say anything right away.
It was only after a pause that she said, "You already know the prophecy that Solista gave you."
I was surprised to hear her mention this, but I gave a nod of acknowledgement.
Vivrum continued by saying, "I'm just doing my part."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"Huh?" I couldn't help asking in a confused voice.
It was the high elf that spoke this time.
"I'm here representing her excellency to extend an offer of alliance to the humans."
The way that the high elf said this seemed to have a trace of arrogance as if they were looking down on the humans, but I wasn't surprised since I already knew that they were like this from my personal experience and my experience from the game.
Even without that, it was a well known fact that elves looked down on humans.
So it was only natural that the high elf acted like this.
"The demons?" That was what I asked in response to this.
The high elf didn't say anything at first, but then they slowly gave a nod.
Though the reports that I received didn't say anything about the elves being affected by the invasion of the demons, I knew that there were certain things that the elves would hide. It wasn't as if they would allow humans to know everything about them, even with the information network of the empires.
Even if Vivrum gave them an oracle, it wasn't as if they would drop everything just to follow this oracle.
The only way that they would let their pride down was if something had happened.
That meant that the demons had done something to the elves in a place that no one had seen. It was even bad enough that the elves would want to form an alliance with the humans.
Since the high elf was willing to admit this, I didn't make it too hard on them.
But there was something that I had to say, "Even if you extend an offer of alliance to us, I'm just a simple king of a single kingdom. I can't do something like represent the entire human race to accept this."
The high elf gave a nod to show that they understood before saying, "But you have a connection to the Holy Empire. That is more than enough of a connection to get things rolling. As for what happens next, I don't think the human empires will miss this opportunity."
I was surprised by the awareness of the high elf, but then I thought that it was only natural.
The Elven Kingdom had been able to exist all this time, so it was only natural that they would have this kind of awareness.
In fact, their information network shouldn't be worse than any of the human empires.
Or else they wouldn't have been able to exist for this long.
