She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 718 Prey

"So… are you ready to give up your life to satisfy my hunger?"

Now that Damien was baring fangs and was looking at her with his blood-thirsty red eyes, Grace felt a chill shiver running down her spine. Her heart was beating as if it wanted to escape from her mouth. And sweat beads were starting to form on her forehead and her back.

"L-Lord Damien…" Grace twisted her arm and desperately tried to get out of Damien's tight grip.

However, her efforts were but fruitless.

Damien tightened his grip on her wrist even more and brought her palm close to his mouth. He inhaled the sweet scent again and let out a hungry moan.

"Lord Damien, p-please let me go!" Grace stuttered in fear upon seeing his desperation to feed on her.

Though she had never seen Kenneth drinking blood directly from a human, she had seen a few times how he would react to the smell and taste of blood. And Damien had the exact same look on his face at this moment.

She knew that she was in grave danger.

And Damien also knew that what he was trying to do was wrong. He knew that he could end up completely draining Grace of her blood. He knew that if he killed another human again, he would also be in danger from entities who were superior to him.

However, when that sweet blood was right in front of his eyes, he couldn't control his urge to taste it.

Damien brought Grace's palm to his mouth and sucked the blood off her wound. He instantly closed his eyes when that metallic taste danced on his taste buds.

He let out a throaty moan. And before Grace could do anything or say anything, Damien opened his mouth wide and sank his fangs into Grace's wrist.

Grace breathed in sharply and widened her eyes in terror.

The moment she felt that sharp pain on her wrist, her knees instantly gave up on her and she stumbled.

But before Grace could collapse to the ground, Damien put his arm around her waist and pulled her close, all while sucking her blood.

"Lord D-Damien… please…" Grace whimpered in pain and wished that she had never tried to follow the demon. "Please, don't do this to me… Please…" She cried and begged Damien to let her walk away but to no avail.

Right at that time, Ariel happened to pass through that area. She heard Grace's voice and looked around.

After a while, she happened to see Damien's back. She smiled and was about to head towards him but then she also noticed Grace's purple gown and her hair. Damien was standing way too close to Grace and he was leaning down towards her.

And from where Ariel was standing, it looked like Damien was kissing Grace.

Ariel naturally assumed the worst without even daring to verify it by going near them.

She gritted her teeth and tightened her grip on her bow. And she thought to herself, "Was everything that he said to me and did to me just a big lie? Was it all just a façade that he put in front of me?"

Ariel felt something burning inside her chest, her eyes glistened with tears.

For a split second, Ariel felt like going near those two and beating the life out of Damien. "How can he spark emotions in me and then the next day, go after another woman? Was his love towards me so shallow that he couldn't even give me a day's time to sort out my feelings?"

She clutched her fists while glaring at Damien's back. She thought of going there and confronting Damien about his behavior. However, she couldn't move her feet at all.

What was she supposed to say to him? It was not like she had accepted Damien's proposal. She was keeping him in limbo. At this point, Damien was just a friend of hers, nothing more, nothing less. And she had no right to interfere him or stop him or get angry at him for pursuing another woman.

She also couldn't bear to keep on standing there and watching Damien holding and kissing another woman. It pained her to see the scene in front of her.

So she stormed away from there while fuming in jealousy and rage.

When Ariel left that place, Kenneth arrived at the scene shortly after because he could also smell human blood from quite far away. But rather than getting lured by the desire to feed on the blood like Damien, he had come there fearing that someone have been attacked and hurt by wild animals.

However, to his utter shock, he found his cousin being attacked by that demon he wished he had never met.

"Damien! What the hell do you think you are doing? Get away from my cousin, you arsehole!" Kenneth shouted from afar.

He then wasted no time rushing toward Damien and punching at the side of Damien's stomach with all his might.

"Arghh!" Damien opened his mouth and turned to give a furious glare to Kenneth for disturbing his meal.

Grace got the courage to pull her hand away from Damien's grip after seeing her cousin standing right beside her.

However, Damien grabbed her arm again and gave a piercing glare to Kenneth. "Get lost," Damien's bone-chilling growl echoed in Kenneth's ears.

And Kenneth knew at that very second that Damien's rational consciousness was far gone.

So without wasting a second, Kenneth backed off a little and then came running to slam his body onto Damien as if he was an ox. The two boys flew in the air because of the force that Kenneth had used.

Kenneth dropped to the ground on his chest after successfully pushing Damien away. And Damien's back skidded on the dried leaves and branches, and he only stopped after his head got slammed on a huge tree's trunk.

Before Damien got up on his feet, Kenneth stood up and shouted at his cousin, "Grace! Run!"

Grace's feet were trembling like a leaf in a storm and her head had already become lightheaded as she had lost considerable amount of blood by now. And no matter how much she pushed her feet, she could only walk, that also while staggering.

She hadn't even taken a few steps when Damien got back up on his feet. His eyes were on his prey only. He wanted every drop of that warm blood.

He rushed while eyeing Grace. But Kenneth put his arms around Damien's waist to lock the demon in between his arms.

And he kept on pulling Damien backward while Damien kept on trying to move forward.

Damien was enraged because his prey was slowly but surely getting away from him. So he put Kenneth in a chokehold and let out a guttural sound from his throat as though he was a wild beast on loose.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Kenneth's hands were already occupied with holding Damien in place. And the only thing he had left were his fangs.

But he didn't want to create a ruckus like yesterday. So he warned Damien while gasping for air, "Trust me, Damien. You don't wanna mess with me right now. You don't want to get poisoned again, do you?"
