Rise of The Anti God

Chapter 664 Do Or Die

Chapter 664 Do Or Die

Damien whizzed through the hall as he slashed away at the black tendrils with the Crimson Death. Its rusty yet sharp blade sliced through them with absolute precision and power.

Damien realized that the death aura in this hall, coupled with the energy he absorbed from the black tendrils, was augmenting his Anti-Energy, allowing him to slash away at them without worrying about getting trapped like before.

But he knew he couldn't keep doing this forever since these black tendrils seemed to be quite endless and at one point, he would surely get overwhelmed and end up dead for sure.

"We should get out of here, but I have to destroy that egg before it destroys us," Damien frantically said while zooming across the hall.

Luna shook her head as she said, "Forget about it. You can't do anything to that ugly egg. You saw it yourself."

Damien felt worried hearing her words since it would mean the only option was to open the gates and trust Ruthren to not do anything shady, which Damien never would.

"But…you can slow down its process and buy this continent some more time," Luna added, which made Damien sigh in relief as he asked, "I knew it! You could have just said that first. Anyway, what do you want me to do?"

"Let Kalypso handle these annoying things while you sever the black veins you see on the floor. These veins channel the energy necessary for whatever is going inside that egg. The problem is the egg requires so much energy it even draws upon the vitality of the lands of this continent to do that, which is the reason death is spreading across the lands gradually," Luna explained as she played with the ends of her hair.

"So if I cut them off, then shouldn't it be a permanent solution?" Damien asked though he began to break a sweat since he was still running around while dealing with the black tendrils.

"No genius. It will just grow back, stronger than before. I doubt you can simply cut it off again, and even if you did, it would grow back faster and stronger. So yeah, don't get your hopes up and just focus on the present," Luna casually said.

"Sigh, it wouldn't hurt to say things in a nicer way," Damien said before using his thoughts to convey to Kalypso to help him take care of the black tendrils trying to hunt him.

Kalypso acknowledged by simply moving out of his hand, and in her Crimson Death form, she began to deal with the black tendrils herself. Damien still had an energy connection to her to supply her with Anti-Energy to deal with those black tendrils. Otherwise, she might find it impossible to deal with all of them.

The black tendrils seemed scared of Anti-Energy and thus would have their aura falter whenever they approached anywhere near Damien or the Crimson Death. This made it easy for the Crimson Death to slash through them while Damien had his hands placed on the floor while focusing on the energy flowing through the veins.

Damien closed his eyes as he felt a shocking amount of nethereal energy flowing in through these black veins. It was only natural that not even powerful experts like the Lancaster Emperor and any other cultivator in this continent would understand why their lands were dying.

How could they if they can't even sense or recognize nethereal energy?

Damien could only think of using his Anti-Energy to sever the veins since apparently, nethereal energy seems to get overwhelmed by it. Fortunately, the nethereal energy flowing through these black veins may be huge in quantity, but its aura seemed to be only as strong as someone in the early to middle levels of the Profound Ethereal Realm.

Damien guessed that since the ethereal air in this continent wasn't that rich with ethereal energy, the black veins could only channel energy whose strength was equivalent to the ethereal energy present in the continent.

This was enough for him to overpower the aura of these black veins and sever them, though he could never stop worrying about them growing back stronger.

Still, he realized that since there were so many black veins, he would have to split his Anti-Energy across all of them while supplying the Crimson Death with Anti-Energy. This seemed like a very difficult task since he had no idea if he might run out of energy and collapse.

The second phase of Undying Wrath wasn't really taxing on his body like before, but the longer he was straining himself to the fullest, the faster he would reach the point of absolute fatigue.

'This is do or die…' Damien told himself as he decided to risk his life and began to split his Anti-Energy across every single black vein covering the floor.

The death aura in the hall became erratic as the air began to twist and contort due to the disturbance in the flow of energy through the black veins.

Even more black tendrils manifested in thin air as they shot toward Damien upon realizing that he was a very important threat they had to eliminate.

But the Crimson Death was still spinning itself around Damien as it severed every single black tendril that threatened its Master's life. Its dark crimson miasma was whizzing around with a frightening crimson light as it moved around.

Damien had his robes drenched with his sweat while his body was shivering from expending so much energy while trying to not collapse. He couldn't just sever the black veins one by one but had to sever them all at the same time. Otherwise, one of the black veins might support the one that got severed, making it instantly grow back.

'Come on…Come on…' Damien gritted his teeth as his Anti-Energy began to run out, and he was literally running on fumes.

To force himself to push on, he thought of his women and how much they loved him and…
