After a devastating blast, Chris' body shook for a bit before calming down.

There was no longer any sign of life emitting from Chris.

"Sir, you can still cast Revive and resurrect him." At this moment, Feras quickly rushed toward Xu Feng and kindly advised.

"You've already vented so you can just resurrect him and let the city's guard handle it from here. There is still time left."

Unlike players who would simply respawn if no one revived their body, NPCs were different. There was a time limit— different for each person on when they could be resurrected with the spell, Revive.

Currently, Chris had no sign of life, but there was still a tiny bit of fluctuation in mana, which proved that his soul was still lingering.

"Feras, if you truly want to become a disciple of Lunar Wraith, then the first thing you must learn is to be decisive when the time calls for it." Xu Feng calmly said, brushing off some dust on his clothes due to the Nether Blast.

"If I dared to kill, then it meant that I dared to." He continued and patiently waited for the guards who were spotted from afar to arrive.

Although the fight here seemed long, the truth was, that only a few 3-5 minutes had passed by. For the guards to arrive at such intervals was already rather decent.

"What happened here?" The supposed commander of the guard questioned solemnly, only to notice a body was on the ground. Swiftly, he went to check on him and realized the body was dead, but still had a residual soul remaining.

"Healer, come and revive him now!" The commander shouted.

Unfortunately, Xu Feng extended his hand and stopped the guards from reviving him.

"Apologies, but he shall stay dead." Xu Feng smiled calmly.

"How dare you!" Enraged, the guards under the commander quickly raised their weapons and pointed at Xu Feng, clearly identifying him as a threat.

Meanwhile, the commander gazed at Xu Feng with a cool demeanor.

"And why should he stay dead?" He asked coolly.

"The person attempted to kill me in an ambush and was outmatched." Xu Feng revealed and retrieved the Aether Compass. "I was tasked by Elder Yaren to undergo a top investigation mission, and was interrupted."

Initially, the commander was about to detain Xu Feng for his nonsense, but as soon as the Aether Compass was revealed, astonishment appeared on his face.

Besides being the commander and maintaining the city's safety, he was also someone with a Profession, and it just so happened to be the Blacksmith.

Thus, he could naturally identify the compass in Xu Feng's hand.

'E-Elder Yaren succeeded in recovering the lost item.' The commander was shocked internally. And based on Yaren's capability, if she hadn't given permission to the youngster in front of him, then there was no way the youngster would still be alive.

After all, there were only a handful of people who could contend against Yaren equally within Paradise Plains.

Finally, the commander took a deep breath and exclaimed, "Even if what you said is true, the man shall be judged in a trial and await his sentence."

And he continued, "Killing him without regard to the city's law is not the procedure."

Nodding in agreement, Xu Feng smiled, "That would be true if it's the normal procedure. However, that's not the case here."

Shortly after, Xu Feng pulled the commander to the side and whispered something to him.

The commander's subordinates were initially startled by the swift change of atmosphere, but when they saw their commander's face turned ashen white. They came to realize this case didn't seem so simple on the surface.

Sure enough, when the commander returned to them, he declared, "This person committed treason and shall not be resurrected."

It was as if his earlier hesitation and wavering had never existed in the first place when praising Xu Feng's action.

Simply nodding, Xu Feng was somewhat disappointed at the latter's action and thought he was still a far cry from the Feras in his past timeline.

Maybe they only became that famous because of the player who had trained him well.

"I'll be taking my leave then." Xu Feng softly spoke, having noticed the last residual of mana from Chris' body dissipating. From then on, the name Chris would only be a forgotten person. As for the consequences of killing him, Xu Feng was more worried about those in a deep relationship with Chris instead.

He didn't just waste time chatting with the commander for naught.

As Xu Feng prepared to leave, Feras and his companions once again went on their knees, pleading with Xu Feng to take them under his wing.

"Sir, please take us as your students or disciples." Feras pleaded sincerely.

Previously, they had been lingering around, hoping that Xu Feng would speak well of them to Carmen so she would take them on as disciples.

But now, they wanted to be under Xu Feng.

After all, being under Xu Feng meant that they could still interact with Carmen and learn from her.
