Chapter 169 Mana Pillar
Chapter 169 Mana Pillar
"W-Who are you?" Rolph asked with much difficulty, his ears still ringing from the previous explosion shockwave. It was clear that he didn't expect there to be another intruder aside from OneManMedia. "Oh, you can't hear me, right?" Realizing his cool entrance was somewhat ruined because the latter was nearly deaf by the explosion, he felt a bit bitter. "Maybe this will help you out." Xu Feng suddenly thought of a great plan.
And under the watchful eyes of the other NPCs who were temporarily immobilized due to the shockwave, Xu Feng touched Rolph's leg with the sword and activated the special ability: Thunder Strike.
Instantaneously, a surge of electricity vibrated throughout his body, causing Rolph to scream in agony. The scream was even louder than the previous NPC that OneManMedia had struck. Reason being?
Unlike the greenhorn OneManMedia which only randomly strikes, Xu Feng made sure to strike exactly where it hurt the most, aka the critical flesh point.
Therefore, the pain sensation that Rolph received was many times more ruthless than what OneManMedia did. Simultaneously, OneManMedia was finally free from the detainment due to the Arcane Mage NPCs being disabled at the moment, allowing him to break free. His eyes widened in shock at that very moment when he saw Xu Feng using the sword and its special ability.
'W-Wasn't he a Cleric?' OneManMedia exclaimed inwardly with a dazed expression. How was it possible for a Cleric class to use a weapon for a Swordsman class? That was something unheard of, and OneManMedia was filled with complete disbelief, wondering if he was merely dreaming while in reality, he was being dragged to some sort of prison. "Yes, this is a dream. I need to wake up so I can escape." OneManMedia muttered, giving himself a slap across the face in an attempt to wake up.
However, instead of waking up, he received damage from self-infliction. With his health lowered because of his slap, OneManMedia finally accepted the reality and that everything happening in front of him was real. And it was because it was real that made him even more lost by the scene. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
While OneManMedia was trying to figure things out, Rolph was currently being detained by Xu Feng. Using some tight ropes, Xu Feng swiftly and smoothly tied the latter up completely. "Do you even know what you're doing?" Rolph shouted, struggling in an attempt to get free. Alas, his strength from earlier seemed to have vanished. "How did he suddenly become weakened?" OneManMedia inquired once he managed to get up from the ground. Alas, Xu Feng ignored him and merely threw some ropes toward him before pointing at the other NPCs nearby. The other NPCs were equally displaying a sign of weakness, almost as if they had just undergone an intensive battle. Aghast, OneManMedia glanced at Xu Feng as if he were a monster. If it was just Rolph weakened, he could still accept it, but for all the enemies to be weakened as well. He would be damned if the culprit wasn't Xu Feng.
'I really cannot trifle with such a person.' OneManMedia made a mental note to himself. Thankfully, he only cursed the latter silently and didn't scream it aloud, otherwise, he feared that he might be toyed to death.
Wiping off the sweat, OneManMedia proceeded to tie up all the weakened NPC, who seemed no different than the chicken on a farm. They might have tried to resist, but it was all a futile effort in the end.
In less than 5 minutes, all of the NPCs were tied up, and their eyes glared fiercely at Xu Feng and OneManMedia.
"What a miscalculation. I never expected there to be two intruders and knew exactly where the mana pillar was hidden." Rolph laughed hysterically, gazing at Xu Feng as if he was a lifelong enemy. By this time, he had regained much of his consciousness, so he was able to think clearly about what happened, including the earlier explosive shockwave.
The explosive shockwave didn't come from the enemy, but their very own Mana Pillar. Therefore, the shockwave along with the fact that they had imprinted their own mana in it, resulted in a severe backlash in their strength.
Mana Pillar was like an external source of power in which they could draw in the environment's mana to their body en masse. Though the Mana Pillar was a miniature version of the actual Mana Tower, the usage was the same, albeit with the frequency and range being minimized by a large margin.
"Well, you were overconfident and the traps you set up in the hideout were indeed amazing, but it's just not good enough." Xu Feng commented. Those traps were indeed a difficult obstacle to bypass, but that didn't mean he would be hindered for long. All he needed to do was find the correct path and where he thought the Mana Pillar's location would be. Merely analyzing the hideout structure and the optimization of the Mana Pillar was enough for him to come to a conclusion.
"Hmph, save your crap and kill me already." Rolph sneered coldly. "Winners are king and losers are bandits. I have nothing more to say to you." And with that, Rolph closed his eyes, ready to accept his demise. Nodding his head, Xu Feng agreed with Rolph's words and that any more words were meaningless. He turned around and glanced at OneManMedia, "Alright, let's get to working on the video."
"Huh?" Baffled, OneManMedia was seriously wondering if Xu Feng was of a sadist nature. "I haven't even recovered yet." He claimed, pointing at his disheveled self.
"That's exactly why I said we should work on the video." Xu Feng commented, throwing the Stormfang Blade over to him. "I'm not making some idol videos. I want one that showcases a great battle and your current hideous appearance is exactly what I need. How else am I supposed to fool the viewers?"
Speechless, OneManMedia glanced at the sword next to his feet and realized everything that occurred had been orchestrated by Xu Feng from the very start.
