Chapter 161: Traffic
After walking to the teleport platform in Willowbrook Village, there were many things in Xu Fg's mind.
Time was against him, and he needed to act quickly.
'Less than days before the Town Mayor returns from his journey.' Xu Fg furrowed his brows.
Riverwood Town's Mayor was out at the momt— a clue that Receptionist Sandy had hinted to him earlier.
Additionally, the insurgce was like the calm before the storm. Once they are ready, a massive coup would begin, affecting numerous beginner towns.
If he recalled correctly, the mission was a shared one among players, banding them together to defd multiple towns collectively. And the ding was the Town Mayor personally making a move, unleashing his true strgth to quch the insurgcy.
However, that was the normal outcome if the players failed to succeed in their defse. Not to mtion, he was the currt one with this mission available due to the high trust of Elias and Sandy in him.
'This scario is legit telling me to accomplish the impossible.' Xu Fg adjusted his glasses.
Most might think he would give up at this point, but who was he?
Was he some random player?
'The mission itself never said I can't manipulate others into doing my bidding.' A macing grin appeared on his face, shocking the nearby guards a the teleport platform.
They were astounded by the creepy grin, with one brave guard stepping forward and inquiring, "Are you okay?"
"Oh, I've just be praised by blacksmith Fiona so I can hardly control my smile." Xu Fg, being rather swift in coming up with excuses, defded his expression.
"Blacksmith Fiona praised you?" The guard was somewhat tak aback initially before flashing a big smile and laughed, "Haha, blacksmith Fiona is a frank person. To be praised by her is no differt than having earned a fortune."
Soon, the nearby guards also stepped forward and gave their complimts to Xu Fg, clearly using this chance to be familiar with him.
And giv Xu Fg's shrewd nature, he gladly accepted each and every one of their thanks. They were all important pawns after all.
"Haha, it's just some luck, and I can't be compared to you hard-working guards." Xu Fg remained humble and instead praised the guards in return.
Time slowly passed by, and the guards gladly waived the charging fee of the teleportation usage for Xu Fg, going as far as letting him choose a destination.
"So you want to be teleported to Riverwood Town?" One of the guards asked again for confirmation.
"Yes, I have some important duty to do there and it would save me a lot of time if you can teleport me there."
"Haha, no worries. It's just a little bit far and that's it."
"I'm reassured that the village has people like you." Xu Fg gave a thumbs up, complimting them to no d.
The guards, although attempting to remain nonchalant, could not hide their glisting proud smiles from appearing on their faces.
Who wouldn't want to be complimted for their hard work?
Ev back wh Xu Fg was kind of at the top in the Reaver Guild, doing his work amazingly. No one complimted him or anything. They simply expected him to do the task wonderfully as if it was something natural.
As time-constrained, he became lost and wondered if a complimt was something that existed or not.
Although he wasn't exactly in the guards' shoes in terms of occupation, he knew fairly well what they lacked and what would please them. Therefore, he was able to subtly manipulate their emotions in granting him free large-distance teleportation.
"Farewell, Advturer Lin Fg, and come back soon!" The guard shouted and activated the teleportation.
Giv the Willowbrook Village was a separate dimsion of their own, his title as Baron was non-existt here.
Nevertheless, that didn't damp their fridliness toward him.
After all, his reputation in the village increased due to Fiona's mission.
While Xu Fg waved his hand to bid farewell to the guard, his body was soon shrouded with the familiar light and particles, forcing him to close his eyes to avoid being blinded.
By the time he reoped them, Xu Fg nearly got squished to death by the number of players appearing on the teleportation platform.
"Oh my god, move your fatass people!"
"If you're in the front, th move! Stop blocking the way!"
"I swear if someone in the front is delaying, I will rip you to shreds with my sword!"
A bunch of vulgar threats echoed through the platform, with numerous players in the back screaming at those in the front to make room.
However, those in the front were equally irritated as well, with some of them firing back.
"Shut your trap, people in the back! Do you think I don't want to move?"
"This is just a small town and everyone is literally crowding this place because of the recruitmt process from Silver Wind guild!"
"I've be stuck here for hours and if I try to use my skills, the NPC guard will detain me on the spot."
Chaos erupted in the platform, with many players' irritation reaching its peak.
After all, there was nothing else they could do until the traffic in the very front lessed.
Aside from that, some who didn't heed the warning attempted to use their skills to hover above the air and free themselves from the crowd.
"Fuck this, I'm outta here." The player shouted.
However, what happed afterward was a bunch of chains smacking the said player down as they were forcefully detained on the g by the NPC guards.
"How dare you use combat skills in the town!" One of the guards shouted in fury, dragging the foolish player away from the sce. The pathway for the NPC guards was specifically for them, and any players who tried to use their pathway were detained as well.
Thus, resulted in the currt chaotic hot traffic mess, with many just trying to squirm their way to the front through brute force without any combat skills active.
As for Xu Fg, he had ough of being squished and pushed a. 'This is insanity!'
