Vol. 7 - Chapter 369 - ‹Job Transfer› candidate, and the job they wished for is……

"There's no other guild but ‹Eden› that I wish to join. Because I want to learn under Zephyr-san and become stronger. I am currently LV75, so I know I can't grow any further through it."

So said the 2nd year Onee-san, who introduced herself as Aegis. Her demeanor and speech carried an aura of a mature person——Well, she is indeed older than me.

Eden was a guild with predominantly more girls ratio, but probably due to being from the same class, neither of them carried themselves with as maturish demeanor as Aegis-san here. Frankly speaking, it was making me a bit nervous.

"Also, my job is ‹Knight›, as informed earlier. It does have aptitude for various ‹Vehicles›, but it is also due to this aptitude that it is hard to be specialized in any of the aspects. Just like a jack of all trades, but master of none."

Her knowledge about the ‹Knight› was right.

It was a mid-ranking mid tier job, classified as a ‹Standard› level job among the ‹Knight Baron› category holders.

‹Knight› had the aptitude for pretty much everything, they could equip a lot of ‹Vehicle› category equipment, ranging from mechanical items like ‹Carriage› to even ‹Monsters›. But it was handicapped by the lack of skills, since the job was an all-rounder without specializing in anything, they pretty much couldn't bring the full potential of those equipment.

For instance, the numbers of skill in possession of ‹Princess Knight› exceed 70, but ‹Knight› possessed only half of them, maybe even lower. That of course made it a mid tier job.

‹Princess Knight› has as many as three types of ‹Drive› category skills, while ‹Knight› only has one. The only way for them to get stronger in that case was to reach out for all sorts of skills, which inadvertently gave them the title of 'Jack of all trades, master of none'. So they could equip any equipment they want, but their outburst would never be comparable to the specialized jobs.

This also means they would have a hard time keeping up with the exploration over time.

I assume this should be the reason why Aegis-san was in the D-rank sub-guild ‹White Saber›, and not in A-rank guild ‹Temple Saber›.

She basically couldn’t grow any more stronger than she currently was, and to be honest, she would fare better using ‹Job Transfer›.

"Hmm, I know about the ‹Knight› job."

"As expected of Zephyr-san. Back to the topic, I hope to ‹Job Transfer› from ‹Knight›. After that, I hope to learn about ‹Training Manual› from you, and contribute to ‹Eden›."

I see.

I glanced around to see other's reaction, though neither looked perturbed. ‹Job Transfer› was considered taboo in this after all.

The perception about it has slightly changed recently due to my information release, but there were still very few people actually stepping out for ‹Job Transfer›.

I guess Aegis-san—no, all the four people must be one of the few hoping for ‹Job Transfer›.

That’s honestly great, I like those who always try to aim for greater heights!

Though I had one question.

"There's something I want to hear, what type of job Aegi-san wants to acquire after ‹Job Transfer›?"

"What... type?"

"Yes, let's suppose you can take any job, even ‹Princess Knight› is fine. So I would like to ask you, Aegis-san, what kind of job you would like to have."

My question probably came out as a curveball for Aegis-san, as it replaced her calm and polite persona with her pure, unfiltered expression. Ohh, this natural look suits her better.

I can't put it into words, however her current expression scored a homerun in my head. She looks more lovely when she doesn't try to appear mature. I jolted it down in my mental notebook.

"Err, anything, is it?"

"Yes, anything is fine. Just leave your worry behind and tell me, where your interest resides?"

"M, My interest huh."

Aegus-san paused there as a slight shade of red crept up to her cheeks ,and then, she averted her eyes.

It was just a simple gesture, however it was enough to highlight her cuteness. Aegis-senpai is an adorable senpai— and yet again, I jolted it down on the second page of my mental notebook.

While my brain was occupied with some good-for-nothing thoughts, Aegis-san finally parted her small mouth and spoke in a somewhat subdued voice. Her voice was so hushed I was sure I would have missed it if I weren't paying attention.

"Umm...... ‹Dragon Knight Princess›......"

The instant she spoke, her face turned beet red, as if she had revealed something very embarrassing.

"‹Dragon Knight Princess› huh."

The one who reacted to her words was none other guildmaster Daise, who was supposed to watch it from the sideline. Apparently, he didn't even pay it attention as it just inadvertently slipped out of his mouth with how spaced out he looked.

However, hearing that, the gentle look in Aegis-san's eyes shifted to a stern tone.

"Hey, can you please shut your mouth and don't interject between, Guildmaster? I am currently having a very important discussion, so please zip your mouth and don't do it again."

"O-Okay, my fault. I understand, I will keep my mouth shut."

"I believe it wouldn't hurt for you to gain a bit more tact, Guildmaster."

"S, So harsh..."

Aegis-san reproached Daise.

She probably felt like he was poking fun about her dream, which she probably didn’t want anyone to question.

Why such a reaction? I didn't expect her to react like this, so i asked to clear my doubt,

"Sorry to interrupt, but can you tell me what is wrong about ‹Dragon Knight Princess›?"

"Huh?"

However all I got was a stupified grunt from both Aegis-san and Daise.

After staying silent for a while, Aegis once again made her eyes wander around and intertwined her finger, showing her embarrassment and spoke.

"Err, umm. Isn't it a bit childish?"

"Hmm? Childish?"

My mind didn't register the words of Aegis-san. What did she mean by childish?

Just as I was internally confused, Freck D-san, who had been sitting next to Aegis-san, gave a helping hand there.

"Come on, you two, not everyone knows about the full details. You are even confusing Zephyr-san here."

"Ah, oops. You are right. It completely slipped out of my mind."

"Zephyr-san, let me explain it. ‹Dragon Knight Princess› is a legendary job from a certain fairy tale that girls from ‹Knight Baron› families absolutely loved to role-play as during their childhood."

"Freck, your language is all over."

"Oh, crap."

"You don't need to be so stiff. I also don't like formalities much, so just be yourself, this way, I can be more relaxed as well."

"Woah, thanks a lot."

Once Freck D-san stopped being so formal, he sounds more approachable.

Aegis-san was still blushing with embarrassment, but she didn't seem to mind Fleck D-san explaining the situation.

"Anyway, continuing on, the fairy tale in which ‹Dragon Knight Princess› appeared has been deeply adored by the ‹Knight Baron› families, and hardly there would be anyone who had grown up without reading it. So there are many young girls who harbor the dream of becoming ‹Dragon Knight Princess› when they grow up, but unfortunately, no one knows if such a job even exists. After all, how can there be ‹Dragon Knight Princess› when this world doesn't have any dragon."

"......Come again?"

The explanation from Freck D had stunned me to the core.

No dragon in the world? That was impossible. After all, dragons were a special existence for the ‹Dungeon Activity›.
