Chapter 86: She Doesn’t Have Much Time Left

Chapter 86: She Doesn’t Have Much Time Left

“Give me another copy of Abigail Green’s information.”

After taking a shower, Brandon Piers’ inner fire hadn’t completely extinguished. With his half-wet short hair, his eyes were full of agitation.

Pullan glanced at his master and felt it was inexplicable. Miss Abigail’s information was just that—ordinary, with nothing particularly noteworthy. Was it necessary for his master to look at it over and over again?

Despite his inner Tsukkomi, Pullan obediently handed over the information.

Three pages of paper were neatly stapled together.

Brandon accepted it and looked through it several times. His gaze finally settled on the photo of a girl with blunt bangs and black-rimmed glasses, so plain that there was no memorable point.

Under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t even bother to spare her a glance. Yet, he had such a deep entanglement with her.

“Investigate her whereabouts from last June to this April again. You can start backwards from Maggie Maternity Hospital. Be cautious.” Brandon gave new instructions after closing the file.

Pullan looked up in confusion. Since the last time his master received that DNA report, he had been very silent and hadn’t taken any action, even losing interest in Miss Abigail.

Why did he suddenly want to investigate Miss Abigail’s past today?

Pullan hadn’t seen the report, always thinking the results were the same as before. But today’s sudden instruction to re-investigate… could there be an issue with the results?

“Go ahead. Be wary of Ruby Green and her mother. They might have a computer expert backing them.” Brandon was too lazy to look at Pullan’s Husky-like expression and emphasized the point.

“Yes.” Pullan saw his master’s impatience and suppressed his curiosity. But when he went downstairs, he saw Abigail Green pushing Teddy in the yard, occasionally bending down to tease the little guy. Her gaze was so gentle that one could almost ignore her figure.

Teddy in the stroller was giggling happily, filling the yard with a unique warmth.

This was a warmth he’d never seen in the Piers’ Mansion, despite following Master Brandon for years. He couldn’t help but stop in his tracks.

Abigail sensed Pullan’s gaze and looked up with a gentle smile. “Pullan, going out?”

Her tone was nothing but natural.

Pullan nodded, momentarily stunned by Abigail’s enchanting eyes. He silently thought that if Miss Abigail wasn’t overweight, she would be quite a beautiful girl.

But this thought was fleeting as he recalled the photos he found during his investigation. Instantly, his expression stiffened. Without the weight, Abigail would seem even more unremarkable.

Abigail, unaware of Pullan’s colorful internal world, continued to tease little Teddy after greeting him, her heart filled with an indescribable softness.

Since she brought Teddy back from the hospital, she had begun planning how to leave with him. But she soon discovered the Piers’ Mansion wasn’t simple.

This mansion, resembling an ancient garden, was equipped with numerous modern high-tech devices. Surveillance cameras were everywhere. Any slight movement would be immediately reported to Brandon Piers.

Moreover, she noticed that the residents around the old mansion were not ordinary citizens. They had strong lower limbs, broad shoulders, and firm bones, and were highly vigilant—clearly the result of long-term training.

This explained why those who wanted to harm Brandon Piers and Teddy always failed outside the mansion.

Those people probably couldn’t even get close to the mansion.

Hence, her plan to escape the mansion with Teddy seemed impossible and unrealistic.

Besides, there was Aunt Claudia.

Thinking of Aunt Claudia, Abigail frowned. Lawyer Jones had been trying to locate Rose Taylor’s hiding place for days without success. Naturally, they couldn’t rescue her.

As long as Aunt Claudia was in captivity, Abigail couldn’t leave the Piers’ Mansion. She even had to adhere to the engagement with Clark Stone.

Thinking of Clark Stone, Abigail couldn’t help but close her eyes. The original Abigail must have been blind to fancy such a scumbag.

Yet, with the engagement approaching, there wasn’t much time left for her.
