Chapter 80: Ruby Green's Acting Skills
Chapter 80: Ruby Green’s Acting Skills
“Abigail, is the baby you’re holding George Piers?” Ruby Green sat in her wheelchair, looking fierce.
Abigail looked at Ruby, who had been lethargic a moment ago but was now arrogant again. She glanced down at the sleepy little Teddy, gently swaying and patting his back. “Teddy, be good, sleep now…”
Because he had cried earlier and just fed, the little guy soon closed his eyes and fell asleep in Abigail’s arms.
Only then did Abigail look up at Ruby. Thinking about Aunt Claudia’s uncertain condition, her black eyes flickered with thin anger, her tone mocking. “Yeah, so what?”
“Give him to me.” As soon as Ruby heard it was George Piers, she immediately pushed her wheelchair, trying to snatch the child from Abigail.
Abigail took a step back, looking down at Ruby in the wheelchair. “Isn’t the pain from last time enough, or do you think that because you captured Aunt Claudia, I’ll be absolutely obedient?”
“You know Aunt Claudia is with us, aren’t you afraid I… hehe.” Ruby stared at Abigail’s chubby face, deliberately threatening her.
“I’m scared, how could I not be.” Hearing Ruby’s deliberate laugh, Abigail cooperated by taking a step back, but her tone didn’t show any fear, instead, it was more sarcastic.
Ruby couldn’t stand it. “Fat bitch, do you really think we don’t dare to do something to that old woman?”
“Of course, you dare. Why wouldn’t you? Killing and kidnapping, what haven’t you mother and daughter done? I just can’t guarantee that when you touch Aunt Claudia, I might accidentally reveal something. After all, the second young master married you for the child.” Abigail leaned into Ruby’s ear, whispering lowly.
“Bitch!” Ruby gritted her teeth. She never thought she would someday be so cornered by someone she despised as a useless coward.
Abigail smiled, holding the child tightly. “The second young master is here. Aren’t you afraid that he’d be scared off by your vicious expression and cancel the wedding?”
Ruby was startled, realizing that she heard Brandon was bringing Teddy for a check-up in the hospital today. Her goal wasn’t Abigail but to coincidently meet Brandon.
At that moment, Ruby hurriedly collected her previous expression, looking around and seeing Brandon standing not far away, watching her indifferently. Her nerves tensed, tears welled up in her eyes. “Second young master…”
Abigail, caught off guard, got goosebumps from Ruby’s coquettish voice. Looking down again at Ruby’s face, now as gentle as water, it felt surreal. That acting… tsk tsk.
Sighing, Abigail suddenly recalled that Ruby was different from Abigail. She studied performing arts in college, it seemed the tuition didn’t go to waste.
Although Brandon didn’t hear what the two sisters were talking about later, he had long since noticed the discord between the sisters. The little fatty seemed to hold something over Ruby, who was angered just now but helpless against the little fatty.
This amused him.
From his investigation, Abigail had been living under Taylor and Ruby’s thumbs for years, enduring everything except when she went to college. She was almost absolutely obedient in other matters.
But now, it seemed Abigail had the upper hand over Ruby.
“Second young master, I just want to hold the baby, but Abigail won’t let me. Teddy is the child I carried for ten months. I miss him every day during these days I haven’t seen him. In my dreams, I’m looking for my child. Could you help me tell her, please?” Ruby softly sobbed, her face full of a mother’s longing for her child, but her eyes remained on Brandon.
That acting wasn’t heartfelt after all.
Brandon raised his eyebrow. “Really?”
“Yes, second young master. I really want to hold Teddy.” Ruby spoke with eyes full of longing.
Abigail’s eyes were cold, glancing at the man obviously enjoying the show. She frowned but then met another pair of familiar eyes. Her whole body stiffened, her heart suddenly racing.
He… he was there too?
