Quick Transmigration: The Villainess Is a Sweetheart

Chapter 218

If the world were to keep on turning.

Shang Lu finally managed to reconcile with his ex-girlfriend who had insisted on breaking up with him, right there in the haunted house.

He walked hand in hand with his little girlfriend on their way back, carrying a large bag full of ice cream. It was too much for just the two of them, so they shared it with people they knew along the way.

A sociable guy who received some ice cream joked loudly, "They're handing out sweets, everyone!"

A boy in sportswear, holding a ball, called out to Shang Lu, "Want to play ball?"

But he was immediately stopped by someone nearby, "Have some tact, will you? They're on a date. Who's going to play ball with you?"

...

Upon realizing that Shang Lu was capable of genuine emotions, Jiang Yan decided not to follow the predetermined plot set by the System.

The two got back together, and their relationship seemed to be just as it was before.

However, due to the breakup, Shang Lu developed a slight post-breakup syndrome.

That night, Shang Lu tried to get Jiang Yan to take back the money. Since they had just reconciled, he didn't dare to speak harshly. Instead, he lingered with her at the steps below her dormitory building, trying to persuade her.

Jiang Yan refused, saying, "That money is rightfully yours."

Shang Lu couldn't out-argue her, and he didn't want things to be so clear-cut between them, especially since the money was the main reason for their breakup—Shang Lu had pinned the blame for the breakup on the money.

There was no way it could be because Jiang Yan didn't like him anymore.

As Jiang Yan kept refusing to take the money, Shang Lu started to feel uneasy, his eyes and brows betraying his discomfort. Having suppressed his feelings for so long during the breakup, he still felt insecure even after winning her back.

Shang Lu gazed intently at Jiang Yan. Just as she began to sense something was amiss, he tilted his face and leaned in for a kiss.

The night air was cool, and Shang Lu's lips felt a bit cold. He kissed Jiang Yan repeatedly, as if trying to dispel his emotions, releasing his pent-up feelings through the kisses.

There was a streetlight in front of the dormitory building, but it wasn't very bright, casting only a faint glow on the ground.

Jiang Yan's face was turned towards the light, clearly visible in the dim illumination, while Shang Lu's back was to the light. Jiang Yan could vaguely make out his reddened lips and his eyes, glistening with moisture.

Though he was clearly upset, all he could do was kiss her.

Finally, Shang Lu embraced her, his voice muffled, "Please take the money back. Otherwise, I get scared every time I think about it."

I have lots and lots of money, but I only have one you. Money can never define our relationship.

Perhaps due to his privileged upbringing, Shang Lu could easily have many choices. He always got along well with everyone, yet seemed indifferent to everything.

But now, over this issue of accepting money, he was showing his vulnerable side to Jiang Yan.

Suddenly, Jiang Yan's heart softened.

...

The two were in the same year but different majors, though occasionally they shared elective courses.

This was absolute bliss for Shang Lu. Whenever they had the chance, he would ask someone to save seats early so he could sit next to Jiang Yan.

The professor would play a boring educational video at the front, while Jiang Yan flipped through her book with one hand. Shang Lu sat up straight, but under the desk, he was playing with her fingers.

Jiang Yan glanced at him once, then twice, but he showed no reaction. She had to lean in close to remind him, "We're in class. Don't be so clingy."

Shang Lu looked up, startled, as if waking from a daydream. He lowered his voice, his tone revealing a subtle mix of dissatisfaction and jealousy, "We should have taken seats in the back row. I can hear the couple behind us kissing."

Jiang Yan's expression flickered. She twisted the hand he was holding, "We're in class!"

Shang Lu didn't seem to feel any pain. He let Jiang Yan fidget with his hand while his mind wandered, imagining what it would be like to kiss in the back row.

...

Jiang Yan's dormitory organized a small team-building event. They pooled money to order barbecue and fried chicken, along with fruits and snacks, filling up an entire table.

When the Dormitory Head went out, she deliberately brought back a few bottles of low-alcohol fruit wine, saying it wouldn't get them drunk and tasted quite good.

Drinking in the dorm always felt like an exciting affair.

Jiang Yan tried a bottle of green tangerine vodka flavor. It was sweet and sour with a very mild alcohol taste, refreshing and quite enjoyable.

Her roommates were in their usual frenzy, bantering back and forth.

The well-behaved Jiang Yan quietly ate her food, but because the barbecue was too salty, she ended up drinking two bottles of fruit wine.

Little did she know that while the fruit wine seemed harmless at first, it had a strong aftereffect. Before long, Jiang Yan was tipsy, feeling dizzy and unable to understand what her roommates were saying.

The Dormitory Head tapped the two empty bottles in front of her, pointing at her flushed face and teasing, "Such a lightweight! Already drunk?"

Jiang Yan fanned herself with her hand, feeling hot and stuffy. It took her a while to find her phone.

Just then, Shang Lu sent her a message asking if she had finished dinner.
