In fact, this spirit bone wasn't comparable to the Blue Silver Emperor's Core because it was completely unusable to him. So when Liu Erlong finally came out to trade her spirit bones this time, Ja Sun completed it silently and without any reluctance. Not only that, Liu Erlong didn't question Bibi Dong's discussion the entire time. Her mind was focused and her eyes revealed an excited glare.
To Ja Sun, Supreme Pontiff Writ was only a piece of metal. It didn't have any words or any signature. It did not even have any form of blood connection with Bibi Dong. But still, Ja Sun knew that in this world, men and women value tokens of identification and will go to great lengths to form a method of identification regarding its authenticity. And even if there is a chance that Bibi Dong might go back on her words, wasn't Ja Sun equally sharp and manipulative? Can't he build a relationship solid enough that even Bibi Dong feels hesitant about going back on her words?
With the trade completed, Ah Yin let out her domain once again as Liu Erlong instantly began absorbing the spirit bone. Unlike Ja Sun, she didn't have to wait. After all, the secret of Hell White and Black Tigers was great enough already much less another Nightmare's Fantasy spirit bone. Once Ja Sun felt the aura of the spirit completely being subdued and absorbed by Liu Erlong, he took the initiative to disguise himself and scout within the city.
With Liu Erlong not needing concealment any longer, Ah Yin tagged along and the remaining three stood by Liu Erlong to keep distractions away so that she can properly absorb the spirit bone.
---
The bounty on Ja Sun and his companions was set through private networks. Only experienced individuals and hunters were specifically headhunted for this job and one of them happened to be a Titled Douluo.
The region close to the Dragon Rising City is dried and dusty due to a historic drought that once almost destroyed its roots. Presently, a thick arm tore from the ground three kilometers away from the city, in an unmarked and wide expanse of sturdy and dust-covered ground with no plant in sight. Although the arm was thick and covered in dust, it wasn't muscular at all. From the bicep, the flabby flesh shook and narrowed around the forearm and even further near the wrist, making the palm look especially slender.
Another arm tore out and soon, a round body shot out from the ground. This man was quite fleshy with the size of his waist more than 60 inches wide and even when the man's height surpassed the length of 2 meters, he strangely looked short and stacked. His palms and feet were both strangely slim despite the round torso and a chubby and bearded face. His grey hair tied up into a small knot and his hairline almost reaching the top of his skull.
Around the wide body moved nine spirit rings, each similar to a halo. From the top to bottom, two yellow, two purple, and five black spirit rings.
A fearsome Titled Douluo.
Looking around silently, the man began walking towards the city barefoot. His speed extremely mundane. No energy in his steps, no sense of harmony or technique, something hardly expected of a titled douluo.
---
"Can you move normally?" A rather harsh voice interrupted a huge, black-skinned individual with a veiny bald head and a tremendously large and intimidating body. He wore a thick brown leather armor and even had a spear on his back. Meanwhile, next to him walked a blue-haired man with his short hair 3/4th swept to the right and the remaining to the left. A bit shorter than the bulky youth but amongst masses, the duo stood out. After all, despite his large body, as the dark-skinned man walked, he gave a sense of ethereal grace. His feet seemed to disappear every now and then but the strangest of them all was the fact that the dark-skinned bald man and the fair-skinned blue-haired man held hands while walking.
Naturally, these two were Ja Sun and Ah Yin.
"Can't I practice a technique while walking?" Ja Sun questioned softly and Ah Yin sighed.
"You can... but it's tugging on my hand. Can't you practice later?" She retorted.
Ja Sun was practicing the Extreme Phantom Shadow Technique. The technique had nothing to do with the words 'Extreme Phantom.' It was based on the creator of the technique. The true essence lied in the word 'Shadow.'
A person can incorporate this technique in any form of movement and the core of this technique lie in explosively shifting one's center of gravity so much so that the body follows the motion in an instant. A technique that would only need a little time to be incorporated and mixed with storm steps. The shift of momentum and center of gravity... even without Gentle Tactics, this technique could create one of the harshest attacks in an instant!
"I can..." Ja Sun mumbled, finally walking normally.
The sight of two men walking while holding hands happened to be a strange one but not many poked their noses due to the faint spirit energy they released to keep off any random pest from disturbing them, an action both of them wouldn't do when alone or with someone else but right now, both of them agreed with the fact that even if bickering, they didn't want to be disturbed.
"I can sense a few presence around us. Strong spirit masters most probably pulled by the scent of a delicacy that Ka-ul has become," Ah Yin whispered with a smile, her 'burly' body barely an inch away from Ja Sun.
Even if others saw the illusion, Ja Sun being completely immune to any form of illusion only saw the real Ah Yin. Her long blue hair cascading over her back. The diamond-gold necklace attracting his gaze before even making the slightest hint of Ah Yin's flesh look more delectable and the refreshing smile pulled over her lips.
"You always seem to forget that if I truly die, you won't find any man better than me," Ja Sun chuckled.
"'Better than you' for what? For providing me with gifts and resources?" Ah Yin tilted her head.
"All sorts of things," Ja Sun hummed, "We are holding hands. We also share small moments from time to time. So, you won't probably find a better man than me for all this. As for sharing resources with you... that day was an exception. I don't like sharing food, much less sharing resources."
Ah Yin's smile widened, "That's what made that such an exceptional act. And that's what makes me so exceptional. Oh, you're so pitiful. You can't even see that I have you wrapped around my fingers."
"You certainly have," Ja Sun squeezed Ah Yin's a bit tighter momentarily.
"But it looks like someone else is doing the same..." Ah Yin suddenly whispered and Ja Sun glanced at her. The smile on her face already fading by quite a bit.
"What's gotten into you?" Ja Sun smiled, "Of course, a guy like me is sought after everywhere. As a grandson, son, father, brother, husband, or just a random individual to warm one's bed for the night."
Ah Yin looked up. Unlike Ja Sun, she wasn't immune to illusions, and seeing such an intimidating face smiling so sincerely while saying something so shameless, a chill was sent down her spine.
"Oh, we're here," Ja Sun looked towards the entrance of the restaurant and walked inside. True, entering an alley tavern would give better results regarding targeting the bounty hunters but being a man with two different points of view, one of this world and one of other, Ja Sun felt that both these views converged as to where an attractive partner should be taken when alone: Someplace nice.
Ja Sun's and Ah Yin's appearance wasn't something that made the waiter twitch in surprise but the strange aura of affection exuding from both the 'men.'
"Couldn't you have just turned me into some other girl? This makes me question your taste," Ah Yin finally sighed once they found their seats. She, of course, already observed many strange gazes sent towards their direction from the get-go.
"If I disguised you as Bibi Dong, Hu Lana, and Liu Erlong and then tried to kiss you, would you think I'm kissing you for you... or them?"
"And what about you?" Ah Yin countered, "What if I... hmm, like holding hands with your current appearance than your real one? Besides, Master already said that not to fall for your tricks until you present a Spirit Bone worthy enough."
"Maybe I should have changed you into Liu Erlong..." Ja Sun scoffed.
Ah Yin narrowed her eyes, "Go ahead, give it a try."
"I don't want to," Ja Sun replied instantly without a second of thought not out of loyal emotions but even more selfish ones.
"Then, Bibi Dong?" Ah Yin pressed further.
"Don't test me too much," Ja Sun smiled, "Or I will be kissing Ah Yin, Bibi Dong, and Liu Erlong back-to-back."
Her eyelids twitched and Ah Yin finally calmed down a little.
"It's been a while," Ja Sun smiled.
"What is?" Ah Yin inquired after placing her order.
"Just that... whenever I train or we are out in the woods, despite taking rests in between, everything ends up tense and hectic even if we train normally. I am just enjoying this time of calm."
Ah Yin sneered, "Oh? You enjoy calm? Really?"
Ja Sun snickered, "No, I thought saying something aloof like this would sound good but it really doesn't."
Both the 'men' grinned widely. Yet, despite saying this, they felt incomparably peaceful.
"You remember our time in Balak City?" Ah Yin questioned, "When you questioned my trust?"
"I question it every day, still." Ja Sun narrowed his eyes, "But it is because I trust you, too, that I can speak openly about me doubting you."
Ah Yin nodded and then shook her head with a sigh.
"What is it?" Ja Sun questioned and Ah Yin frowned slightly. She seemed to be wanting to speak something but in the end, she quietly shook her head once again.
"You two, may I ask you to sit somewhere else? This seat is right next to the cooler and I sweat a lot. I could truly make the best use of this seat."
A coarse voice broke Ja Sun's and Ah Yin's concentration. Their hearts startled inwardly but showing a calm expression, Ja Sun looked up and saw a giant of a man with mustard skin yet radiant eyes looking back at him. The giant and round man didn't wear any boots and the soles of his dusty feet revealed that he didn't need any boots. After all, despite the slender and thin feet, the man's center of gravity seemed entirely dependent on them and Ja Sun could feel a sense of oppression from them.
But the focus of the matter was that the giant ball of flesh was heaving and his robes drenched in sweat.
"Let's go," Ja Sun glanced at Ah Yin and stood up calmly with Ah Yin following the movement. This man just entered their range without even alerting them. Whether astonishingly weak or astonishingly strong, the duo didn't have the mind to enter an argument at this time. The stranger smiled and nodded before taking the seat and Ah Yin and Ja Sun walked up to the next floor to find another seat.
"Who was that man?" Ah Yin finally couldn't help but gasp softly.
"Who knows," Ja Sun mumbled. Both of them fell into silence.
"Still, he was too fat. Do you think it had something to do with his martial soul?" Ja Sun questioned and Ah Yin frowned.
"I don't want to talk about that."
Ja Sun huffed, too. The previous harmony seemed to be broken now and even if they wanted to talk more, they couldn't help but remain silent the entire time. Even after eating, they silently moved around the city, noting a few spirit masters questioning their identities and stuff.
When they returned to the inn, Ja Sun finally spoke up, "Let's go to your room first."
"Sure," Ah Yin nodded. It was already more than seven hours and it was already afternoon. Still, with his spirit energy only being consumed for the disguise of two of them, he could continue to keep the Yin-Yang Illusion for a longer period. But once they entered Ah Yin's room, Ja Sun removed the disguise and slumped down on the sofa with a comforting sigh escaping his lips, "Ahh, I'm stuffed. Do you think Liu Erlong has finished absorbing the spirit bone?"
"Probably not," Ah Yin sat down next to him. Now that their true appearance was revealed, much of the tension the duo felt before had already dispersed quite a lot. A smile silently formed over their lips as they leaned against each other.
"You know what we should do?" Ja Sun smiled, "We should continue where we left off in the Star Luo City."
Ah Yin blinked, "You mean gifting me a necklace?"
"I mean what came afterward," Ja Sun stated directly.
Smilingly, Ah Yin leaned forward. Though he felt that this approach would crash and burn, too, when facing the notoriously blue-balling Ah Yin, seeing her face getting closer to his, her subtle and pleasant scent filtering into his senses, and finally the warm breath touching his lips even before her lips, Ja Sun couldn't help but feel his heart beating a bit quicker. His blood still remained young and would definitely boil in such circumstances yet he retained his calm. In this situation, Ja Sun didn't want to give in to his primal side. Why should he? He did all the work and he wanted to taste the benefits himself, not the animal within.
Unexpectedly, despite Ah Yin's sensual gaze, she stopped almost three centimeters away from his lips. So close and yet to so far as she whispered, "I can't do it unless I tell you something... only after my sixth spirit ring."
'I can't wait, I really can't wait... but, I think I know what she's talking about and yet I want it to hear it from her... and then laugh at her face saying: Already knew it, bitch!'
Ja Sun uttered a groan as Ah Yin's lips brushed past his deliberately before falling on his left cheek.
To kiss her or take a shot and laugh at her face, both the situations felt pleasing but when Ja Sun felt Ah Yin's lips on his cheek, his mind couldn't help but clear up a little.
'That's right, whatever she has to confess will be followed by what I want... so, I can laugh and kiss if I remain patient enough...' His gaze turned eerie.
"Fine," Ja Sun almost growled forcefully, "But once I get my hands on you... hehehe."
Ja Sun chuckled weirdly, but not enough to repulse Ah Yin away, and finally, both of them settled right there on the sofa. Both of them were equally unwilling to move.
---
"So, there are definitely strong opponents in the city trying to find us and we even ran into someone who is at least a Spirit Douluo. Figures because the lure of spirit bone is extremely great. I suggest that we lure away the bounty hunters below the rank of Spirit Sage first since all of them seem to have come from important backgrounds. Without Spirit Hall's financial wealth, we can recover ourselves in the monetary sense by looting these individuals."
Ja Sun spoke calmly as the four sets of eyes gazed at him and Ah Yin strangely.
"No," Liu Erlong spoke carefully, "I asked what happened between you two."
"I just gave you a gift... for one week, you don't ask me any stupid questions," Ja Sun narrowed his eyes.
"No, she traded it with Spirit Bones and my help. She can ask whatever she wants," Bibi Dong countered sharply while Xie Xan and Hu Lana's smile never faded.
"That's right, that's right," Xie Xan nodded at Bibi Dong's words and stated sagely.
"If you really must know," Ah Yin looked at everyone before her gaze settled on Liu Erlong and Bibi Dong, "I kissed Ka-ul. Right here," she traced her lips with her index and Ja Sun's lips twitched: 'You mean you kissed me with that right there! Oh, my god! I'm surrounded by petty bastards!'
He realized this now. None of them weren't actually kind at all. Each of them is petty and selfish.
Hearing Ah Yin's words and her finger tracing her soft pink lips, Bibi Dong's and Liu Erlong's gaze turned a bit strange, in fact, confused as if they themselves didn't know how to process whatever they were feeling. Meanwhile, Hu Lana secretly gave a big thumbs up.
'See? It pays off to be direct... now, you just truly have to mark your territory!' Hu Lana added internally, already planning what to teach this dangerous damsel next.
"You don't have anything to say to this? She's admitting it," Xie Xan wagged his brows at Ja Sun.
"Well, what can I say?" Ja Sun frowned, "She forcefully pressed herself on me. And she is openly declaring certain things that I don't agree to... not unless I become sufficiently strong. Maybe until I become a Spirit Emperor and get my sixth spirit ring?"
Ah Yin and Ja Sun glared at each other.
'You play with me, I'll do the same.'
Turns out, he is equally petty.
His words made others feel a bit creeped out and even Hu Lana scoffed, "You get to have Little Yin's lips and still a complaint. Yes, it is double standards, alright. She can forcefully strip you if she wants to but you can't touch a hair on her."
She instantly jumped and sat between Ja Sun and Ah Yin before hugging her and glaring at Ja Sun.
"Fine, no sex for you with Xie Xan! Right?" Ja Sun looked back at Xie Xan.
"Woah, what?" Xie Xan scowled and snorted before walking towards his lover.
'So... for him, bros before hoes doesn't apply, huh...' Ja Sun pursed his lips as Hu Lana giggled deviously.
"Teacher, whose side are you on?" Hu Lana looked at Bibi Dong and Liu Erlong.
"Of course... yours..." Bibi Dong spoke slowly.
"Since I did benefit from Ka-ul, I will take his side and matters like this should be absolutely fair," Liu Erlong suddenly spoke up, and for the first time, difficult to conceal crafty expression touched the ordinarily fierce woman which shocked everyone except for Ja Sun.
The dark-haired dragon sat beside Ja Sun and looked away, unwillingly to match the fierce gazes of the opponents on the other side. Especially Bibi Dong who had gone out of her way to help Liu Erlong. Right now, Bibi Dong's stare was the scariest for Liu Erlong as if she had once again become a small child caught committing a mischief by her mother.
"Well, there you have it. I'm gonna share my stuff with Erlong from now on," Ja Sun smiled. His words holding even greater importance as Ah Yin recalled their previous conversation. His words made Liu Erlong tremble momentarily and she finally scowled.
"Pervert!"
And smiling coldly, Ah Yin replied calmly, "Those low-ranked spirit bones? Keep them. Don't we have pursuers? Strong ones at that. I refuse to believe that none of them have a single spirit bone."
And with this, the action of the group was set for the coming four days and the remaining few hours left of the day.
