Chapter 758: Chapter 758: Naughty Sister
“Jiejie is right.”
Prince Xinhai lowered his head to look at the unconscious Jiang Ning and sighed, “I knew it, Jiejie is softhearted, she would definitely be unable to bear it. So, I didn’t expect anything from her. Well, now she’s finally mine.”
He bent down to pick up Jiang Ning.
Concubine Ya trembled, guarding Jiang Ning: “No! You cannot take her away!”
Prince Xinhai raised an eyebrow: “Jiejie is not being obedient now.”
“Xinhai, stop! The Princess Consort is a good person, I cannot let you hurt her!” Concubine Ya cried, “Besides, if she disappears from my place, I won’t be able to escape the consequences!”
“Ah, that is indeed a problem.”
Prince Xinhai thought seriously about it, “Then I can only inconvenience Jiejie.”
He casually grabbed a vase from the side and smashed it towards Concubine Ya’s head.
The vase shattered to pieces.
“You…” Concubine Ya stared at him in horror, blood slowly flowed down her head, and then she fainted, falling to the ground.
Prince Xinhai didn’t spare her another glance.
He hoisted Jiang Ning up and quickly ran away.
…
Jiang Ning regained consciousness amid the jolting.
She opened her eyes to complete darkness.
Her hands and feet were tied up.
Feeling her surroundings with her body, she guessed that she was stuffed inside a wooden barrel that bumped against her head occasionally because of the shaking.
To transport her out of the palace in a wooden barrel, Jiang Ning thought about it, and concluded that it must be the water carts used to transport water early in the morning.
The Emperor, Empress, and other nobles in the palace loved to drink sweet mountain spring water, so water carts would leave and enter the palace gates every day.
Being transported out of the palace in this manner wasn’t strange.
Jiang Ning sat in the barrel, puzzled by one thing.
Concubine Ya had clearly changed the tea, so why was she still drugged?
Could it be that the sleeping drug was not added to the tea, but instead in…the snacks?
How careless.
Jiang Ning lamented Concubine Ya’s naïveté and Prince Xinhai’s wicked cunning, but she didn’t panic much about her current situation.
She believed that Gufeng must be following her.
With this thought, she felt reassured and fell asleep again.
It was uncomfortable and cold in the barrel, and before dawn, she woke up.
The jolting of the barrel had stopped.
There were faint footsteps and hushed voices outside.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Where would Xinhai take her?
As Jiang Ning contemplated, she saw light shining above her head.
The lid of the wooden barrel was opened.
She raised her head and saw a lantern, followed by Prince Xinhai’s hateful and smug smiling face.
“I thought the Princess Consort should be awake by now.” Prince Xinhai casually handed the lantern to a servant, then grabbed Jiang Ning’s arm and pulled her out of the barrel.
Jiang Ning remained aloof, showing none of the panic and confusion a normal person would have if kidnapped.
“Where is this?” Stepping steadily on the ground, she asked the first question.
Prince Xinhai laughed, “In a small farmhouse. The Princess Consort seldom leaves the palace, so I don’t think you’ve been here before. The place is a bit crude, but bear with it for a couple of days, and I’ll take you back to Silla.”
He led Jiang Ning into a farmhouse.
Although it was a farmhouse, it was clean and tidy.
Jiang Ning sat down, took a breath, and said, “Once the palace realizes I’m missing, you’re finished.”
“Of course they’ll find out you’re missing, but—” Prince Xinhai smiled, “you disappeared in the palace, what does it have to do with me?”
What do you think?
